Chapter 112 - Chapter 112: Advancing Secretly

In Jane's logic, Loki was the mastermind behind the Battle of New York; his scepter was likely something evil.

So, why would the mysterious sorcerer steal Loki's scepter?

She couldn't figure it out.

She truly couldn't.

She pondered for a moment; returning to London was more important right now.

"Thor, can you take me back to London? I want to keep studying that gravity anomaly!"

Thor nodded nonchalantly. He began spinning Mjolnir at high speed, intending to gather his girlfriend in his arms and fly toward London.

But the moment he touched Jane's body, a wave of invisible energy erupted, throwing him back over ten meters.

"Ah? Thor, are you alright?"

A stunned Jane stood where she was, looking completely lost.

But the thick-skinned Thor stood up as if nothing had happened, looking at his girlfriend in confusion.

"I'm fine. Jane, when did you get these special powers?"

Jane felt a mysterious energy surging through her body. She said with a bewildered face: "I don't know when I got superpowers either."

"Could it be from touching that red liquid while I was exploring the alien dimension?"

Just then, Jane felt a sudden sharp pang in her heart. Her consciousness went blank, and she collapsed weakly backward.

Thor's reflexes were lightning fast as he caught his girlfriend.

"Jane? What's wrong?"

There was no response from the unconscious Jane.

Thor shouted anxiously toward the sky.

"Heimdall, take us back!"

A beam of rainbow light descended in response.

Harvey, hiding invisibly to the side, took the opportunity to slip inside.

Two seconds later, Thor and Jane vanished.

The experience of the Bifrost was incredible.

Harvey felt himself being yanked upward by an invisible spatial force at a speed exceeding several thousand times the speed of light.

Furthermore, outside the rainbow channel was the cosmic abyss.

He could perceive that the abyss was filled with dangerous spatial turbulence.

Clearly, if he were to forcefully break out of the Bifrost, he would be swept into unknown dimensions by the turbulence.

Of course, Harvey was just hitching a ride this time; he had no intention of courting death by trying to break the Bifrost.

About a minute later.

The scene before him shifted abruptly.

Harvey had finally achieved his objective.

He had smuggled himself to Himinbjorg in Asgard.

This was the end of the Bifrost and the gateway connecting the Nine Realms.

In the center of the uniquely designed palace stood Heimdall, wearing medieval-style leather armor and holding the Guardian Sword.

He saw Thor and Jane burst from the Bifrost channel and spoke with a grave expression: "Thor, why have you brought this Midgardian woman back as well?"

Thor, desperate to save her, had no desire to waste words with Heimdall. He held Jane in one arm while spinning his hammer to take flight.

"Jane is sick! I have to find someone to save her immediately!"

Leaving those words behind, Thor hurriedly flew into the sky toward the royal palace.

Heimdall's brow furrowed. He knew this Midgardian woman's relationship with Thor was not simple.

Even though the All-Father had always disliked outsiders entering Asgard, he had no standing to question Thor.

Thinking of this, he let out a helpless sigh and continued to survey the Nine Realms with his All-Sight.

But as Heimdall looked, he discovered in horror that an extra stranger was inside Himinbjorg.

He immediately raised the Guardian Sword in vigilance.

"Intruder! Who are you? Why have you crept into Asgard?"

Harvey hadn't expected the Disillusionment Charm to be seen through by Heimdall.

As expected, the effect of un-upgraded spells was just too poor.

His mind raced as he thought of a way to break the situation.

Although his identity was exposed, he could open a portal back to Earth at any moment.

Since he had a way out, there was no harm in being bold.

To steal Asgard's Runic symbols and magic, he couldn't cause too much of a scene.

Otherwise, if he attracted the All-Father's attention, Harvey wasn't sure he could avoid being caught.

Therefore, it would be best to quietly take out Heimdall, and then...

Staring at Heimdall, who was swinging his sword toward him, Harvey suddenly offered a mysterious smile.

"Imperio!"

A wand appeared in his hand as he cast the Imperius Curse, utilizing his Skyfather-level psionic power for a dimensional strike that instantly shattered Heimdall's mental defenses.

Looking at the dazed Heimdall who was now at his mercy, Harvey was very satisfied.

"Legilimens!"

...

Five minutes later.

In a corner of Himinbjorg, there was an extra pile of still-warm carbon ash.

Harvey gave Heimdall's thousand-plus years of memories a general overview. Once he had a handle on things, he used Fiendfyre to scatter the man's remains to the wind.

Furthermore, he used Polyjuice Potion to take on Heimdall's appearance, intending to operate under this identity from now on.

He placed the Guardian Sword used to summon the Bifrost back onto the control pedestal.

This sword was of little use to Harvey.

Firstly, the ability of the Guardian Sword to summon the Bifrost was actually granted by Odin.

Secondly, the sword would lose its ability to summon the Bifrost once it left Asgard.

Coupled with the fact that every summons of the Bifrost required the consumption of divine power.

Harvey wasn't sure if mana was compatible with summoning the Bifrost, but he didn't dare try it rashly.

There was certainly a residue of Odin's power inside this sword.

He worried that using mana to activate it would attract Odin's attention.

Thus, to minimize the chance of exposure, Harvey had no choice but to shelve the sword.

"Heimdall's family situation is actually quite complicated. Because he has to guard the Bifrost at all times, he goes long periods without seeing his wife."

"The long-distance separation has caused the passion between them to fade."

"Luckily they had a son, Axl, three hundred years ago, or the marriage would have collapsed by now."

He spent a bit of time imitating and adapting to Heimdall's daily habits.

Once he believed his acting was good enough to fool everyone, Harvey strode boldly out of Himinbjorg and toward the royal palace library.

He walked along the Bifrost toward the inner city.

The journey was incredibly smooth; he didn't even run into a single Asgardian.

He knew from Heimdall's memories that this was because the Nine Realms had grown increasingly chaotic over the last two years.

The majority of the populace was often away at war, forcefully suppressing any Nine Realm creatures that dared to rebel.

Therefore, those remaining in Asgard were either the elderly, women, and children, or the few whose duties were irreplaceable, like Heimdall.

When Harvey followed the path in his memory to a grand, magnificent classical European palace...

He stared at the glittering golden pillars and couldn't help but sigh: "So this is Asgard's heritage? They actually used this much gold just to build a library."

"It turns out the saying 'there are houses of gold in books' isn't a lie—at least there really is a golden palace here."

He prepared himself mentally for the likelihood of running into Asgardians, adopted a cold and aloof posture, and walked into the library with feigned calm.

At the same time.

A strange black crow landed on the eaves of the library, its sharp eyes locked onto the silhouette vanishing through the doorway.
