Chapter 157 - Chapter 157: The Storm Guardian Gokudera vs. Fierce Wolf Bete

Haruhime & Aisha's Side

"Triple Bomb."

Holding triple the amount of dynamite as before, the silver-haired youth lit the fuses.

Gokudera Hayato. The Storm Guardian of the 10th Famiglia. Known in the underworld as the "Human Bombing Machine" and "Smoking Bomb" due to carrying dynamite all over his body. He was the only mid-range support specialist among the Guardians, and his loyalty to Tsuna was absolute. His ultimate goal and sole reason for living was to become Tsuna's right-hand man, a position he devoted himself to mastering every single day.

Without a moment's hesitation, Gokudera hurled the massive cluster of bombs straight at Bete.

This guy is completely insane!

Realizing he couldn't possibly deflect all their trajectories, Bete leaped back to evade the blast zone.

Since dynamite didn't exist in this world, Bete had no idea what the objects were, though he knew of Magic Items that exploded. However, he had never heard of a lunatic carrying this many explosives on his person. For the first time, a shiver of dread crawled down Bete's spine.

Recognizing Gokudera as a lethal threat, Bete refused to give him an inch to breathe. Using his overwhelming speed, he blitzed straight through the lingering smoke, aiming to hunt Gokudera down via the shortest possible route.

Bursting through the smoke, Bete locked eyes with Gokudera, who already had another set of bombs primed in his hands.

"...!?"

But as Bete kicked off the ground to take to the air, the cobblestones beneath him suddenly exploded.

This bastard...!?

While the initial smokescreen had blocked his vision, Gokudera had planted bombs on the ground. By holding fresh bombs and taking an interception stance, he had intentionally drawn Bete's focus upward, completely removing his awareness from the floor.

"Too slow."

Gokudera then hurled the lit bombs in his hands straight at the airborne werewolf.

"Rocket Bomb."

Mid-flight, the bombs suddenly accelerated, homing in on Bete with terrifying speed.

Rocket Bomb. A technique that utilized internal propellants to alter the dynamite's trajectory twice mid-flight, turning the explosive itself into a high-speed projectile. Originally a technique used by the assassin Dr. Shamal—the man who had taught Gokudera how to use dynamite—Gokudera had mastered it after agonizing training during the Ring Conflict.

"Tch!"

Shocked by the sudden acceleration, Bete violently swept his right leg, kicking the bombs off their trajectory and sending them plummeting back down toward Gokudera.

"Uri. Cambio Forma."

Even with his own explosives raining down on him, Gokudera didn't so much as flinch.

"H-Hey!"

Someone—Aisha wasn't sure who—reflexively screamed, while Haruhime was entirely at a loss for words. Bete simply stared into the resulting explosion in silence.

"Sistema Cambio Arma Istantaneo"

When the smoke cleared, Gokudera stood completely unharmed. He was now equipped with a belt lined with dynamite, sunglasses, and a pipe in his mouth. Surrounding him, floating freely in the air, were multiple transparent, bone-themed shields forming an absolute defensive perimeter.

"You've got good instincts. But I've completely sealed your nose."

This guy... from the very beginning...

The alleyway was now completely saturated with the pungent scent of gunpowder. Thanks to the overwhelming stench, Bete could no longer track his opponent's location via smell.

Spamming bombs initially to feign a lack of mobility and slow detonation times. Using planted explosives to force Bete into the air. Throwing accelerating bombs to shake him up and secure the kill. Even if the kill failed, the resulting explosions completely neutralized the beastman's most troublesome trait. Tracing the entire sequence of events, Bete realized that this silver-haired punk possessed an utterly terrifying intellect.

Because he was hot-blooded and constantly bared his fangs at anyone who wasn't Tsuna, Gokudera was often misunderstood. In reality, he possessed the sharpest tactical mind of all the Guardians.

"Hurry up and get out of here. You've got a job to do, don't you?"

"...Just who the hell are you? Why are you helping us?"

Aisha was helping the Hestia Familia out of respect for Lord Hermes's wishes, to protect her little sister figure Haruhime, and to repay the debt she owed Tsuna for saving her. But Gokudera was a complete outsider. She couldn't fathom why he was taking their side.

"Orders from our Boss. He told us to protect you guys."

"Boss...?"

"The 10th... I'm talking about Sawada-san."

"""—!?"""

