Chapter 75 - Hunter And Prey

Hunter and Prey

The night swallowed everything.

Except them.

Lucas moved like a shadow through the empty streets, his steps silent, his eyes sharp.

Tracking.

Calculating.

Alex was running.

But not blindly.

A man like him didn't panic.

He planned.

Even while fleeing.

Lucas slowed as he entered an abandoned alley.

Too quiet.

Too still.

A trap.

His lips curved slightly.

"Predictable."

Click.

A sound behind him.

Lucas didn't turn.

"Thought you'd be faster," Alex's voice echoed.

Lucas sighed softly.

"You talk too much."

💥 Gunshot.

Lucas moved instantly.

The bullet missed him by inches, hitting the wall behind.

He spun—

Fired back.

Alex ducked, rolling behind cover.

Shots echoed through the alley, metal clashing, sparks flying.

Both men moved like predators.

Fast.

Precise.

Deadly.

But there was a difference.

Alex fought to survive.

Lucas fought to end it.

Silence fell for a second.

Then—

Footsteps.

Lucas shifted position quietly, disappearing into the shadows.

Alex frowned slightly.

"Come out," he muttered.

No response.

The air grew heavier.

Then—

A whisper.

"Behind you."

Alex turned—

Too late.

Lucas was already there.

A brutal strike—

💥

Alex hit the ground hard, the gun flying from his hand.

Before he could recover—

Lucas grabbed him, slamming him against the wall.

Hard.

Crack.

Pain shot through Alex's body.

Lucas pressed a gun to his head.

"End of the line."

Alex laughed.

Even now.

"You think this ends with me?" he said, blood at the corner of his lips.

Lucas's eyes didn't change.

"I don't care."

A pause.

"I was told to bring you back."

Alex smirked.

"Alive?"

Lucas tilted his head slightly.

"Not necessarily."

A flicker of tension.

For the first time—

Alex hesitated.

Then—

He moved.

Fast.

A hidden blade flashed—

Lucas caught his wrist mid-air.

Crushed it.

A sharp crack echoed.

Alex gasped, the knife falling from his hand.

Lucas didn't stop.

He drove his knee into Alex's stomach—

Then slammed him to the ground again.

Harder.

This time—

Alex didn't get up.

Lucas stepped over him slowly.

Gun raised.

Ready to finish it.

But then—

His phone buzzed.

He didn't take his eyes off Alex.

But he answered.

"Yes."

A voice came through.

Urgent.

"…Ryan found them."

Lucas froze for half a second.

Then his grip tightened.

"…His parents."

Silence.

Lucas's expression darkened.

Because he knew what that meant.

For Ryan.

For everyone.

He lowered the gun slightly.

Alex noticed.

And smiled.

"Looks like something more important came up," he said weakly.

Lucas stared at him.

Long.

Cold.

Then—

He made a decision.

He grabbed Alex by the collar—

Dragged him up like he weighed nothing.

"You're coming with me."

Alex didn't resist this time.

Because something told him—

The real storm…

Had just begun.
