Jin was running.
He just passed through the school gate.
And started running towards his house.
The walk from his house to school takes two hours.
He could have taken the bus or ridden a bicycle.
But Jin wasn't thinking about that; all he could think about was them.
He kept running despite the pain he felt with every movement.
His body was covered in bruises.
Blood was streaming from his nose.
He knew he would soon lose consciousness.
Although he could endure the pain, his body was too weak now.
He bit his lip and kept running.
He had to get home, even if his body was destroyed.
He had to make sure he had truly returned.
And if he had, it meant they were here too.
An hour passed as he ran.
His breath began to shorten and his vision blurred.
But he mustn't give up.
He started looking left and right, and everyone was looking at him.
He noticed a group of girls.
He started walking towards them.
The girls started screaming:
"Aaaah!"
"Get away, you pervert!"
One of them threw a book at Jane, but he dodged it and continued walking slowly toward them.
He approached the girl who had thrown the book, who was trembling violently.
His hand began to reach for her.
When people saw this, they would think he was going to touch her.
The other girls started talking.
"Lisa, no!"
"Pervert, don't touch our friend!"
"Help us!"
Lisa closed her eyes.
She never knew there would come a day when she'd be in a situation like this.
She just wanted to enjoy college life.
Jin's hand moved closer, but he never touched Lisa's body; instead, he took the pen that was in her ear.
He sat on the ground in front of the group of girls.
The girls were surprised by his actions.
But Jin didn't pay them any attention.
He placed his left hand on the ground, palm down.
He raised his right hand and gripped the pen tightly.
Then he swiftly lowered the pen to his left hand, piercing his palm.
The girls were horrified and their faces paled at what they had witnessed.
Everyone in the area was shocked by what Gene did.
Some people called the police when they saw him approaching a girl.
But now they have to call an ambulance.
Lisa was the first to react.
"Hey, are you crazy?"
She lifted Jin by her right hand and made her stand on her feet.
"Let me see your left hand."
She grabbed his injured hand and saw that the pen had pierced it completely.
She could see the tip of the pen from the other side.
Lisa looked at her friends and demanded,
"Call an ambulance, now!"
Immediately afterward, jin grabbed the pen with his right hand and pulled it out.
Lisa was shocked.
"Are you stupid? Don't you feel any pain?"
Jin raised his head and looked at Lisa.
Lisa felt a shiver run down her spine as she looked into his dark eyes; it was as if she were staring into nothingness.
Gene opened his mouth.
"Let go of my hand."
Hearing his voice, Lisa released his hand. She then noticed that the boy's body was covered in bruises, parts of it even turned blue.
'It's impossible he's not in any pain.'
Jin looked away and forced himself to run again.
Lisa noticed this and quickly blocked his path.
"Stop!"
Jin glared at her.
"Get away."
"You're hurt. You need to go to the hospital."
Jin yelled:
"Get away!"
Lisa was scared. She was trembling, but she didn't move, perhaps because she felt responsible as an adult, or perhaps because she was studying medicine.
Jin looked at her, hesitant about what to say, then decided to be honest.
"Please, get out of my way."
She heard his words and looked into his eyes, seeing his misery.
Then she made her decision.
"Then I'll go with you."
Jin didn't hesitate.
"Do whatever you want."
His only concern was getting this girl out of his way because he couldn't face her anymore.
Jin started running again, and the girl caught up with him.
With every movement, his body screamed in pain.
Blood gushed from the hole he'd made in his hand, but the pain allowed him to think again.
And his vision became clearer.
Another hour passed.
Jin arrived.
He saw the familiar building where he had spent his childhood, running through its corridors.
His home was an apartment on the third floor of this eight-story building.
Jin ran to the elevator, and the girl was still following him.
He saw her talking to someone on the phone, but he didn't care. All he cared about was getting home.
He got into the elevator with the girl and tried to raise his hand, but he couldn't.
He looked at the girl.
Lisa was surprised.
"What?"
"Press the button for the third floor."
"Uh-huh."
Lisa pressed the button for the third floor.
Seconds later, the elevator doors opened.
But Gene couldn't run anymore.
But that didn't stop him. He started walking slowly, his body unsteady.
His house was on the far right of this floor.
Reaching the door, he paused for a moment.
He hesitated, no, he was afraid.
Afraid they weren't there.
Jin gritted his teeth, raised his right hand, and began knocking, calling out:
"Mom!"
"Dad!"
"Lara, Ren!"
"Is anyone there?"
Jin no longer cared. He raised his injured hand, made a fist, and began banging on the door with both hands like a madman.
"Hey, someone answer me!"
"Open the door, yaaaaa!"
Lisa saw this and was horrified. She had to stop him now.
She grabbed his hands.
"Stop it. Look at your hands. You can't take any more."
"No, your whole body can't take it. You need to get treatment."
Jin fell to the ground.
'This is supposed to be a second life, they're supposed to be here.'
Then he heard a voice calling him.
It was warm and gentle.
"Jin."
Jin raised his head to look at the source of the voice.
And when he saw her, tears began to stream from his eyes.
"Mom."
