Chapter 6 - Clash of Power

The air inside the chamber turned heavy, as if gravity itself had increased. Ayan could feel it pressing against his chest, making it harder to breathe. The glowing lines in the walls flickered wildly, reacting to the dark energy spreading from Xyron's body. It wasn't just power—it was domination. Everything around him seemed to obey that darkness.

Ayan stood still, but inside, his energy was rising fast. His heartbeat matched the pulse of the light within him. Fear tried to creep in, but something stronger pushed it away. This was not like before. This was not survival.

This was a fight.

Xyron tilted his head slightly, observing him like a predator watching its prey. "Interesting," he said calmly. "You are not running."

Ayan took a slow step forward. "I'm done running."

Behind him, Rudra whispered nervously, "Bro… maybe a little running is okay…"

Ayan didn't reply. His focus was locked.

Xyron raised his hand.

Instantly, the ground beneath Ayan cracked open, dark energy erupting upward like flames. Without thinking, Ayan reacted. Golden light burst from his body, forming a shield just as the attack struck. The collision created a shockwave that pushed everything outward.

The chamber shook.

Rudra fell back. "This is insane!"

Ayan held his ground, but the pressure was intense. His light flickered for a moment before stabilizing again. Slowly, he pushed forward, breaking through the dark energy.

Xyron's eyes glowed brighter.

"Good," he said. "Now try harder."

With a sudden movement, he disappeared.

Ayan's eyes widened.

Before he could react—

A powerful strike hit him from the side.

He was thrown across the chamber, crashing into the metallic wall. Pain shot through his body, and the light around him flickered violently.

"Ayan!" Rudra shouted.

Zyra, still recovering, forced herself up. "He is too fast…"

Xyron reappeared in the center, calm as ever. "You rely on power," he said. "But you lack control."

Ayan slowly stood up, breathing heavily. His body hurt, but the energy inside him refused to fade. Instead, it grew stronger with every hit.

He wiped the blood from his lip and looked at Xyron.

"Then I'll learn… right now."

The light around him changed.

It was no longer unstable.

It became sharper. Focused.

Zyra noticed immediately. "He's adapting…"

Xyron attacked again, faster this time. But Ayan moved differently now. He didn't panic. He didn't rush. He watched.

He felt.

At the last second, he stepped aside, avoiding the attack completely.

For the first time—

Xyron missed.

Ayan turned and struck back, releasing a concentrated blast of golden energy. It hit Xyron directly, pushing him backward a few steps.

Silence filled the chamber.

Rudra's eyes widened. "HE HIT HIM!"

Zyra stared, shocked. "No one has done that before…"

Xyron looked down at his arm, where the light had struck. The dark armor there cracked slightly before repairing itself.

Then he smiled.

Not with anger.

With excitement.

"Now this," he said, "is becoming interesting."

The energy around him exploded outward, darker and heavier than before. The entire chamber began to break apart under the pressure.

Ayan felt it instantly. This was a different level.

Xyron raised both hands.

"This ends now."

Dark energy gathered into a massive sphere above him, spinning violently, pulling everything toward it.

Rudra struggled to stand. "That does not look good at all!"

Zyra shouted, "Ayan, you cannot block that directly! It will destroy you!"

Ayan looked at the growing sphere.

Then he closed his eyes.

For a moment, everything became silent.

He remembered Zyra's words.

Do not fight with force… feel the flow.

Slowly, he raised his hand.

The golden energy returned.

But this time, it didn't explode.

It flowed.

Like a calm river.

The light spread around him, not as a shield, but as a field—balanced, controlled, alive.

Xyron released the attack.

The massive sphere of darkness came crashing down.

Rudra shouted, "AARAV—!"

The collision happened.

Light met darkness.

For a moment, nothing moved.

Then—

The energy bent.

Instead of breaking, Ayan's light redirected the attack, splitting it apart. The dark sphere shattered into fragments of fading energy that disappeared into the air.

Silence.

Even Xyron stopped.

For the first time, his expression changed.

Not anger.

Not confidence.

Surprise.

Ayan opened his glowing eyes.

"I told you," he said calmly. "I'm not losing."

The chamber was now half-destroyed, energy still crackling in the air.

Xyron looked at him for a long moment.

Then slowly, he stepped back.

"This is not the end," he said quietly. "You have awakened… but you are still incomplete."

The darkness around him began to gather.

"When we meet again," he continued, "you will face your true limit."

With that, his body dissolved into shadow and vanished.

Silence returned.

The pressure disappeared.

Ayan's light faded.

He dropped to one knee, exhausted.

Rudra ran to him immediately. "BRO! That was insane! You actually fought him!"

Zyra walked closer, her expression serious but filled with something new.

Hope.

"You did more than fight," she said. "You forced him to retreat."

Ayan looked up, breathing heavily.

"But he's right," he said quietly. "I'm still not ready."

Zyra nodded.

"Then we prepare," she said.

Outside, the sky of Nexora flickered again.

The war had only just begun.
