Auxiliary Chapter: The System & The World
This chapter serves as a compendium of knowledge about the world of the novel. It will be updated as revelations and information is gradually revealed. Hopefully this will help you better understand the world.
---
## I. The Two Worlds
There are only two worlds in existence.
- Aetheria — the original world
- Earth — the human world
---
### Aetheria — The Origin World
Aetheria is the first world.
It is vast, unstable, and saturated with mana.
- Mana exists naturally and in high density
- Environments evolve rapidly
This is the birthplace of:
- Magic
- Supernatural species
- Void creatures
---
### Earth — The Human World
Earth came after Aetheria.
It follows the same fundamental rules—
- Mana exists, but in a lower density
Because of this stability, humans built systems:
- Governments
- Cities
- Technology
And most importantly…
Ignorance.
The supernatural exists on Earth, but it is hidden.
Suppressed by the alliance.
---
## II. Terminology — Humans
Humans who interact with mana are referred to as practitioners.
---
### Practitioners
A practitioner is a human capable of sensing, manipulating, and utilizing mana.
All practitioners possess:
- A core (their source of power)
- An affinity (what type of mana they can use)
---
### Cores
A core is a stabilized nucleus of mana formed by will, identity, and understanding.
Core rules:
- Humans are born with 1 core
- Maximum: 3 cores
- Each additional core is an evolutionary leap
Core count increases:
- Mana capacity
- Endurance
- Growth ceiling
But does not automatically determine skill.
---
### Core Colors (Refinement Levels)
Core color represents control and efficiency:
Red → Orange → Yellow → Green → Blue → Purple → White
- Lower colors = unstable, inefficient
- Higher colors = refined, controlled, lethal
A single refined core can outperform multiple weaker ones.
---
### Affinity
Affinity determines what type of mana a practitioner can control.
Examples include:
- Fire
- Ice
- Shadow
- Lightning
Affinity supports combat style.
---
### Core Ability
Core ability is the defining power of a practitioner.
It reflects:
- Identity
- Lineage
- Nature of power
Unlike affinity, it is not always visible or obvious.
Affinity supports.
Core ability defines.
---
### Awakening
Core growth occurs through awakening other then the first awakening that every practitioner goes through to awaken there first core.
After that awakenings are triggered by:
Triggers include:
- Near-death combat
- Emotional breakthroughs
- Mastery of power
Awakening is:
- Painful
- Dangerous
- Not guaranteed
Most practitioners never evolve beyond a single core.
---
## III. Terminology — Void Creatures
Void creatures are entities born from unstable mana and uncontrolled evolution or that's the information for now.
They are not simply monsters.
They are mana given form without restraint.
---
### Core Principle
Void creatures are classified by:
- Tier (number of cores)
- Core color
Their system mirrors practitioners—but without limitation.
---
### Tier Naming System
Instead of numbers, Void creatures are identified by titles:
- Spawn — newly formed (1 core)
- Fiend — active predator (2 cores)
- Dreadspawn — intelligent and adaptive (3 cores)
- Sentinel — territorial controller (4 cores)
- Tyrant — domain ruler (5 cores)
- Titan — catastrophic entity (6 cores)
- Primordial — mythic existence (7 cores)
Hearing the name alone reveals the threat level.
No further explanation is needed.
---
### Descriptors
Void creatures are often prefixed by descriptors that indicate nature or alignment.
### Evolution
Void creatures evolve by:
- Devouring other creatures
- Absorbing mana
- Surviving extreme environments
Rules:
- Most die before reaching higher tiers
- Each evolution is exponentially harder
- Tier increases are permanent
---
### Behavior
- Lower tiers: Instinct-driven, chaotic
- Mid tiers: Adaptive, intelligent
- High tiers: Dominant, oppressive
At the highest levels…
They no longer feel like living beings.
They feel like forces of nature.
---
## IV. Closing Statement
The world is not what it appears to be.
There are systems beneath reality.
Structures controlling truth.
Power deciding what is seen—and what is erased.
This chapter will continue to expand as more is revealed.
Because understanding this world…
Is the first step to surviving it.
