Chapter 1 - the birth of the new God

The sky was painted in shades of orange and red as the sun began to set.

A college boy approached slowly—his uniform completely wet, clinging to his body.

I recognized him instantly.

Kamui Kanzoku.

Looks like they made his clothes dirty again… so he washed them, I thought.

"Ah… not again," the pharmacist sighed.

Whoosh!

The door burst open as Kamui stumbled inside.

"U-uncle, can—"

"Stop it, kid," the pharmacist interrupted, already walking toward him. "They beat you again, didn't they? I told you to report this. Why don't you ever listen? …Come here."

I stepped forward silently and began applying bandages to his face.

His condition was worse than before—cuts across his cheeks, bruises on his arms… even his hands were trembling.

After a few minutes, the bleeding finally stopped.

"You don't have to pay today," I said calmly. "Bring it tomorrow. By the way… where are your friends?"

"They… had some important work," Kamui replied quietly.

After saying goodbye, I stepped outside.

I looked up at the sky.

"Damn… it's going to rain. I should hurry."

On my way home, something strange caught my attention.

A notebook and a pen… lying in the middle of the road.

No one else seemed to notice them.

Then—

"Help… help… help…"

A girl's voice.

I froze.

The voice… was coming from the notebook.

Slowly, I walked toward it. My heart pounded loudly in my chest.

The moment I touched it—

Everything went black.

When I opened my eyes, I was somewhere else.

A different world.

And then… I saw her.

My sister.

She was walking toward me.

For a moment, relief filled my heart—

But then—

A truck appeared out of nowhere.

CRASH.

Time stopped.

Her body was thrown back.

Her hand… separated in mid-air.

My vision blurred as tears filled my eyes.

I couldn't breathe.

I couldn't move.

I couldn't even scream.

And then—

Everything reversed.

The blood… the crash… the moment…

All of it moved backward.

Time was rewinding.

She was alive again.

Walking toward me.

I tried to run to her.

To save her.

To hug her.

But my body wouldn't move.

A voice echoed behind me.

Cold. Calm.

"You want to save them… don't you?"

I couldn't turn around.

"You don't want to lose anyone again… like your father, Kamui."

My heart stopped.

"Take the notebook. It is the only way to save your sister."

"W-who are you…?" I tried to speak.

My eyes snapped open.

I was back.

Sitting on the ground.

The notebook… and the pen… right in front of me.

This time, I noticed the words written on it:

—Wish Book—

Without thinking… I picked it up, placed it in my bag, and walked home.

Rain poured heavily.

An old wooden restaurant was crowded with people seeking shelter.

I'm completely soaked… Kamui thought.

He stepped inside.

"Mom, I'm home."

"Okay, son. Take a little nap and then study," his mother replied.

"Mom, I'm not that tired. Can I help you with work?"

Before she could answer, a small girl ran toward him.

"Brother! I want to go to the amusement park!"

Kamui smiled faintly. "Alright, Sora. We'll go. But first, I need to help Mom. There are too many customers."

He went upstairs, changed his wet uniform, then returned to help.

Later that night, they sat together for dinner.

"I know they bullied you again," his mother said softly. "But I can't do anything because of our financial condition. Why didn't you tell your friends?"

Kamui stayed silent.

"Tomorrow, tell them," she continued. "Maybe they can help."

"I'm done," Kamui said, standing up. "Good night, Mom. Good night, Sora."

"Brother, can you help me study?" Sora asked.

"Yeah… sure."

An hour later, Kamui returned to his room.

He opened his bag.

The notebook was still there.

So… it wasn't a dream.

He picked up the pen.

It didn't feel like metal. It felt… alive.

A strange sensation ran through his body.

He ignored it and opened the notebook.

Rules of the Wish Book

You will become immortal.

You cannot make anyone else immortal.

You cannot bring the dead back to life.

You cannot kill or harm anyone using a wish.

If you stop accepting wishes, you will be consumed by darkness.

If you accept becoming the Wish God, you cannot reject it.

You can make your own wish only after accepting 20 billion wishes.

Kamui smiled slightly.

This will make my revenge easier.

Suddenly—

The same voice returned.

This time… from the pen.

A glowing screen appeared before him.

"Write your first wish. As the God of Wishes, it will help you save your sister."

Kamui touched the screen.

And then—

He froze.

His younger self appeared… writing.

"No… stop!" Kamui shouted.

But he couldn't reach him.

The wish was completed.

"I want to get the powers of Raijin."

Kamui's eyes widened.

Raijin… my own character.

Powers of Raijin

The world turned white.

Then—

A figure appeared.

Golden hair.

Green eyes.

A sword resting on his back.

Raijin.

He smiled.

"Hey, kid… you want my powers?"

He stepped closer.

"Come. I'll teach you."

Time stopped.

Inside Kamui's mind—

They trained.

Days… years… decades.

Ten years passed in training.

But in the real world—

Only a second.

Kamui fought beasts, including wolf-like creatures, pushing himself beyond limits.

How… is he this strong? I created him… Kamui thought.

Finally—

He defeated Raijin.

The world returned.

Kamui stood in his room.

"Oh… I'm finally back."

The notebook lay on the floor.

This book… will help me with my revenge.

He touched it.

Suddenly—

The notebook and pen dissolved… and were absorbed into his hand.

His arm transformed—

Nanobots.

A voice echoed from within him.

"Congratulations. You are now the God of Wishes."

"Your powers are sealed. Other gods can sense you."

"You may only use 30% of your power."

Kamui clenched his fist.

"What…?"

The voice continued:

"Your wish acceptance radius is 500 meters."

"What does that mean?"

"It means within that radius… you can hear everyone's wishes."

"You must accept or deny them."

"That is your duty."

"I want more than 500 meters—"

Suddenly—

Kamui collapsed.

Millions of voices flooded his mind.

"Help me…"

"I want money…"

"Save her…"

"Kill him…"

"Stop… STOP—!"

The pen stabilized his power.

"You must adapt," it said.

Kamui breathed heavily.

"Who are you…?"

"…And where is Goddess Beatrix?"

Exhausted kamui said , he fell onto his bed.

Meanwhile…

Downstairs—

Sora looked at her mother.

"Mom… who is the Goddess of Wishes?"

Her mother hesitated.

Then began to speak.
