Chapter 241 - Chapter 241: First Meeting with Akatsuki

The terrain grew increasingly jagged as Saiki reached the border of the Land of Grass.

He was a silent bolt of lightning, weaving through dense forests and over sheer cliffs.

He had suppressed most of his aura, but his sheer speed and the faint, rolling pressure of his presence were like stones dropped into a stagnant pond. They sent ripples through the dark undercurrents of the front lines.

News of Konoha's internal collapse and the arrival of a "special reinforcement" had spread like wildfire. Through various hidden channels, it had already reached the ears of the Hidden Stone, the Hidden Rain, and the third-party vultures circling the battlefield.

Orochimaru had received the intel but chose to wait in the shadows like a coiled viper.

He was more than happy to watch this boy—who had decapitated the Leaf's leadership—stir the pot on the front lines first.

The first to react were the commanders of the Stone-Rain alliance.

"Reinforcements from the Leaf? Just one? And a boy?" Onoki, the Third Tsuchikage, hovered in the air, his diminutive frame radiating an immense pressure as he studied the blurry report. "What is the Leaf playing at? Have they run out of men? Or... is there something special about this brat? Could it be a stall tactic?"

"According to the last desperate transmission from our mole in Konoha, the boy is named Saiki Shiroya. He is intimately connected to Tsunade. He appears to be the primary catalyst for the recent purge," a Jonin reported. "His strength is estimated to be extreme, but his methods are unknown. He likely possesses an undocumented Bloodline Limit or Secret Art."

"Unknown?" Hanzo of the Salamander's voice came through his mask, heavy with skepticism and weight. "At a time like this, the Leaf sending an 'Unknown' is either a move of total desperation... or they have an absolute trump card. We cannot let him reach the main camp."

Onoki nodded, a sharp glint in his clouded eyes. "Send an elite squad to 'greet' him. Remember, this is a probe, not a duel. Map his abilities. I want to know what this 'unknown' power looks like."

...

At the same time, within the borders of the Land of Rain, a three-person cell led by a young man named Yahiko received the same intel. They wore matching conical hats with wind-chimes and a red cloud pattern.

"The Stone and Rain have dispatched an interception force for a young Konoha reinforcement?" Yahiko pushed his hat back, revealing a face full of idealistic fire. "We can't let this senseless slaughter continue! We have to stop it!"

"Yahiko, the situation is unclear. Intervening in a clash between two Great Villages is suicide," Konan whispered. Her voice was clear, her tone laced with a girl's natural caution.

"But that is the reason 'Akatsuki' was founded, isn't it?" Nagato added softly, his Rinnegan shimmering behind his hair. "To end conflict through dialogue and understanding. If we run because it's dangerous, our ideals will never be more than dreams."

Yahiko nodded firmly. "Exactly. we won't judge who is right or wrong. We go to stop the fighting. If we can save this Konoha ninja, maybe we can open a window for a real conversation. Let's move!"

...

Unfazed and unhurried, Saiki had traveled for a day and a night. He would reach the front by late afternoon.

He was currently crossing a desolate valley filled with jagged, wind-carved rocks. His Divine Sense had already locked onto several hostile chakra signatures lying in ambush ahead.

He stopped walking, his expression flat.

"Of course. No one ever lets me just walk in," he sighed, sounding genuinely annoyed.

"Come out." His voice wasn't loud, but it carried a freezing resonance that echoed through the valley.

The response was a sudden explosion of killing intent!

"Earth Style: Rock Pillar Spears!"

"Water Style: Exploding Water Colliding Wave!"

"Poison Style: Toxic Mist Spray!"

Several silhouettes erupted from behind boulders and from beneath the earth in a perfectly coordinated strike.

Jagged stone lances tore through the ground, a massive wall of water crashed down like a hammer, and a dark green cloud of neurotoxin blanketed the area, sealing every exit.

Faced with this lethal combination, Saiki moved.

He didn't retreat. He took a single step forward.

His body blurred into an afterimage, twisting with microscopic precision to avoid the stone spears.

He didn't even bother dodging the incoming tidal wave. He simply raised his hand, fingers held like a blade, and made a casual downward stroke.

CHIIING!

A blade of condensed chakra manifested from thin air, bisecting the massive volume of water as if it were warm butter.

The severed wave crashed into the rocks on either side of him with a roar, but Saiki remained perfectly dry, not a single drop of water touching his clothes.

The poison mist enveloped him, but a second later, an invisible barrier around his body caused the toxin to evaporate the moment it came within a foot of his skin.

And then, he drew his sword.

The blade-light wasn't blinding, yet it moved faster than the human eye could process.

The first spray of blood erupted.

A Rain ninja lunging from the flank with a kunai froze mid-air.

A thin red line appeared across his throat. A heartbeat later, his head tilted and rolled off his shoulders, his expression frozen in disbelief. His neck sprayed a fountain of gore like a burst water bag.

Saiki was no longer at the point of impact.

He moved through the valley like a man taking a leisurely stroll through a garden.

Every swing of his blade was precise and utterly cold.

SPLAT! A Stone ninja was bisected from his left shoulder to his right hip. His intestines and blood painted the ground. He actually had a second to look at his own lower half before he died.

CRACK! Another ninja attempting to weave signs had both arms severed at the shoulder. As his limbs flew into the air, a second flash of steel sent his head spinning into the sky.

