Chapter 54 - CHAPTER 54: Confrontation and an Unexpected Meeting

The night had grown quiet as the city lights reflected on the pavement. Soo Bin had left the station without saying a word to So Hee, her chest still tight from the jealousy she felt earlier. Every time she thought about Ha Eun leaning on So Hee, every accidental brush, every polite smile, her heart ached.

So Hee, sensing something was wrong, had called Soo Bin multiple times, but there was no answer. Her concern deepened with each ring, a small knot forming in her stomach. Finally, unable to bear the worry, she decided to go to Soo Bin's apartment.

When So Hee arrived, the door was slightly ajar. Soo Bin was inside, arms crossed, staring out the window. Her jaw was tense, her expression unreadable.

"So… why are you avoiding me?" So Hee asked softly, stepping inside. Her eyes searched Soo Bin's face, trying to read the storm behind her calm exterior.

Soo Bin didn't respond immediately. She turned slowly, her eyes locking with So Hee's. "I saw everything at the station," she said finally, voice low but firm. "Everything that happened with Ha Eun."

So Hee's eyes widened slightly, realization dawning. "Oh… that… it's not that deep. I was just helping her zip up. That's all. It didn't mean anything."

Soo Bin's expression softened slightly, but she still refused to smile. She pouted, crossing her arms tighter, still sulking—but So Hee noticed the tension behind her eyes.

"You really… hate seeing people around me, don't you?" So Hee teased gently, stepping closer. Her hands brushed Soo Bin's, just barely, and the simple contact made Soo Bin's heart skip a beat.

Soo Bin looked away, pretending to check something on the counter, but her voice betrayed her. "Maybe… I just… I don't like it when it looks like someone else is getting close to you."

So Hee's lips curved into a small smile. "Soo Bin… I love you," she said softly, letting the words hang in the air. The confession was quiet but full of warmth, sincerity, and a gentle reassurance that made Soo Bin's heart flutter.

Soo Bin's eyes widened, and for a long moment, she didn't respond. Then, slowly, a small smile broke across her face. "I… I love you too," she whispered back, letting her guard drop.

The tension melted, replaced by a warmth that filled the room. Soo Bin stepped closer, wrapping her arms around So Hee, letting herself feel the comfort and safety of being with her. They laughed softly, teasing one another, leaning into the intimacy that had been building for so long.

It was a quiet, tender moment, but it carried a depth that neither had expected—proof that their feelings were real, solid, and mutual.

After a while, So Hee pulled back slightly, grabbing her bag. "I should head home," she said, smiling. "But… I'm glad we talked."

Soo Bin nodded, still holding onto her hand. "Me too.

Don't ever leave without telling me first, okay?" Soo hee said, looking at her with a worried face

"I won't," Soo bin promised.
