Flat 13B was... normal.
Too normal.
Everything was clean, neatly arranged, faintly smelling of incense and something burnt—like someone had tried to cook noodles and accidentally summoned a demon.
Her best friend Arjun helped her move in.
"This place is great!" he said, flopping onto the couch. "Spacious, cheap—"
The lights flickered.
They both froze.
"…and probably cursed," he finished.
Riya rolled her eyes. "Oh please. It's just wiring."
The TV turned on by itself.
A grainy face appeared on the screen.
And then it spoke.
"YOU TOOK MY ROOM."
They screamed.
Then the power went out.