The blade hissed through the air. A Rain ninja hiding behind a boulder was cut in half along with the rock itself. His upper body slid to the ground, his entrails trailing behind him.

Someone tried to use Earth Style to dive underground. Halfway through the transition, the ground exploded. Saiki's blade-tip pierced his spine, hoisting him out of the dirt like a fish on a hook. With a casual flick, the broken corpse was slammed into the canyon wall, leaving a massive crimson smear.

There were no flashy Ninjutsu clashes. This was pure, high-efficiency slaughter.

Every flicker of the blade claimed a life. The deaths were horrific—decapitations, disembowelments, and severed limbs.

Severed parts were scattered everywhere. The brown earth and grey rocks were painted a steaming, vibrant red. The heavy, metallic scent of fresh blood filled the valley, enough to make a veteran retch.

Yet, in the center of this slaughterhouse, Saiki remained immaculate.

His movements were graceful. Every step was calculated to avoid the blood-spray. His white chakra acted as a pristine shield, keeping the filth away.

He didn't look like he was killing; he looked like he was finishing a cruel piece of art. His pace was steady, his eyes a bottomless pool of indifference.

In less than ninety seconds, the valley returned to a tomb-like silence.

The previously arrogant ambushers were now nothing but a collection of mangled meat.

Blood pooled and began to flow into tiny, crimson streams.

The stench was thick enough to be physical.

Saiki stood in the center of the carnage, slowly clicking his sword back into its sheath.

His breathing wasn't even elevated. To him, this was no different than swatting a few annoying flies.

He prepared to leave, but his gaze shifted to a high ridge on the side of the valley.

There, three figures in red-cloud hats stood frozen in shock. It was Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan.

They had arrived a step too late, witnessing only the bloody finale of the massacre.

Though they had lived through war, this level of efficient, cold-blooded butchery—a literal human slaughterhouse—shook them to their cores.

Konan instinctively covered her mouth, her face bone-white beneath her hat. She thought the boy was a demon.

Nagato's Rinnegan pulsed as he sensed more than the others.

The chakra rolling off Saiki was as deep as an ocean, yet perfectly contained and tranquil. It made his heart skip a beat in fear.

This was no ordinary ninja.

Yahiko stared at the mangled remains in the valley, his fists clenching so hard his body shook. His belief in dialogue and peace was taking a catastrophic hit in this moment.

Saiki's gaze swept over the three of them. For a heartbeat, his eyes met theirs—flat, devoid of triumph, and lacking any post-slaughter bloodlust. There was only a void of indifference.

He lingered on Nagato for an extra second, recognizing the ripple-patterned eyes.

Ah, the Akatsuki of this era.

As for Konan, she was certainly beautiful, but after slaughtering so many people, Saiki's brain wasn't quite ready to pivot to thoughts of procreation just yet.

Without a word, he turned to leave.

Yahiko took a deep breath, suppressing his horror. His voice came from beneath his hat, urgent and full of desperate goodwill. "Wait! Please! We have no ill intent! We are 'Akatsuki'! We came to stop the war!"

Saiki paused and gave Yahiko a strange look. "Stop the war? Just the three of you? With what?" His tone was flat, lacking both anger and mockery.

Yahiko's face turned beet-red at the bluntness. "We know! We know it's hard! But... fighting and hatred only breed more of the same. Only when all sides sit down to talk can we find a path to peace..."

His words were full of idealistic fire, but against the backdrop of "minced meat" littering the valley, they sounded hollow and pathetic.

Saiki looked at them, specifically at Yahiko's determined eyes. He was silent for a moment.

He understood the ideal. For a fleeting second, he even found the innocence... annoying.

"A nice thought," Saiki finally spoke, his tone unchanged. "But only if you have the power to force everyone to 'sit down' in the first place. And only if you recognize how cruel this world actually is."

He didn't say more. Ignoring the complex stares of the trio, he transformed into a blur of motion and vanished toward the other end of the valley, continuing his march toward the Konoha camp.

On the ridge, Yahiko tightened his fists, Saiki's final words echoing in his ears.

"Power to make them sit... recognize the cruelty..." he muttered. A flash of doubt crossed his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by a firmer resolve. "No matter how hard it is, I will follow this path!"

Nagato watched the direction Saiki had gone, his eyes grave.

That Konoha youth had exerted a pressure he had never felt before. It made him fear for Yahiko's dream in a way he couldn't put into words.

Madara Uchiha had almost killed Kushina by summoning the Nine-Tails away. Saiki technically should have attacked Nagato right then and there to reclaim the eyes.

But his condition wasn't peak, despite his sessions with Tsunade, Kushina, and Nono'u.

If he engaged "Madara's shadow" now, he wouldn't have the strength left to settle the front line.

Meanwhile, back at the Konoha main camp, Orochimaru received the news that his interception squad had been annihilated in an instant. The golden light in his eyes flared with a mix of hunger and excitement.

"An entire elite squad gone in a heartbeat... clean, decisive, and without even using a proper jutsu? Such mastery over raw power... Saiki-kun, you are becoming a true obsession. That strength, that mindset... hehehe..."

He chuckled softly, his silhouette sinking into the shadows as he began to rewrite his plans.

Saiki's bloody and efficient entrance had officially dropped a heavy-weight bomb onto the political landscape of the front lines.