Hearing Tsuna's name drop from his lips, Haruhime, Aisha, and Bete froze in sheer shock.

Even Haruhime didn't know...!?

They kept us in the dark...?

The fact that even a member of his own Familia hadn't been told about Gokudera's existence left Aisha and Bete reeling.

"Tsunayoshi-sama never mentioned this to us!"

"The enemy boss is a sharp bastard, so he couldn't say anything. If our existence leaked, they would have formulated countermeasures against us," Gokudera answered her panicked question with cold, calculated logic.

"My friends are holding off their executives right now. Hurry up and go."

"B-But..."

"Don't lose sight of your objective. Your goal isn't to beat this guy. Even as we stand here, there are people desperately waiting for your help."

"...!?"

Aside from the Xenos with Fels, the rest of the monsters were still scattered and unaccounted for. The terrified faces of the Xenos flashed through Haruhime's mind.

"I can't do your job for you. So I'll handle what you can't."

This punk... he really isn't a small fry...

To an outsider, an unknown adventurer challenging a Level 6 was a suicidal joke. Usually, Bete would have mocked him and kicked his teeth in. But staring into Gokudera's eyes, Bete saw the exact same glint shared by every true warrior he had ever acknowledged.

"Go."

"Yes!"

Spurred by Gokudera's words and reaffirming her duty, Haruhime dashed down the street.

Those eyes... they're identical...

Aisha grabbed her greatsword, using it as a crutch to limp out of the blast zone so she wouldn't be in the way. Looking back, she realized Gokudera had the exact same eyes Tsuna had shown when they first met.

"Now I can finally cut loose. I'll just beat you into the pavement like the rest of them, and we can wrap this up."

"Don't get cocky, you loud-mouthed piece of sh*t."

"Then I'll gladly show you. The power of the Vongola."

Lighting his pipe with crimson Storm flames, Gokudera took his stance. Bete crouched, ready to slaughter.

Bete moved first. Smashing his fist into the cobblestones, he kicked up a massive cloud of dust and debris, blinding Gokudera.

"Die."

Emerging directly above Gokudera's blind spot, Bete brought his heel down like an executioner's axe.

"Naive."

"...!?"

The floating shields autonomously shifted upward, perfectly blocking Bete's crushing heel drop. Bete's eyes widened; he had intended to shatter the barrier, but it hadn't even cracked.

Gokudera possessed not only Storm flames, but also Rain, Sun, Lightning, and Cloud wave energy. By coating the Storm flame shields with a layer of Rain flames, he utilized the Rain's "Tranquility" characteristic to sap the kinetic energy from Bete's kick, neutralizing its destructive power before the Storm flames absorbed the impact.

"Rocket Bomb Version X."

Turning to face the suspended werewolf, Gokudera ignited his bombs and tossed them straight up. The bombs curved around the edges of the shield, flying up to pincer Bete from both sides.

Twisting his body into a fierce mid-air spin, Bete used the wind pressure of his kicks to violently alter the bombs' trajectories. A split second later, the sky detonated.

Not only do they have speed, but the dmn things track you too!*

Realizing the Vongola Gear bombs boasted enhanced speed, power, and homing capabilities, Bete kicked off the edge of the shield, plummeting toward the ground. Before the shields could reposition to the front, he launched a lethal ambush at Gokudera's exposed back.

"Too slow."

"...!?"

Without even turning around, Gokudera casually dropped unlit bombs onto the ground around him. Bete instantly leaped backward, clearing the blast radius.

"Zero Ignition!"

But the bombs didn't explode. Instead, they violently expelled a massive smokescreen, completely engulfing Gokudera's figure.

Zero Ignition. A specialized bomb that detonated without a spark, instantly generating a massive area-of-effect smokescreen.

Straining his ears, Bete heard Gokudera's footsteps rapidly retreating into the distance.

Trying to reposition somewhere more advantageous, huh?

Given the nature of explosives, a battlefield with obstacles and tight corridors maximized their lethality. Bete deduced that Gokudera was using the smoke to retreat to a location with multiple blind spots, effectively neutralizing Bete's high-speed mobility. Kicking off the walls, Bete scaled a nearby building, running across the rooftops to cut him off.

Eliminating the armed monsters was his primary objective. But Bete wasn't the kind of man to turn his back on a fight, especially when he had been thoroughly insulted. If he were, he would have ignored Aisha and Haruhime entirely to focus on his mission.

