Chapter 121
Seoul, South Korea
~Phoebe~
Was I going crazy?
No. I know what I heard.
I picked up my pace. My nerves on edge, I could feel eyes on me now. But when I searched for the feeling's origins, I couldn't find it. It didn't come from one place in particular. Almost like it's everywhere all at once.
My legs moved faster going from a brisk walk to a near jogging speed.
My heart raced unevenly, fear kicking in my fight or flight survival mode. Memories of the kidnapping flooded my mind. My senses ignited and tuned into everything, the window blowing between the leaves and branches of nearby trees. The scraping sound of leaves and paper tumbling across the cement walkway.
My eyes darting to each shadow as it emerged.
Finally. The steps picked up, and sadistic laughter filled the air around me.
The laugher featured three distinctly different voices.
They were getting louder, signaling their quickening approach.
But it was just girls. Why would they be bothering me.
