Chapter 79 - Mercy or Death

Mercy or Death

The battlefield stood still.

No wind.

No sound.

No movement.

Only two people existed in that moment.

The Devil…

And the girl who broke him.

Isabella knelt on the blood-soaked ground.

Her hands trembling.

Her tears falling freely.

"I'm sorry…" she whispered.

Her voice was weak.

Broken.

Real.

"I know I don't deserve anything from you…"

A shaky breath escaped her lips.

"I lied to you… used you… hurt you…"

Her fingers curled tightly against the ground.

"But everything I feel now…"

A tear dropped.

"…is real."

Silence.

Ryan stood in front of her.

Still.

Cold.

Unmoving.

His eyes…

Held no warmth.

Only darkness.

Slowly—

He raised his gun.

And pointed it straight at her head.

Gasps echoed from behind.

But no one dared step in.

Because this was not their moment.

This was judgment.

Isabella didn't run.

Didn't scream.

She looked up at him.

Tears in her eyes…

But something else too.

Peace.

"If you're going to do it…" she whispered softly.

A pause.

"…then do it."

Her lips trembled slightly.

"At least… I'll die knowing…"

A tear slipped down.

"…I loved you."

Ryan's finger tightened on the trigger.

His eyes locked onto hers.

Searching.

Burning.

Breaking.

Memories flashed—

Her smile.

Her voice.

Her warmth.

Then—

Her betrayal.

His mother's voice echoed again.

"Stay strong, Ryan…"

His grip trembled.

Just slightly.

The battlefield held its breath.

One second.

Two seconds.

Three—

💥 BANG.

A gunshot echoed.

Birds flew into the sky.

Dust rose from the ground.

Then—

Silence.

Complete.

Isabella's body jerked—

Then stilled.

A drop of blood fell to the ground.

But—

Not from her.

Behind her—

A body dropped.

One of the hidden snipers.

Dead.

Ryan lowered the gun slowly.

His chest rose and fell.

Heavy.

Unstable.

Then—

Without a word—

He turned.

And walked away.

Leaving her there.

Alive.

But not forgiven.

Final Line

Because sometimes…

Death is mercy.

And what he gave her instead—

Was something far more painful.

To live…

Without his lovee.

Did Ryan make the right choice?

Should he have killed her… or forgiven her?

Type:

"KILL" or "FORGIVE"
