Chapter 100 - Debt of the Devil

Debt of the Devil

Power didn't just come from control.

It came from dependency.

And Damian "El Diablo" Reyes understood that better than anyone.

The city was changing.

Not on the surface—

No.

To the outside world, everything looked the same.

Businesses opened.

Deals were made.

Money flowed.

But underneath…

Something new was growing.

Something dangerous.

Something inevitable.

A system built not on fear alone—

But on desperation.

A sleek office building stood in the heart of the financial district.

Clean.

Professional.

Respectable.

The name on the glass doors read:

REYES CAPITAL GROUP

To the public, it was just another financial firm.

Private lending.

Business recovery.

"Second chances."

But inside…

It was something else entirely.

Damian sat at the head of a long conference table, his fingers lightly tapping against the surface as he listened.

Around him, well-dressed men shifted nervously.

Businessmen.

Investors.

Tycoons.

Men who once held power…

And were now losing it.

"We can help you," Damian said calmly.

His voice smooth.

Reassuring.

Deadly.

One of the men leaned forward, desperation clear in his eyes. "Your terms… they're high."

Damian smiled faintly.

"High?" he repeated.

A pause.

"Or necessary?"

Silence.

Because they all knew the truth.

They didn't have options.

Banks had turned them away.

Investors had backed out.

Their empires were crumbling.

And Damian?

He was the only door left open.

"But we're offering you survival," Damian continued. "And survival always comes at a cost."

Another man hesitated. "The interest… it's unclear."

That made Damian lean back slightly, his expression almost amused.

"Everything is in the contract," he said.

And it was.

Buried.

Hidden beneath layers of legal language and fine print.

Twisted.

Calculated.

Invisible to desperate eyes.

Because desperation didn't read carefully.

Desperation signed.

One by one…

They agreed.

Pens hit paper.

Deals were sealed.

Hands were shaken.

And just like that—

They walked out believing they had been saved.

Hours later, the room was empty.

Only Damian and his closest men remained.

One of them stepped forward, a slight grin on his face.

"They have no idea, do they?"

Damian's lips curved slowly.

"No."

He stood, adjusting his suit as he walked toward the window overlooking the city.

"They think they borrowed money," he continued.

A pause.

"They didn't."

Another man frowned slightly. "Then what did they do?"

Damian stopped.

His reflection staring back at him like something far darker than human.

"They sold themselves."

Silence filled the room.

Heavy.

Cold.

Real.

"Ten times the amount," one of his men said under his breath. "They'll never be able to pay that back."

Damian didn't respond immediately.

Because that was the point.

"They won't," he said finally.

Calm.

Certain.

Unavoidable.

"And when they can't…"

He turned slowly, his eyes sharp, his presence overwhelming.

"We take everything."

Their companies.

Their assets.

Their influence.

Their power.

All of it.

Signed away…

Without them even realizing it.

Days passed.

Then weeks.

And just like Damian predicted—

The calls started coming in.

Desperate.

Panicked.

Broken.

"We need more time!"

"We can't meet the payments!"

"There must be a mistake!"

But there were no mistakes.

Only consequences.

And Damian didn't negotiate with consequences.

Back in his office, he stood in silence as another report was placed in front of him.

Defaults.

Failures.

Collapse.

Exactly as planned.

One of his men spoke carefully. "What about the ones who refuse?"

Damian picked up the file, glancing at it briefly.

A list of names.

Powerful names.

Falling names.

Then he closed it.

"If they don't pay…"

A pause.

His voice dropped slightly.

"They lose."

Not just money.

Everything.

Outside, the city kept moving.

Unaware.

Unchanged.

But beneath it all—

The balance of power was shifting again.

Quietly.

Efficiently.

Irreversibly.

Because Damian "El Diablo" Reyes had found something stronger than fear…

Stronger than threats…

Stronger than control…

Leverage.

And now—

The entire city was slowly falling into debt…

To the Devil.
