Chapter 146
NIKOLAJ'S POV.
My claws scraped the desk without me meaning to, and I made a fist, trying to get a hold of myself. Blood ran down my palms where my nails had cut through the skin, and I started to growl deeper and louder.
My brain was getting mixed signals. Danger, fear, and confusion, but the biggest one was danger, and it made my instincts go crazy.
"Nikolaj," Georgia called softly. I stood up and hit the desk. It broke, and everything on it crashed to the floor.
My claws were long and sharp, and my fangs were out. In my head, all I could hear were alarms, and I couldn't convince myself that I wasn't in danger.
I couldn't help it; I started to growl, and it scared Georgia.
"Nikolaj, are you okay? What's wrong?" she asked. I turned away and punched the wall, hoping the shock would drive the fear away.
