"Yup, this is just perfect." A huge smile appeared on Peter's lips the moment he saw the tribesmen arriving in the supermarket.
He took the extra time to arrive at the place early just to greet them. And now, seeing them and their tribal clothes sent a big smile to his face.
They were wearing a patterned top and bottom. The top looked like a vest, while the bottom was a skirt. A little part of their waist could be seen, so you would see their bellies sticking out.
Each one had a big and rounded body, but they were built as muscular ones. They're all tall, even the little boy. Aside from that, the serious and grim expression on their faces that they have on default, was what makes them look unapproachable.
'With this, people who would go to the store would double-think! We won't have any more customers after this one!' Peter pressed his lips together as he fought the urge to laugh, but the corner of his lips kept betraying him.
"Ehem… ehem…" he cleared his throat when he saw that everyone was just looking at him. Their heads were tilted on the side and as they looked at him in confusion.
"I mean, I'm happy to see everyone," he explained. "I called for you early so I can tour you around the store."
Because of what he said, the tribesmen quickly dropped the confusion on their faces and smiled. They looked genuinely happy.
"Come, come, I'll tour you around and explain your work," Peter muttered as he pointed at the automatic door. As the director, he had access to everything here so he could do whatever he wanted.
The automatic doors slid open the moment Peter stepped close.
Whoosh.
The tribal men instantly stopped walking.
"Whoa!"
"What is that?!"
"Is this… technology?"
"T-technology?" One looked at the door as if it was a magical gate.
"I-t is t-technology!" Another man slowly waved his hand in front of the sensor and the door slid open again.
"Awoo!" They all jumped slightly in surprise.
Peter turned around and raised a brow. He found it quite unusual.
"Have you not been to any grocery store before?" He asked.
The tribesmen looked at each other then they all scratched the back of their head in embarrassment.
"Only our leader and Leon go sometimes."
"Leon?" Peter looked around to see who it was.
Just then, the little boy proudly puffed his chest beside him. "That's me!"
"Ohhh…" Peter nodded slowly. "So that was your name."
"Yes, Sir!" Leon exclaimed out loud in a deep but adorable voice.
Peter chuckled because of it. He then glanced at the tall man standing beside him. It was the leader.
"Uh… your name is Koko, right?"
The man's eyes widened. He nodded enthusiastically. He was happy that Peter knew his name.
"Yes, Boss! That's my name!" Koko happily muttered.
Peter just smiled and clapped his back. As they walked deeper into the supermarket, Peter began asking Koko some questions about their lives. He was actually curious about it.
"So where do you and your tribesmen live?" Peter asked.
"We used to live in the mountains, Boss…" Koko answered.
"Our family lived there for a very long time. But as the city kept expanding over the years, construction companies started taking over our land." Koko sighed at that.
It was that situation that made their tribe have nowhere left to stay.
"So we came down to the city," Koko said simply. "We heard people could earn money here. So we stayed… but it wasn't as easy as we thought."
They had been living in the town for several years already. But finding work was difficult. Most people avoided them because of how they looked and dressed. So they survived by performing tribal dances and occasionally asking for money.
'Ahhh… so that's why they stopped cars on the road,' he thought. 'That was their way of making a living.'
Then another thought crossed his mind.
;And honestly… I don't think any sane person would hire them either.' His lips curled slightly.
'That is… until me. Hehehe.'
Koko continued explaining that they didn't have any permanent home anymore. Most nights, they just slept in parks or empty spaces around town.
People in the area simply ignored them because they weren't dangerous and never caused trouble.
Soon enough, their conversation stopped when they reached the main aisle of the supermarket. The tribal men's eyes widened with what they say.
"Whoa…"
"Look at this!"
"So many things!"
They walked around the area like curious children. One man carefully picked up a cabbage and examined it as if it were some rare treasure.
Leon ran toward the snack aisle.
"Boss! What are these colorful bags?!"
"That's chocolates."
"C-chocolates?" Leon's eyes widened at that.
"Yes, you can eat that later," Peter told the little guy before clapping his hands to catch everyone's attention.
"Alright, everyone. Listen up."
The tribesmen quickly gathered around him.
"Your job here is simple," Peter explained, the corner of his lips rising to a big smile..
"You will line up in front of the door. When customers enter the store, you will greet them enthusiastically. Then you can help them find items and show them where things are."He pointed toward the shelves.
"We have fresh vegetables, meats, fish, groceries. Just help them pick what they need."
The tribesmen immediately nodded enthusiastically.
"Sure, Boss!"
"That is easy!"
"We lived most of our lives with vegetables, fish, and meat!"
"Yes! Very easy task for us!"
"Very Easy! Very Easy!"
"Awooo!"
Peter laughed and clapped his hands again.
"Good!"
'Very good,' he thought. 'Customers will definitely run away the moment they see ten giant tribal men greeting them at the door.'
The image alone almost made him laugh.
'Perfect.'
Continue this with Peter smiling. Then all of a sudden, the door will open and the store's original staff would enter. They will be horrified when they saw the tall man.
Just as he was enjoying the image in his mind—
Whoosh.
The automatic door suddenly slid open again.
Peter and all the tribesmen turned their heads to the side.
2 staff from Sunshine Market were just arriving for work. They were holding a cup of coffee while chatting with two employees.
"…And I think today we should reorganize the—" The moment they saw their director and the people in front of him, they immediately stopped walking.
Their jaws fell to the ground, and all of a sudden…
"AHHHHHH!"
"Are we getting robbed?"