Down there...

Just as he predicted, his ears picked up Gokudera moving through a narrow alleyway below. Dropping from the roof like a falling star, Bete intended to crush him from above before he could pull any more tricks.

"...!?"

But when he landed, Gokudera was nowhere to be found. Instead, hovering in the air was a small, propeller-driven device attached to a rectangular machine.

It was the same speaker-equipped flame decoy Tsuna had used during the Choice game.

During the Representative Battle of the Rainbow, Tsuna and his team had hidden heartbeat speakers and flame emitters inside dummy dolls to successfully deceive Vindice. Realizing the tactical value of a decoy, Gokudera had personally requested Irie Shoichi to convert the concept into a Box Weapon after the battle.

Knowing the beastmen's traits in advance, Gokudera had pre-recorded his own footsteps into the decoy. By sending it into the alleyway, he had perfectly manipulated Bete's superhuman hearing. He had sealed Bete's nose with gunpowder and his eyes with smoke explicitly to set up this auditory trap.

"Fell right for it, you d*mn mutt."

Standing at the entrance of the alleyway, Gokudera tossed a single bomb into the narrow corridor.

"Air Bomb!"

The bomb ruptured, violently expelling a massive blast of compressed air alongside a thick cloud of brown powder.

Poison!?

Covered in the dust, Bete immediately covered his mouth and kicked rapidly between the narrow walls, desperate to escape to the roof.

Though Bete possessed the Abnormal Resistance development ability, resistance skills had ranks just like standard statuses. If a poison's potency exceeded his resistance rank, he would succumb. Not knowing what the powder was, retreating was his only option.

"It's not poison. It's bait."

"...!?"

Just as Gokudera accurately called out his thoughts, Bete heard the agonizingly close hiss of a burning fuse from above. Looking up, he saw a cat wreathed in Storm flames free-falling right toward him.

"I told you, didn't I? I'm gonna show you our power."

Gatto Tempesta. Gokudera's Box Animal, which he had named Uri.

"Uri Bomb."

Uri detonated point-blank. Completely caught off guard by the suicidal animal attack, Bete was blasted violently back down into the alleyway.

Uri Bomb. A surprise suicide-attack technique that turned Uri into a living payload.

The Air Bomb usually released compressed air to blow targets away. However, Gokudera had packed this specific bomb with a massive quantity of pure, concentrated catnip. By detonating it in the enclosed space, he had coated Bete head-to-toe in the irresistible feline bait. Then, he simply dropped Uri from above for a guaranteed homing strike.

Against SHITT.P, he had planted the catnip directly on her person. But against a high-speed melee fighter like Bete, doing so manually was impossible. Using the Air Bomb as an aerosol delivery system was his tactical workaround.

"Jet Rocket Bomb!"

"...!?"

This time, the bombs accelerated at several times the speed of his previous throws. They detonated with exponentially greater force, unleashing a chain reaction of explosions that violently tore the alleyway apart, collapsing the surrounding walls in a cascade of rubble.

"Looks like you couldn't adapt to the sudden change in specs."

Sistema Cambio Arma Istantaneo stood for the Instantaneous Weapon Change System.

Gokudera had drawn a pre-prepared Sun ring, using its Sun flames to ignite his pipe, which in turn lit the bomb fuses. The Sun's unique "Activation" characteristic hyper-accelerated the bombs' velocity and explosive yield.

Because the first Vongola Gear bombs Gokudera had thrown were standard Storm variants, Bete had subconsciously registered that speed and power as his maximum output. When the sudden spike in speed occurred, Bete's reflexes couldn't adjust in time.

Still psses me off that D. Spade used it first.*

During their battle against Demon Spade, the illusionist had utilized equipment from attributes other than Sky and Earth. Seeing him imbue bombs with Lightning flames to create a Storm/Lightning hybrid in his illusionary space had deeply annoyed Gokudera, inspiring him to perfect the technique himself.

T-This bastard... he's fighting way too dirty...

Walking around with a lethal payload of explosives was insane enough, but triggering a localized carpet bombing inside a completely inescapable alleyway left Aisha standing there with her jaw practically hitting the floor.

"Hurry up and get up. You're wasting my time. Stop playing dead, you d*mn wolf."

Taunting the rubble where Bete had been buried, the debris suddenly exploded outward. Bete emerged, his eyes burning with pure, unadulterated murderous intent.

