Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The “Chand Sitare” Incident

Some memories are not even big.

No dramatic confession.No movie-like moment.

Just something small, stupid, and funny—

yet somehow unforgettable.

And this was one of them.

Our first proper meeting was exactly like that.

I still remember how nervous I was that day.

The kind of nervous where your heart starts beating too fast for absolutely no reason and suddenly you forget how to act like a normal human being.

I kept pretending to stay calm, but inside?

Complete panic.

And the worst part was—

you were taking TOO MUCH TIME to come.

Every passing minute made me more restless.

I kept looking around every few seconds like some lost child waiting for their favorite person.

"Waiting becomes dangerous when your heart is emotionally involved."

And then finally—

you entered.

The moment I saw you, I laughed automatically.

Not because anything was funny.

I was just THAT nervous.

One of those smiles that comes out when your brain completely gives up functioning.

But immediately after laughing, I went completely silent.

Like suddenly my brain reminded me:

"Control yourself please. Act normal."

Which clearly wasn't possible anymore.

Because after waiting so long to finally see you properly—

everything suddenly felt too real.

And then came the most iconic part of our first meeting.

The legendary moment.

The unforgettable romantic disaster.

Chand Sitare toffees.

You very seriously took them out and gave them to me like you were presenting some luxury chocolates.

And I swear, for two whole seconds I genuinely forgot how to react.

Because WHO BRINGS SO MANY CHAND SITARE TOFFEES ON A FIRST MEETING

And the funniest thing is…

this whole situation was partly my fault too.

Because during our random conversations that day, I had casually said:

"I want Chand Sitare toffees."

But sir???

That was just a sentence.

Not a shopping list

That doesn't mean you bring the entire stock.

At least mix some Dairy Milk in between for balance

Like imagine bringing Chand Sitare so confidently while meeting the girl you like

The confidence was honestly impressive.

And the funniest thing?

You brought SO MANY that it literally took me weeks to finish them.

WEEKS.

I think those toffees survived longer than my academic motivation.

But the cutest part?

Because you brought them so innocently and seriously, as if this was the most normal romantic gift ever.

Meanwhile I was trying not to burst out laughing every five seconds.

And maybe this sounds dramatic…

but I still have some wrappers of those toffees kept safely.

Not because they were expensive.

Not because they were special to anyone else.

But because that moment became special to me.

"Sometimes the cutest memories are the ones that make absolutely no sense to anyone else."

Because that day wasn't perfect in a cinematic way.

It was awkward.Funny.Cute.Chaotic.

And somehow…

that made it perfect for us.

The funniest thing of all?

After that day—

you never brought Chand Sitare again

Maybe even you realized what an unserious first gift that actually was.

But honestly?

That's exactly why I still love remembering it.

Because our story never felt fake or scripted.

It felt real.

Filled with stupid little moments that somehow became unforgettable.

And maybe that's why you became so special to me.

Not because you gave me grand romantic gestures.

But because even your random, funny efforts carried warmth in them.

"The heart doesn't always remember perfection. Sometimes it remembers the moments that made it laugh the hardest."
