Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: Gathering Heroic Spirits

"Is it here?"

"Saber, wait, don't go over yet." Maiya Hisau took out a communicator and began to contact Kiritsugu Emiya, but soon her expression turned slightly grim. Over ten seconds had passed, but the communicator still hadn't been picked up. This was something that would normally never happen.

"Hello."

The communicator connected, but Maiya Hisau's expression grew even worse because it wasn't Kiritsugu Emiya's voice, but a woman's.

"Who are you!" Maiya Hisau quickly calmed down and began to ask.

"Me? You don't need to know. In short, the Kiritsugu Emiya you're looking for is in my hands. If you want him, come here yourself."

The voice on the communicator said only that much before hanging up.

"Damn it!" Maiya Hisau suddenly felt like smashing the communicator on the ground, but she couldn't do that, or she wouldn't be able to contact the person who kidnapped Kiritsugu Emiya.

"Maiya, wait! I think I've found Master..." Saber said slowly, her eyes fixed on the depths of the ruins.

That's right, Saber was Kiritsugu's Heroic Spirit; she should be able to sense Kiritsugu's location.

But seeing Saber's gaze fixed on the ruins, Maiya Hisau also understood that Kiritsugu was likely inside.

"There are several powerful presences inside," Saber said with a serious expression. Mana surged within her body, and her black suit transformed into silver-white knight armor, an invisible sword held in her hand.

"Are they other Heroic Spirits?" Maiya Hisau asked.

"Humans? Saber, are you sure they aren't Heroic Spirits?" Maiya Hisau's brow furrowed even deeper. Had the Mages Association intervened in this Holy Grail War? Why would this happen? Was Kiritsugu also taken by the Mages Association?

A mountain of questions swirled in Maiya Hisau's mind, but there was no more time to think. Kiritsugu Emiya's safety had disrupted her normally calm head, and at this moment, she had no other choice.

"Saber, let's go in!"

"Yes!"

Under an already darkening sky, this war's Rider, Alexander the Great, was driving his Noble Phantasm, Gordius Wheel, bringing his Master along as they also rushed toward these ruins.

"How could this happen?!" Atop the Gordius Wheel, Waver suppressed his fear of heights as he looked down at the streets that had been turned to ruins, his heart feeling cold.

"Hahaha!!!" Unlike the terrified Waver, Alexander the Great laughed with great excitement: "It seems some extraordinary heroes have arrived this time!"

"What's wrong, little Master? You're not scared, are you!" Alexander the Great swung his massive palm and slapped Waver's shoulder. The sharp pain from his shoulder also helped diminish much of the fear in Waver's heart.

"Rider, what are you doing!" Waver rubbed his shoulder, which felt like it was about to be shattered by Alexander the Great, looking ready to cry. This wasn't the first time; Waver felt that even if he survived this Holy Grail War, his shoulder would probably be useless.

"Haha! Little Master, let's go! My blood is already boiling!" Saying this, without waiting for Waver to respond, he yanked the reins hard, and the Gordius Wheel accelerated directly toward the center of the ruins!

"Rider!!!"

Waver's shrill voice echoed through the dim sky.

In a grand hotel in Fuyuki City, Kenneth El-Melloi Archibald—the genius Master from the Mages Association who had come to Fuyuki City to participate in the Holy Grail War, fully confident that he could win, and the Master of Lancer in this war—currently had a face full of rage. His gloved hand gripped a piece of paper covered in writing tightly, and the sound of his teeth grinding was clearly audible in the room.

"Let's go, Lancer!"

"Yes, Master!"

Down in a dark alleyway within a secret room, Uryu Ryuunosuke—the serial killer who had recently been terrorizing Fuyuki City—was with Caster, Gilles de Rais, whom he had accidentally summoned using a spell from an ancient family book. Together, they were looking at an envelope that had appeared out of thin air.

"Jeanne! It's Jeanne! Oh God! Is it you?! Jeanne has finally returned to this world!"

Gilles de Rais held the envelope with trembling hands, his large eyeballs twitching.

"Old man, what's wrong with you?" Uryu Ryuunosuke looked at the convulsing Gilles de Rais with confusion.

"Ah, Ryuunosuke! Are you coming? Come witness the true art of this world!"

"Really? Old man!" Uryu Ryuunosuke looked at Gilles de Rais excitedly.

"Yes, Ryuunosuke, we must go. True art waits for no one!"

"Yes, old man!"

In the center of the ruins, Asagami Fujino, using her Clairvoyance to observe the movements of all the Heroic Spirits, gazed at the gradually darkening sky, a strange curve hooking her lips.

"What are you laughing at?" Touko came to Asagami Fujino's side, unable to help shivering at the sight of Fujino's eerie smile.

Ever since Asagami Fujino decided to end everything today, she had sent messages to the people in the Western-style Mansion, asking them to come and help.

"Touko, do you still have that thing?" Asagami Fujino turned her head and smiled at Touko.

"What thing?" Touko took a small step back; Asagami Fujino's current appearance was truly a bit strange.

"The drug you had Sakuya give me before~"