Fck! My nose is shot, and now my dmn ears are ringing so hard I can't hear straight!

Gokudera hadn't just lured him into the alleyway to trap him; the confined space massively amplified the concussive sound of the explosions, explicitly targeting Bete's hearing.

Beastmen possessed superior hearing and smell. But that same sensitivity made them incredibly vulnerable to overstimulation. Gokudera had weaponized the beastman's greatest strengths against him, perfectly crippling both his nose and his ears.

While Bete hadn't gone completely deaf, the sheer volume and directional confusion left his auditory senses utterly scrambled.

During the Choice battle, Gokudera had been utterly helpless when Kikyo's Campanula di Nuvola sealed his Box Weapons. Drawing from that bitter defeat, Gokudera had systematically stripped Bete of his most reliable tools.

This bastard... how many steps ahead is he reading...!?

Bete was by no means an idiot. Before joining the Loki Familia, he had served as the Captain of the Vidar Familia, successfully leading his subordinates through the Dungeon. Yet, the silver-haired bomber standing before him possessed a tactical mind that eclipsed his own.

Dr. Shamal had once told him: In the world you live in, only those who can find their own ways to survive will make it. And the techniques born from that desperate struggle for survival were stubbornly effective.

During the Representative Battle of the Rainbow, Gokudera had successfully stalled Vindice and shattered their boss watches. But had it been a true, no-rules deathmatch, he likely would have died. Since that day, Gokudera had relentlessly analyzed and prepared strategies to ensure he would survive the next time a monster of that caliber appeared.

"Well? How does it feel to get your a*s kicked by someone lightyears beneath you in speed and power?"

"...I'll kill you."

"Come up with better trash talk, muscle-brain."

Facing the vein-bulging, bloodshot glare of the werewolf, Gokudera responded with absolute, chilling calm.

Snapping, Bete grabbed a Magic Sword off the ground. Channeling its magic directly into Flos Virt, his legs became wreathed in crackling lightning. He had originally intended to save this tactic for the Black Minotaur, but having been humiliated this thoroughly, holding back was no longer an option.

Drawing the indestructible dual swords forged by Tsubaki, Bete vanished instantly. Only his footsteps echoed through the alley. Without batting an eye, Gokudera shifted his gaze slightly. Bete manifested behind him, launching a sweeping lightning-infused kick. Gokudera instantly deployed all of his shields to the rear, absorbing the blast.

Eat this!

But Bete never intended for that strike to end it. As the lightning clashed against the bone shields, Bete flanked around to the unprotected front. Unleashing another sweeping kick, a second wave of lightning roared toward Gokudera.

Having committed all his shields to the rear, Gokudera was completely defenseless. Pincered by lightning in the narrow alley, he had nowhere to run.

"Air Bomb!"

As the lightning closed in, Gokudera slammed a bomb straight into the ground. The explosive burst of air vaulted him high into the sky in an emergency evasion.

Having successfully separated Gokudera from his shields and forced him into the air, Bete kicked off the ground, rocketing upward to hunt him down.

"Tch!"

Gripping four bombs in his left hand, Gokudera hurled them down at the approaching werewolf.

"Like hell that'll work!"

Without breaking his momentum, Bete slashed his indestructible dual swords in a wide arc, cleanly bisecting the falling explosives.

Flour!?

The moment the bombs were cut, a massive cloud of fine white powder burst forth, completely enveloping Bete.

"Do you know what a dust explosion is?"

"...!?"

The instant Gokudera muttered those words, the sky detonated. A cataclysmic fireball swallowed Bete whole. The sheer concussive force killed his momentum entirely, sending him plummeting back to the earth. Gokudera fired his ring's thrusters, generating a flame barrier to protect himself from the shockwave.

A dust explosion. A chemical phenomenon where highly combustible, fine particles—such as flour, metal dust, or coal dust—are suspended in the air at a specific concentration, instantly igniting into a massive fireball when exposed to a heat source or spark. Gokudera had used the lightning currently cloaking Bete's Flos Virt as the ignition source.

While the Vongola Gear upgrade had granted his bombs homing capabilities, they still weren't guaranteed to hit. Desperate for a method that guaranteed massive area-of-effect damage with a near-perfect hit rate, Gokudera had arrived at the dust explosion.

Dying Will Flames were a highly destructive form of life energy, but they were still, fundamentally, flames. In an era where flame-based combat had become the standard, Gokudera knew this tactic would be devastatingly effective.

