"Ashe, you and Tryndamere take the road back."
Caleb's voice was very calm, but Tryndamere immediately objected.
"Are you targeting me?"
"Are you serious right now?"
For a moment, Caleb once again began to doubt the structure of a Freljordian brain.
"Those warmbloods need protection. The Avarosan tribe led by Ashe also protects the weak."
"And you're her oathfather, so of course you should protect her on the road."
To Caleb, this was only a matter of a few thoughts. Unfortunately, this was not Piltover.
That meant he had to keep explaining his ideas out loud before people would understand them.
"Or should I go with Ashe instead?"
Caleb saw Tryndamere's face flush as if he wanted to say something, so he simply blocked him with one sentence.
"There may still be scattered troll stragglers outside. The two of you should have no problem dealing with them."
"And while you're at it, tell those hearthbound they can slow down. There's no need to rush."
"Any objections?"
Caleb looked around at the silent group and asked coldly.
Those words were not only meant to restrain the reckless Tryndamere, but also to ask for the opinions of the Winter's Claw.
"Fine. Then it's settled."
"You two should be able to catch up in less than two days."
Ashe sighed and silently nodded.
Caleb could certainly understand Tryndamere's fighting spirit. He could understand why Tryndamere had provoked a huge problem like Aatrox.
But right now, the ones Caleb was concerned about were those hearthbound.
"I'll be back in a few days."
Ashe had technically been dragged into this by Tryndamere, but she was still the Warmother of the Avarosans.
In the meeting with Lissandra, the other two Iceborn factions were extremely important.
But for now, they could only slow down and make finding Ornn their first priority.
He wondered if Ornn might come outside for a change of scenery once he had done enough forging.
Come out and have a chance encounter, maybe?
What gave Caleb more of a headache was how Tryndamere would face Aatrox if they ended up fighting side by side later.
If the two of them started fighting again, Aatrox really could stab Tryndamere to death for the sake of the Void.
He had killed an Aspect before. A mortal who believed in a demigod was nothing.
Dare to stand in his way against the Void?
Caleb guessed that when Aatrox had slaughtered his way into Tryndamere's tribe that day and ultimately left him alive, it had not been by accident.
It felt more like there had been some purpose behind it.
For a Darkin with a glorious history like Aatrox, there was no such thing as an ordinary mortal he could not kill.
The only exception was the consciousness that had reawakened inside the body of the dead Pantheon.
The one who had cut off Aatrox's arm.
As for Tryndamere, forget it.
Caleb waved goodbye to Ashe as she left, while Tryndamere did not say anything.
To Caleb, Tryndamere had already walked to the opposite side of him in this matter.
From the sound of Aatrox's words, his slaughter back then had actually had a reason.
Although Caleb also felt that this was absolutely absurd. Apparently, only after an entire tribe was wiped out, leaving only Tryndamere and a few remnants, could he survive.
Now Caleb was even more curious about that old story.
"I saw a ram among your beast spirits?"
Caleb thought of the appearance of that god of forge and craft, and he could not help making the connection.
"You want to use the beast spirits to find Ornn?"
Udyr looked somewhat troubled. After all, his communication with the beast spirits was still at the most basic stage of asking for power.
When it came to deeper communication, he had not fully mastered the trick.
"I'll try."
After receiving Caleb's affirmative answer, Udyr sank into meditation.
The sky was getting late, and Caleb was not in a hurry to travel. He simply set up camp here.
"What are we eating tonight?"
Kai'Sa's eyes were filled with anticipation, while Caleb took out something brand new.
"Campfire chili pot. Ever had it?"
The northern Freljord, with its extremely low temperature, was indeed bitterly cold.
"These skewers are even longer than the ones from that spicy instant noodle meal."
"And it's so hot!"
Looking at the steaming pot and the red broth, Yuumi was a little troubled.
"A cat's tongue probably isn't suited for this kind of thing."
Seeing Yuumi's reluctant expression, Caleb could not help smiling.
"Oh, that's a big pot you've got today. How do we eat it?"
Just as they were chatting, Sejuani and Olaf also came over.
"Can you two handle spicy food?"
Caleb seriously suspected that the Freljord simply did not have anything like spice.
But maybe spice was a good way to fight the cold.
Ten minutes later.
"Hiss… snow, snow, snow…"
Olaf, who was usually full of rage, now felt as if fire were burning in his stomach.
He grabbed a handful of clean snow to cool his burning mouth.
Earlier, it had felt as if his entire body were on fire.
"Is this kind of ingredient really edible? You didn't poison the broth, did you?"
Sejuani's expression did not look good either. The heat was enough to make even her struggle.
Kai'Sa, on the other hand, gradually adapted to it. She had tried something similar before in the deserts of Shurima.
So here, in this bitterly cold land, it actually brought a trace of warmth.
"After this, are we going to look for Ornn first?"
Sejuani did not want to waste time either. She did not think that a team without Ashe and Tryndamere would be unable to deal with Lissandra.
"We still need to wait for Ashe and the others."
Caleb's plan was not to confront Lissandra head-on, but to confront the Void head-on.
After all, when the Void destroyed a region, it often happened in the blink of an eye.
If they could borrow Lissandra's power, that would naturally be the best outcome.
Caleb now had to do everything he could to avoid internal conflict and invest as much strength as possible into resisting the Void.
If they really could not hold on, then they would have to request reinforcements from Shurima.
When the sky fell, the heavy hitters could deal with it. That would be more than enough for the demigods, Noxus, and Demacia to have their hands full.
"That meal has some kick!"
Olaf's face was even redder than usual. It seemed this was his first time encountering such spicy food.
"We've got to eat like this again when there's time!"
Everything about this campfire chili pot was good, except that it had to be cooked and eaten fresh.
It took too much work, so of course it could not be used in an emergency.
"How's Udyr doing?"
Seeing that he was still sitting motionless, Caleb was a little worried too.
After all, no one could say for sure when it came to mystical things like this.
If Udyr suffered a backlash, Caleb would still have to treat him.
Hm… judging from the recovery ability Udyr had shown earlier, Caleb also felt that his limited medical skills probably would not be of much use.
"He's still deep in contemplation. After that, it'll depend on the beast spirits' will."
Caleb looked worriedly at Udyr, who had entered a meditative state, then still went into his own tent.
Hm… even with only Olaf here, his snoring could still be described as thunderous.
…
In Piltover, Viktor and his mentor were looking at a massive arm.
This arm would later be assembled onto the body of a giant machine.
The moment they thought of that robot capable of turning into a gigantic drill, a surge of passion naturally rose in both their chests.
When the time came, a giant machine like that could reshape all of Zaun's low-lying terrain.
How great a thing it was for human effort to conquer nature.
Jinx staggered along the streets of Zaun.
She paid no attention to the pedestrians passing by, but something seemed to be burning in her eyes.
