In a quiet town where the sky always seemed endless, three pigeons lived on the rooftop of an old building. Among them were two male pigeons—Arlo and Zayn—and one beautiful female pigeon named Lira.
Arlo was calm, kind, and deeply loyal. He believed in love that lasted forever. Zayn, on the other hand, was bold and cheerful, always making others smile. Despite their differences, both of them shared one thing—they loved Lira with all their hearts.
Lira was charming and clever. Her soft feathers shone under the sunlight, and her voice was sweet like a melody. She knew both Arlo and Zayn cared for her, and instead of choosing one, she decided to keep both close.
At first, everything seemed peaceful.
Arlo would bring Lira the best grains he could find, waking up early every morning just for her. Zayn would protect her from other birds and make her laugh with his playful nature. Lira enjoyed all the attention. She smiled at both, spoke gently to both, and promised both something special.
But deep inside, she wasn't loyal to either.
Days turned into weeks. Arlo began to dream of building a nest with Lira—a safe home where they could stay forever. Zayn also had the same dream, imagining a life full of happiness with her.
Lira, however, had different thoughts.
One day, a new pigeon arrived in the town. His name was Rex. He was strong, handsome, and mysterious. Lira was immediately attracted to him. Without thinking twice, she started spending time with Rex while still pretending to care for Arlo and Zayn.
She lied.
To Arlo, she said, "You are the only one I trust."
To Zayn, she whispered, "You are the one who makes me happiest."
And to Rex, she said, "I've been waiting for someone like you."
The sky that once felt warm slowly became cold.
Arlo noticed the change first. Lira was no longer waiting for him in the mornings. She stopped appreciating his efforts. Still, he stayed loyal, believing love needed patience.
Zayn also felt something was wrong. Lira laughed less with him now. Her eyes were always searching for someone else. But Zayn ignored the signs, hoping everything would go back to normal.
One evening, everything changed.
Arlo and Zayn saw Lira flying closely with Rex, sharing moments she once shared with them. Their hearts shattered. The truth hit them like a storm.
They didn't shout. They didn't fight.
They just felt broken.
Arlo quietly said, "Love is not supposed to hurt like this."
Zayn, with tears in his eyes, replied, "We gave her everything."
Lira tried to explain, but her words meant nothing anymore. Her lies had already destroyed their trust.
Rex, too, soon realized Lira's nature. If she could betray two loyal hearts, she could betray him as well. Slowly, he distanced himself.
In the end, Lira was left alone.
No one trusted her anymore.
Arlo and Zayn, though heartbroken, found strength in each other. They stayed friends, supporting one another, healing slowly. They learned that true loyalty is rare and valuable.
Seasons changed. The sky became beautiful again.
One day, Arlo said, "Maybe love will come again, but next time, it will be true."
Zayn smiled, "And we will never ignore the signs again."
As they flew together into the open sky, they weren't sad anymore.
They were stronger.
And far away, sitting alone on the rooftop, Lira finally understood—
Loyal hearts are not meant to be played with.
But by the time she realized it, it was already too late.
