Chapter 2 - 02

Lunch was one of those rare occasions that he got time for himself, what with not being bothered by the rambunctious Ninja Jesus, and a veritable of snot nosed brats being well… snot nosed brats.

This was also further reinforced by the location of his spot being kind of an unspoken forbidden zone for kids who haven't mastered the art of wall walking, just by the virtue of the only entrance leading to the roof of the academy building being locked and what not.

Some could say it was unwise for an orphan of no background to display skills only shown in either experienced genins, or those leaflings under a jonin tutelage, but Kento ordinariness in virtually every shinobi's arts beside his chakra control, and a bit above average chakra reserve was a deliberate showcase on his parts.

With him being an ordinary boy of no known bloodline, he was safe from the meddling of the cyclop, and his pedo-snake's radars.

That and an above average chakra control, alongside his decently big chakra pool could land himself an apprenticeship for the Konoha's medic program should he fail his Jonin exam and be relegated to the infamous Genin corps.

And from there, with enough effort and headstrong perseverance, he could strive for that fabled cushy desk job in middle management that he has always wanted, all the while silently building up his repertoire to at least Elite Jonin, or A rank level in might so he could survive by virtue of being an inconspicuous little canon fodder.

Or at least that was the plan before these damn tickets appeared.

Kento let out a sigh, as he looked at the three colorful pieces of paper in his hand.

It was shaped like any other movie tickets of old with different colors, and writing indicating what type of ticket each was.

There was nothing strange or exceptional about it in Kento's eyes, but if what the floating letters said were true, then he could gain advantages from ripping these damn things.

Best get on with it, he supposed. It was not like delaying would do him any good anyway.

Starting with the Bronze Trait Gacha Ticket, He ripped these damn things one by one and waited with baited breath for that familiar window of transparent letters to reappear in front of him.

[Nothing]

F- Rank Trait

Literally just nothing, it's simply impressive that you got this unlucky.

AND

[Electric Discharge Jutsu]

B Rank Jutsu

Handsign: Tiger-Snake-Ram

Allows you to channel potent electricity through your body and discharge, with training you can channel where your electricity goes to aim it more precisely.

AND

[Big Battery]

B- Rank Trait

Your energy reserves are noticeably above average, not so much that you would be touted as a genius above all but enough to be very noticeable. This trait also accelerates the growth rate of your energy reserve by a moderate amount.

———————————————————————

It was a decent haul, Kento thought, but by no means was it game breaking even if the last boon he got did worry him a little.

Any sensor worth their salt should be able to sense the changes in his reserve with this trait, and that was going to be a pain to explain.

Although sensors were rare in the first place, and it was often frowned upon to actively gauge the reserve of an ally outside an active combat zone.

Hopefully this, plus his attempt to remain as inconspicuous as possible was enough to prevent any prying eyes from paying him any mind.

Sighing at the rocky future he could already imagine ahead of him with this useful albeit troublesome cheat of his, Kento mentally claimed all his boons before pain flooded his entire being.

In hindsight, it was rather foolish of him to think that power could come without a cost.

At least for him, the cost was nothing more than some momentary gut wrenching pain that he can endure.

And if it was something that he can endure, then it might as well have been free in this cruel, nepotism favored world.

Laying there and sweating buckets under Konoha's blue sky, while nursing a killer headache from having years of memories practicing an elemental jutsu shoved inside his brain, Kento slowly inspected his gains.

First was obviously the Electric Discharge Jutsu. Just as the description had read, the jutsu allowed the user to discharge a field of electricity, 40 feet in radius in all directions.

With more training, one can also condense the field in one specific direction, thereby increasing the range.

Of course he could also forgo this step directly, and just pump an obscene amount of chakra into the jutsu for the increased range in a 360 degrees omnidirectional attack.

Speaking of obscene amounts of chakra, his newly acquired trait gave him just that, except A LOT tamer in respect to Naruto, or even Kisame, the tailless chakra beast.

He felt his reserve quadrupled, and if it was before, he could maybe use his newly acquired jutsu for a single time even with his level of chakra control, mid genin sized chakra pool, and the experience shoved into his head before running out of juice, but now though?

Well now, he would wager his reserve being around low or mid chunin level, allowing him to spam the jutsu at most 4 maybe 5 times before he keeled over like a dead duck.

And that was huge considering this was a B-Rank Ninjutsu he was talking about. And these kinds of attacks are either the trump card of a Chunin, or a Jonin's bread and butter.

Kento let out a smile, one of those genuine smiles that he rarely let left his lips once he learned that he had been dropped into a death world where one could never shred their canon fodder status without some vaunted kekkai genkai, or special eyeballs shoved in one's eyeholes.

He can see it now, a chance for a cushy desk job in upper management at the very least, only below the Hokage, and a select few.

He could aim higher of course, but those who held the hat statistically did not have long to live, and he was very much content with his simple dream of a normal life alongside a virtuous, and dutiful but no less curvaceous wife, and some adorable loud mouth brats running around his home screaming papa this, and mama that.

This gacha thing might be bothersome, but it sure as hell was going to make his life a whole lot easier, and his future much brighter if he played things carefully.

Now if only he could lift his heavy, and lazy ass off the ground and back to class since he did hear the bell ring just a couple of minutes ago.