"Thunder Bomb!"

This time, Lightning flame-coated bombs rained down. The resulting explosions and agonizing electric shocks ripped through Bete's body.

My body...!

Taking direct hits from Storm and Lightning—the two most destructive flame attributes—simultaneously, Bete's muscles violently seized up, paralyzing him for a split second.

"Sh*t!"

But even in that split second, another bomb was already hurtling toward him from his blind spot. Bete forced his arm up, backhanding the explosive to alter its trajectory.

"...!?"

But his fist hit nothing but air. The bomb sailed right past his hand, detonating directly in his face.

A forced perspective trick. He had used the exact same tactic against Kakimoto Chikusa: throwing smaller "mini-bombs" first, then following up with standard-sized bombs to fatally warp the opponent's depth perception.

"F*ck... !?"

When Bete forced his eyes open, Gokudera was already bearing down on him. Riding his custom hoverboard, he closed the distance instantly, bombs primed in both hands.

Much like Yamamoto, Gokudera had lost his high-speed mobility options. To compensate, he had requested Reborn to commission the creation of the hoverboard he had used in the Future Arc, successfully integrating it into his Vongola Gear.

Bete reflexively threw a right straight. But lacking his usual footing and completely off-balance, the wild strike was effortlessly dodged.

"Bomb Spreads."

As they crossed paths, Gokudera dropped a halo of bombs, completely surrounding Bete in mid-air.

Bomb Spreads. A counter-technique perfected in the Vongola's simulation program, designed to simultaneously dodge a close-range attack while laying down an inescapable minefield.

Realizing evasion was impossible, Bete crossed his arms, bracing for the inevitable blast.

"Fake Bomb!"

But the bombs never detonated. Maintaining his chilling composure, Gokudera drew a Box Weapon and injected it with Sun flames. A brilliant yellow light burst from the box, violently clinging to Bete's body.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

An agonizing, tearing pain ripped through Bete's entire body, forcing a blood-curdling scream from his throat.

"Blow yourself up with your own power."

So this was his goal from the very beginning...!?

The Box Weapon contained Sun flames specifically calibrated for cellular activation. The Sun's characteristic of "Activation" forcibly put Bete's cellular regeneration into hyper-drive, over-clocking his body until his muscles and organs literally tore themselves apart from the strain.

The absolute most reliable way to land a bomb was against a target that couldn't move. Sun flame enhancement was incredibly potent, but only if the recipient's body could withstand the output. For anyone else, it acted as a lethal, body-shredding poison.

During the battle at the Melone Base in the future, the older Ryohei had used his Sun flames to overload Baishana's Cervo Volante Tempesta, causing the beetle to lose control and self-destruct. Gokudera had adapted that exact strategy.

However, against a recipient of the gods' Falna—especially a Level 6 who had sublimated their vessel six times—there was a high chance the "Activation" would act as a massive buff rather than a poison. Furthermore, a flame user typically only possessed high output in their primary attribute, while their secondary attributes were significantly weaker. To solve this, Gokudera had remembered the battery Box Weapons used by Gamma in the future. Commissioning Talbot, he had pre-stored massive quantities of Sun flames inside his own custom battery box, allowing him to output Sun flames far beyond his natural limits.

Even still, his stored Sun flames paled in comparison to a dedicated Sun Guardian's output. Therefore, Gokudera had systematically battered Bete down, whittling away his stamina and defenses, before using the Fake Bomb to create the perfect opening to inject the payload.

"Thunder Bomb!"

With his body tearing itself apart from the inside, a Lightning bomb detonated point-blank. The blast and the voltage completely stripped away whatever was left of Bete's motor functions.

"Jet Rocket Bomb!"

Accelerated by the Sun's Activation, the hyper-lethal bomb slammed into Bete.

"This is the finisher. Tenfold Bomb!"

Finally, a bomb coated in Cloud flames rocketed forward. Triggering the Cloud's "Propagation" characteristic, the single bomb multiplied endlessly, burying Bete beneath an avalanche of explosives.

What a terrifyingly relentless assault...

Never stopping, constantly remaining the epicenter of destruction, an unceasing storm of fury. Watching Gokudera perfectly embody the duty of the Storm Guardian left Aisha utterly speechless.

When the smoke finally cleared, Bete's charred, smoking body stood amidst the cratered street.

