Chapter 6 - Jujutsu Kaisen: Echoes of the Abyss

The moment the Domain closed—

Reality stopped making sense.

Yuji took a step forward—

And nearly fell sideways.

"…What the—?!"

The "ground" beneath him shifted, tilting at impossible angles. Paths stretched and bent, intersecting like a maze that refused to stay still.

Megumi steadied himself. "…Careful. Orientation is meaningless here."

Nobara clicked her tongue. "Yeah, no kidding."

Every direction felt wrong.

Up wasn't up.

Forward wasn't forward.

And worst of all—

Kurotsume stood perfectly still at the center.

Unaffected.

---

### **Guaranteed Hit**

"…Within a Domain," Megumi said quickly, "the user's technique is guaranteed to hit."

Yuji frowned. "But we can't even reach them!"

"Exactly," Megumi replied.

As if on cue—

The space around Yuji twisted.

A path formed beneath his feet—

Then *curved upward*, forcing his body along it.

"HEY—!"

He was yanked sideways—

Straight into an invisible force—

"GHH—!"

A crushing impact slammed into his ribs.

No attack.

No movement.

Just—

*inevitable contact.*

Nobara shouted, "Yuji!"

Kurotsume's voice echoed calmly.

"Every path you take… leads where I decide."

---

### **Trapped in Motion**

Megumi tried to move strategically—

But the moment he stepped—

The path beneath him bent sharply.

His body followed involuntarily—

A sudden twist—

A strike hit his shoulder from nowhere.

"Tch—!"

He gritted his teeth.

"…It's not just redirection anymore."

Nobara attempted to anchor herself—

Driving a nail into the ground—

But the "ground" shifted like liquid space.

Her footing slipped—

Another invisible impact struck her side.

"…This is insane!"

Kurotsume watched them struggle.

"…You cannot win here."

Their voice was steady.

Certain.

"In this space, even your instincts betray you."

---

### **Yuji's Struggle**

Yuji forced himself up again.

Breathing uneven.

Body already taking damage.

"…Think…"

He stepped—

The path twisted—

He braced—

Another impact—

"GHH—!"

He slammed into nothing.

Pain shot through his body.

Inside—

Sukuna laughed.

"This is pathetic."

Yuji snapped back mentally, "Then do something!"

Sukuna's grin widened in the darkness.

"Why would I?"

A pause.

"You're the one who wanted to grow."

Yuji clenched his teeth.

"…Damn it."

---

### **Understanding the Domain**

Megumi's eyes scanned constantly.

Tracking.

Analyzing.

*The domain forces movement along predetermined paths…*

*And those paths guarantee impact…*

"…Then we don't move," he said suddenly.

Nobara blinked. "What?"

Megumi steadied himself. "If we don't follow the paths—"

The space beneath him shifted violently.

Forcing movement anyway.

He winced.

"…No… it forces movement regardless."

Yuji exhaled sharply. "So we're stuck getting hit?"

Megumi's expression hardened.

"…Unless we break the rules."

---

### **The Only Counter**

Nobara narrowed her eyes. "And how exactly do we do that?"

Megumi didn't answer immediately.

Then—

"…A domain can be countered by another domain."

Silence.

Yuji looked at him. "…You can do that?"

Megumi didn't respond right away.

Because the answer wasn't simple.

"…Not completely," he admitted.

"But…"

His cursed energy began to rise.

"…I can interfere."

---

### **Megumi's Gamble**

Kurotsume noticed immediately.

"…Oh?"

Megumi formed a hand sign.

Slowly.

Carefully.

"Don't expect perfection," he muttered.

The shadows beneath him began to spread—

Unstable—

Incomplete—

But present.

"**Domain Expansion…**"

The space trembled.

Kurotsume's eyes sharpened slightly.

"…Interesting."

Megumi's voice was low.

"**Chimera Shadow Garden.**"

---

### **Collision of Domains**

For a moment—

The world split.

Kurotsume's fractured paths—

And Megumi's flowing shadows—

Clashed.

Not fully.

Not evenly.

But enough.

The rigid, controlled paths began to distort—

Just slightly—

Just enough—

Yuji felt it immediately.

"…The pressure changed."

Nobara steadied herself. "Yeah… I can move."

Megumi exhaled, strain visible.

"…It won't last long."

Kurotsume observed calmly.

"…Incomplete. But effective."

Their smile returned.

"Very well."

Their domain surged again—

Pushing back.

Megumi gritted his teeth.

"…Yuji… now!"

---

### **Final Push**

Yuji didn't hesitate.

He moved—

But not recklessly.

Not blindly.

Now—

There was space.

Freedom.

Even if only a little.

He closed the distance.

Kurotsume watched him approach.

"…You think this changes anything?"

Yuji shook his head.

"…No."

He clenched his fist.

Cursed energy surged—

But different again.

Deeper.

More refined.

"…I just need one hit."

Kurotsume raised their hand—

Trying to redirect—

But the domain interference disrupted the path—

Just enough—

Yuji stepped through—

"…Got you."

---

### **Beyond Instinct**

This time—

He didn't rely on chaos.

Didn't rely on pure instinct.

He combined both.

Control—

And unpredictability.

Flow—

And disruption.

Everything aligned.

"…This is mine."

His fist moved—

Not along a path—

But *through* the space between them.

"**SYNCHRONIZED IMPACT.**"

---

### **The Break**

The hit landed.

Direct.

Unavoidable.

Kurotsume's eyes widened—

For the first time—

Genuine surprise.

The impact didn't explode outward—

It compressed inward—

Striking deeper than before.

A crack formed—

Not on their body—

But in the domain itself.

"…Impossible—"

The fracture spread.

Across the space.

Across the paths.

Across the entire domain.

Megumi dropped to one knee.

"…That's it…"

Nobara grinned. "Break it!"

Yuji stepped forward again—

One more strike—

The crack shattered—

---

### **Domain Collapse**

The world snapped back.

The city returned.

The sky above stabilized.

Kurotsume stood still—

Breathing slightly heavier now.

But still standing.

Yuji exhaled.

"…We did it."

Megumi steadied himself. "…Yeah."

Nobara rolled her shoulder. "That sucked."

But—

Kurotsume started laughing.

Softly.

"…Wonderful."

Yuji frowned. "…What?"

Kurotsume looked at them—

Eyes sharper than ever.

"…You've grown far beyond expectations."

Their cursed energy rose again—

Not weaker—

But *sharper.*

More dangerous.

"…Which means…"

A pause.

"…I can finally stop holding back."

---

### **A Fight Not Yet Over**

Yuji's expression hardened.

"…You weren't serious?"

Kurotsume smiled.

"Not yet."

The air grew heavy again.

Darker.

Denser.

Something deeper was coming.

Megumi clenched his fists. "…This isn't good."

Nobara smirked anyway. "When is it ever?"

Yuji stepped forward.

Tired.

Injured.

But ready.

"…Then bring it."

Kurotsume raised a hand—

And the space around them began to distort again—

Different this time.

More focused.

More precise.

"…Let's begin the real experiment."
