Chapter 27 - Chapter27:Dividing the Weight

đź“– Chapter 27: Dividing the Weight

Early 1965 — Winter ending

The cold mornings were starting to fade.

Fields were still active… but something else had changed.

This time, the work was no longer centered in one place.

Morning — A Real Discussion

For the first time, Akshy didn't start with plans.

He started with a question.

They were all sitting together—Mahavir, Savitri, and Shanti.

Akshy spoke simply:

"We can't run everything alone."

Mahavir looked at him.

"Then?"

Akshy replied:

"We divide it."

Father's Role — Dairy (Pundri)

Akshy turned to Mahavir.

"Bauji… dairy should be yours."

Mahavir frowned slightly.

"Mine?"

Akshy nodded.

"You understand people. Farmers trust you. Milk collection depends on that."

He continued clearly this time:

"We start with 40–50 liters per day. Not big."

"Collect from 3–4 villages near Pundri."

"Make ghee and butter first."

Mahavir asked directly:

"And profit?"

Akshy answered without hesitation:

"Daily cash flow. Steady. Low risk."

Mahavir stayed silent for a moment… then nodded slowly.

"I'll handle it."

This was the first time—

It became his responsibility, not Akshy's extension.

Mother's Role — Real Work Begins

Akshy then looked at Shanti.

Until now, she mostly supported the household.

That was about to change.

"Ma," he said gently,

"You'll help manage the dairy work."

She looked surprised.

"What will I do?"

Akshy explained simply:

"Women trust women more."

"You'll handle milk quality, cleaning, ghee preparation."

He added,

"And later… workers."

Shanti didn't answer immediately.

But something in her expression changed.

She wasn't just helping anymore.

She was becoming part of the system.

Savitri — Reality, Not Just Notes

Akshy turned toward Savitri.

"You won't just write accounts anymore."

She raised an eyebrow.

"Then?"

"You'll study properly."

Mahavir looked at him, slightly surprised.

Akshy continued:

"You finish school first. Then college."

Savitri asked quietly:

"Where?"

Akshy answered:

"In Kurukshetra."

He added,

"But not now. Step by step."

Then he placed a notebook in front of her.

"Until then—you handle accounts for all three businesses."

Savitri blinked.

"All?"

"Yes," Akshy said.

"Oil, dairy, and future rice mill."

For the first time—

She wasn't just learning.

She was responsible.

Akshy — His Own Path

That evening, Mahavir asked something important.

"And you?"

Akshy paused for a moment.

"I'll study."

Mahavir frowned slightly.

"With all this work?"

Akshy nodded.

"Yes. I'll do B.Sc. from Kurukshetra."

He added calmly:

"Science helps in everything—production, machines, planning."

Mahavir didn't argue.

He simply said:

"Then manage both."

Akshy replied:

"I will."

Business Structure — Now Clear

For the first time, things were defined properly:

Kurukshetra (Base):

Oil press → running daily

Managed by workers + Akshy supervision

Pundri (Dairy):

Led by Mahavir

Supported by Shanti

Starting: ~50 liters/day

Nissing (Rice Mill – Planning Stage):

Construction to begin soon

Will process local paddy

Kaithal (Future):

Animal feed → linked to dairy + farming

This was no longer random expansion.

This was structured growth.

Small But Real Numbers

By now:

Oil press → earning small but steady income daily

Grain storage → increasing (war preparation quietly)

Cash savings → slowly building

Not huge wealth.

But strong foundation.

Savitri's POV — Responsibility Hits

That night, Savitri sat alone with the account book.

Three columns now:

Oil

Dairy (starting soon)

Rice (planned)

She whispered softly:

"This is serious now…"

For the first time, she felt pressure.

But also… excitement.

Mother's POV — Silent Growth

Shanti woke up earlier than usual the next morning.

She checked utensils, cleaned space, prepared for milk collection.

No one told her what to do.

She figured it out.

This was her growth—

Quiet, but real.

Akshy — Future Thinking Continues

Late night, Akshy reviewed everything again.

Now things were different:

He wasn't doing everything himself anymore.

He was:

Assigning

Trusting

Building people

And that mattered more than business itself.

He thought ahead:

War coming

Demand rising

Some industries will fail

And when that happens—

He won't just grow.

He'll take over what others lose.

Closing

The house felt the same.

The village looked the same.

But inside—

Everything had changed:

Father became a business head

Mother became an operator

Sister became responsible + future student

Akshy became… something more than just a planner

Not just a businessman.

A builder of people.