"Piece of sh*t..."

Muttering a final curse, Bete slowly tipped backward, collapsing spread-eagle onto the rubble.

"Don't underestimate the Vongola."

Deactivating his Vongola Gear, Gokudera lit a fresh cigarette and slowly walked over to Bete's fallen form.

"You're still conscious?"

Despite having taken an ungodly amount of punishment, Bete glared up at him with eyes still burning with absolute murder.

Rolling his eyes at the werewolf's sheer stubbornness, Gokudera drew another Box Weapon, this one loaded with Sun flames calibrated explicitly for healing, and began treating Bete's severe burns.

"What the hell are you doing...!?"

"Take a guess. I'm fixing you up. Though my flames aren't strong enough to fully heal you."

"That's not what I meant... Why the hell are you bothering to heal me...!?"

"Orders from the 10th. He asked us to try not to hurt you guys too badly. Granted, the 10th knew better than anyone that holding back against you lunatics wasn't an option, so he probably saw this coming. Since I had to break you, I have to fix you."

"Gh...!"

To be completely crushed by Gokudera, only to be healed by the man who beat him, was humiliating enough. But learning that it was all on Tsuna's orders made Bete's blood boil with even greater fury.

"I'm not telling you not to be p*ssed off, but you don't get to complain. The strong take from the weak. Whether I heal you or leave you to bleed out is my choice. That's the ideology you've been forcing down everyone else's throats, isn't it?"

"Ngh...!"

Bete constantly mocked the weak, showering them with verbal abuse and crushing them with overwhelming strength. He did it because he genuinely didn't want the weak to march onto the battlefield and die. But having forced that standard onto the world, he had absolutely no counter-argument against Gokudera's logic.

"Why... why the hell do you follow him...?"

"Because he took me in when I was completely worthless."

Gokudera had been born into a mafia family. Disgusted by the life in the castle, he ran away. But no Famiglia would take him in, leaving him utterly alone. He became a lone wolf, surviving day to day through mindless brawls. Completely indifferent to his own life, he was a truly hopeless human being.

But meeting Tsuna in Japan had changed everything. Tsuna hadn't just accepted someone as broken as him; he had called him a friend. Through Tsuna, he had made countless other friends, learned the value of camaraderie, and the weight of a human life. He had learned from the bottom of his heart that he wanted to protect the place he belonged.

"And he's always worrying about his friends. He fights to protect them, so he never has to lose anyone again."

"...What naïve bullsh*t..."

If you were strong enough, you could protect everything. Bete had believed that once. But even after gaining strength, he hadn't been able to protect his clan, his family, his friends, or even himself. That was why he chose the path of hurting others to keep them away from the battlefield.

"I know. He knows that too. But just because it's hard doesn't mean he'll ever give up on protecting his friends."

To Tsuna, his friends were more precious than anything. But Gokudera also knew that Tsuna was painfully aware he wasn't a fairy-tale hero. There were people he hadn't been able to save, like Yuni and Gamma. But even knowing the painful reality, Tsuna refused to ever give up on trying to save everyone.

"Because he's that kind of Boss, we gathered around him. Because he's that kind of Boss, we put our lives on the line. Because he's that kind of Boss, I swore my life to him."

...I hate him.

Staring into Gokudera's unwavering eyes, radiating absolute, unblemished loyalty, Bete cursed internally. But at the same time, he remembered. He remembered the man he himself used to be.

"This is my win. I made sure you couldn't use your beastification, and I stopped you from casting your magic."

"Wha...!?"

Bete did possess magic. But he vehemently refused to use it. The chant forced him to acknowledge his own weakness and dredged up the agonizing past he desperately wanted to forget. He had actively forbidden himself from casting it, refusing to even practice concurrent chanting. Because of this, hardly anyone in the Loki Familia, let alone the Guild, even knew his magic existed. Tsuna couldn't possibly have known about it, which meant Gokudera shouldn't have either.

"But thanks to you, I realized I'm still too weak to force you to use it. Thanks for the lesson."

With that, Gokudera turned his back and walked away.

"FCKING DMN IT ALL TO HELL!"

Bete couldn't forgive himself. He couldn't forgive his own weakness for allowing Gokudera to claim victory on those terms.

"10th..."

Meanwhile, Gokudera looked toward the direction where Tsuna was likely fighting, his expression tinged with a deep, lingering sorrow.
