As Jacob walked through the pack grounds, his mind still foggy from recent events, until he collided unexpectedly with someone coming around a hedge.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you," Jacob said quickly, bowing his head respectfully before the elderly woman he'd knocked into.
Senior Emilia studied him for several long seconds before letting out a soft chuckle. "It's quite alright. I'm not hurt in the least." Her voice was warm, carrying a gentle quality that made Jacob look up to get a better look at her face.
His brow furrowed in confusion, he was certain he'd never seen this woman within Damon's pack territory before. Every face here was familiar to him, but hers was entirely new.
"Forgive my rudeness," he said politely, straightening up. "But might I ask who you are?"
