Chapter 271 - Meeting the Baby

Part 2: Meeting the Baby

Some moments…

They don't need to be planned.

They don't need perfection.

They just need the right people—

In the same room.

Laughing.

Loving.

Living.

A House Filled With Life

The mansion felt warmer than usual.

Not because of the weather.

But because of the people inside it.

Everyone had gathered in the sitting room.

Comfortable.

Relaxed.

Together.

Elara sat at the center of it all—

One hand resting gently on her stomach.

Her belly…

Now noticeably bigger.

Full.

Round.

Carrying life that would arrive any moment.

Damian sat close beside her—

Not saying much.

But always watching.

Always present.

Seraphina was on the floor—

Playing with her teddy bear.

Talking to it like it understood everything.

And across from them—

Luca sat proudly.

Beside him…

The woman who had just changed his life.

Her name was Isabella.

Soft eyes.

Calm presence.

A quiet strength that didn't need to be loud.

And in her arms—

Wrapped carefully in a light blanket…

Was their son.

Matteo.

Small.

Peaceful.

Completely unaware…

Of how much love had already surrounded him.

Seraphina Notices First

Seraphina suddenly stopped playing.

Her eyes moved—

Straight to Elara's stomach.

She stood up slowly.

Walking closer.

"…Mummy…"

Her voice soft.

Curious.

Elara looked down at her.

Smiling gently.

"…Yes, my love?"

Seraphina tilted her head slightly.

Her small hand reaching out—

Touching Elara's belly carefully.

"…Your belly is now bigger…"

A pause.

Then—

"…When will little Ryan come out?"

Silence—

For exactly one second.

Then—

Laughter filled the room.

Soft.

Warm.

Uncontrolled.

Even Isabella laughed.

Trying to keep it quiet so she wouldn't wake Matteo.

Luca laughed too—

Shaking his head.

Ethan leaned back slightly—

Smiling.

Amelia covered her mouth—

Trying not to laugh too loudly.

Elara Answers Gently

Elara placed her hand over Seraphina's.

"…Ryan will be out soon."

She said softly.

Seraphina's eyes lit up immediately.

"…WHEN?!"

She shouted.

More laughter.

Elara smiled patiently.

"…In a week."

Seraphina froze.

"…That's so far…"

"…A week time?"

Elara nodded gently.

Across the room—

Luca leaned toward Isabella slightly.

"…Guess she doesn't know what a week means."

He whispered.

Isabella smiled softly.

"…Kids are never patient."

The Innocent Request

Seraphina looked back at Elara—

Her face serious now.

"…Can't little Ryan come out tomorrow?"

The room exploded again.

Even Damian's lips twitched slightly.

Elara shook her head gently.

"…No."

Seraphina frowned slightly.

"…But I want to see him…"

Her voice dropped.

Almost emotional.

Damian Steps In

"…Enough, princess."

Damian said calmly.

"…You are disturbing your mother."

The room went quiet.

Seraphina looked at him.

Her eyes slowly filling with tears.

Then—

She turned away.

Walking back to Elara.

Hiding beside her.

Elara's expression changed immediately.

"…Don't yell at her."

She said firmly—

Looking straight at Damian.

Their eyes met.

And just like that—

He softened.

A Father's Soft Side

"…Come here, Seraphina."

Damian said quietly.

But she didn't move.

She stayed hidden beside Elara.

Until—

Elara gently pulled her forward.

"…Go to daddy."

She said softly.

Seraphina stepped out slowly.

Her eyes still wet.

Her small hand gripping her teddy bear tightly.

She looked around—

At everyone.

Then down at her teddy again.

Still not moving.

"…Please."

Damian said.

That word—

Soft.

Rare.

She looked up at him.

Then slowly—

She began to walk.

Each step careful.

Small.

Until she reached him.

Damian lifted her gently—

Placing her on his lap.

Immediately—

She buried her face in his chest.

The room softened.

Everyone watching quietly.

A Moment That Melted Everyone

"…It's okay, princess."

Damian murmured softly.

His hand tapping her back gently.

"…I don't want to see you cry."

"…Okay?"

Her voice came muffled.

"…But I want to see him…"

This time—

Almost crying again.

Damian exhaled slowly.

Then—

"…He's not going to come out if you cry."

Immediately—

Seraphina pulled back.

Wiping her eyes quickly.

"…I'm not crying anymore."

The room went silent.

Not because it wasn't funny—

But because everyone was trying not to laugh.

And Damian—

Was looking at all of them.

A look that clearly said:

Don't even try it.

The Little Lie That Saved the Day

"…The baby was going to come out tonight…"

Damian continued seriously.

"…But now he's not coming anymore."

Seraphina's head dropped instantly.

"…But…"

"…Do you want to know what he told me?"

Damian added.

She looked up immediately.

Curious.

"…Yes…"

She nodded quickly.

"…He said he wants to surprise you."

A pause.

"…So no one will know when he comes out."

"…He wants it to be a surprise."

"…What do you think?"

At this point—

Everyone was turning red.

Holding their laughter painfully.

Seraphina gasped softly.

"…I like it!"

"…He knows I love surprises!"

Damian nodded.

"…Of course he does."

"…He's your little king."

She giggled.

Her Big Plans

"…I can't wait to see him!"

Seraphina said excitedly.

"…I will buy him ice cream!"

"…And sweets!"

She paused.

Thinking deeply.

"…I know his favorite sweet will be strawberry."

"…I will buy it for him every day… from my pocket money."

Damian smiled slightly.

"…Then I will increase your pocket money."

"…So you can also buy him big teddy bears."

Her eyes widened.

"…Really?!"

"…Yes."

"…And when he's my age…"

She continued excitedly.

"…I will take him to a video game center!"

"…We will play all day!"

"…That sounds like a bad influence."

Ethan muttered.

"…That sounds like fun."

Amelia corrected.

Everyone laughed.

"…Yeah…"

Damian nodded slightly.

"…That's cool."

Luca Feels It Too

Luca had been quiet for a moment.

Watching everything.

Then suddenly—

"…Is this how being a father is?"

"…So… romantic?"

He wiped at his eyes quickly.

"…Why am I emotional?"

Everyone burst out laughing.

Except Damian.

"…So pathetic."

Damian said calmly.

That made it worse.

The laughter doubled.

Even Isabella couldn't hold it in anymore.

Ending in Warmth

Matteo stirred slightly in Isabella's arms.

A soft sound leaving him.

Everyone quieted down instantly.

Watching him.

"…He's so small…"

Seraphina whispered.

"…So is Ryan."

Elara said gently.

"…For now."

Damian's hand rested on Elara's stomach again.

Silent.

Protective.

And for that moment—

Everything felt complete.
