Chapter 70 - The Trap Within the Trap

The Trap Within the Trap

The message came at night.

Short.

Cold.

Precise.

Unknown Number:

Come alone if you want to see her alive.

Warehouse 17.

Attached—

A photo.

Isabella's breath hitched.

A girl.

Bound to a chair.

Bruised.

Terrified.

Someone she knew.

Someone from her past.

Someone she couldn't ignore.

Her grip tightened around the phone.

"Arabella…" she whispered.

Behind her—

A presence.

"You're shaking."

Alessandro.

She turned quickly, masking it—but not fast enough.

His eyes had already seen it.

"What is it?" he asked.

A pause.

Then she showed him.

Silence.

Dark.

Heavy.

"They're calling you out," he said.

"They took someone close to me," Isabella replied, her voice tight. "I have to go."

His gaze sharpened.

"You're not going alone."

She expected that.

That's why—

Before she even came back—

She had already made her move.

Earlier…

A hidden phone.

A single message sent.

"Location confirmed. Warehouse 17. Alessandro will be there."

Sent.

To her real side.

Her crew.

The Russian Mafia.

They were ready now.

Waiting.

For Alessandro.

Back to Now

Isabella slipped her phone away, her face calm again.

"Then we go together," she said.

Alessandro studied her for a moment.

Long.

Hard.

Then—

He nodded.

"Lucas."

"Already on it," Lucas replied, stepping forward. "Ryan's team is geared."

Footsteps echoed.

Weapons clicked.

Men gathered.

Ryan stepped into the room, a blade tucked at his side, eyes sharp.

"Feels like a trap."

Alessandro smirked slightly.

"It is."

A pause.

"But we're walking into it anyway."

Preparation

The penthouse transformed again.

Vests.

Guns.

Ammo.

War.

Isabella stood still as one of the men handed her a weapon.

She took it.

Without hesitation.

Alessandro noticed.

"You know how to use that?" he asked.

She met his eyes.

"Yes."

A beat.

Something flickered in his gaze.

But he said nothing.

The Ride

Black SUVs tore through the streets once more.

Inside—

Silence.

Heavy.

Loaded.

Isabella sat beside Alessandro, her fingers gripping the weapon tightly.

Her mind racing.

Two sides.

Two outcomes.

If her crew succeeded—

Alessandro dies.

If Alessandro wins—

Her people fall.

Her chest tightened.

Beside her—

Alessandro spoke.

Quiet.

"When we get there…"

A pause.

"You stay behind me."

Her heart skipped.

"I can fight," she said.

"I know," he replied.

A beat.

"That's not why."

She turned slightly.

"Then why?"

His eyes met hers.

Dark.

Serious.

"Because I don't lose what's mine."

Her breath caught.

And for a second—

Guilt hit her hard.

The Warehouse

The cars stopped.

The building loomed ahead.

Dark.

Silent.

Waiting.

Too perfect.

"Positions," Lucian ordered.

Snipers moved.

Teams spread.

Weapons raised.

Ryan cracked his neck slightly.

"Let's make this quick."

Alessandro stepped forward.

And Isabella…

Followed.

Her heart pounding louder with every step.

Because she knew something they didn't.

This wasn't just Arabella's trap.

It was hers too.

Inside

The doors creaked open.

Darkness swallowed them.

Then—

A voice echoed.

"Right on time."

Lights flicked on.

Arabella stepped forward.

Smiling.

And behind her—

The hostage.

Still alive.

But that wasn't all.

From the shadows—

More figures emerged.

Different.

Not Moranos.

Not Arabella's men.

Her men.

The Russians.

Surrounding them.

Guns raised.

The air froze.

Lucas's voice dropped.

"…Boss."

Alessandro didn't move.

Didn't react.

But slowly…

His head turned.

Toward Isabella.

Their eyes met.

And in that moment—

Everything changed.

Because now—

He knew.

Or at least…

He suspected.

Silence.

Deadly.

"Interesting…" Alessandro said quietly.

A pause.

"Very interesting."

Isabella's grip tightened on her gun.

Her heart pounding like it might break through her chest.

Arabella laughed softly.

"Looks like your girl brought friends."

The war…

Was no longer outside.

It was between them.
