Chapter 82 - This Is Only the Beginning

This Is Only the Beginning

Deep beneath the mansion—

Where light barely reached…

Where even silence felt afraid—

There was a room.

Cold.

Damp.

Unforgiving.

And inside it—

Alex.

Chained.

Broken.

Breathing…

But barely living.

The smell was unbearable.

Rotting flesh.

Decay.

Death.

Because he wasn't alone.

Two bodies lay beside him.

His son.

His daughter.

Lifeless.

Cold.

Unmoving.

Placed there deliberately.

So he could see them.

Every second.

Every breath.

Every moment he stayed alive.

Footsteps echoed.

Slow.

Heavy.

Familiar.

Alex's body trembled violently.

"No…" he whispered hoarsely. "No… please…"

The door creaked open.

And darkness shifted.

He stepped in.

Damian El Diablo Reyes.

The Devil King himself.

His presence alone suffocated the room.

He said nothing.

Did nothing.

He just stood there.

Watching.

Alex broke.

"Please…" he begged, tears streaming down his face.

"Just kill me… please… end it…"

Silence.

Damian walked closer.

Each step echoing like judgment.

He stopped right in front of him.

Looking down.

Cold.

Empty.

"No," he said quietly.

That single word—

Destroyed what little hope Alex had left.

"You don't get to die."

Alex shook his head desperately.

"I've lost everything… please… just kill me…"

Damian crouched down slowly.

Leaning closer.

Close enough for Alex to feel his breath.

"This…" Damian whispered.

A pause.

"…is only the beginning."

Fear unlike anything Alex had ever known filled his eyes.

Because death?

Was mercy.

And Damian?

Had no mercy left to give.

Days Turned to Hell

Every day—

Damian returned.

Not in anger.

Not in rage.

But in silence.

Cold.

Controlled.

Pain became routine.

Screams became normal.

Time lost meaning.

Alex begged.

Cried.

Broke.

"Kill me… please…"

Again.

And again.

But the answer never changed.

No.

Because this wasn't revenge anymore.

This was punishment.

For what he did to Ryan's family.

For the pain he caused.

For the life he destroyed.

And Damian?

He made sure Alex felt every second of it.

Final Scene

One night—

Alex looked up weakly.

His voice barely a whisper.

"Why… are you doing this…?"

Damian stood still.

Then spoke.

Calm.

Cold.

Unforgiving.

"Because…"

A pause.

"You let my mother suffer."

Silence.

"So now…"

"You will suffer more."

The light above flickered.

And darkness swallowed the room again.

Leaving Alex alone—

With the dead.

And a fate worse than death.

Is this justice… or has Damian become something worse than his enemies?
