Her room door burst open with a huge bang that woke both roommates up.
Lydia jolted upright in bed, heart hammering like a drum solo gone wrong. A whole chaotic party of monsters marched in like they owned the place a glittering fairy with sparkling wings leading the charge, two glam specialists dragging racks of clothes behind them, and a makeup artist who looked like she'd stepped out of a gothic painting with fangs and perfect eyeliner. Lydia could instantly tell.
"Rise and shine, darling!" the fairy sang, clapping her tiny hands. "You're the opener for the Founders Week parade! That means you get the full glam team treatment. Let's make you unforgettable!"
Lydia blinked hard, still half-asleep and tangled in her blanket. "Wait… I'm what now?"
