Dark elementalists were known to be ostracized by everyone due to their freaky abilities. If a friend you hang out with turned out to be capable of controlling your mind, then anyone would be uncomfortable around them. Even if it is someone who, on the outside, looks as harmless as Michael Lighart.
No matter how much dark elementalists assert that they have no other intentions, it would be hard for them to earn anyone’s favor.
That was the reason why they lived hiding among people whether they could use their powers or not.
