Chapter 179 - Compensation II

The two Immortal Gu Lin Yan had obtained were Flame Eye Immortal Gu and Firelike Immortal Gu. Individually, neither possessed much practical value.

Flame Eye Immortal Gu could detect the remaining Flame Path dao marks in an area and judge the intensity of flames. It functioned much like an investigative Gu, but its effectiveness was limited to Flame Path Gu Immortals, greatly restricting its applications.

Its most valuable use was examining the accumulation of Flame Path dao marks on a Gu Immortal's body.

As for Firelike Immortal Gu, it could disguise one's dao marks as those of the Flame Path. Any killer move activated would also appear to be a Flame Path killer move, though the change was merely superficial. Its true nature remained unchanged.

After learning the feeding requirements of the two Immortal Gu, Lin Yan felt an even greater headache.

Flame Eye Immortal Gu fed on the eyes of the desolate beast Aurora Heavenly Bird, which lived deep within White Heaven. To venture into the depths of the Black and White Heavens required at least Rank 8 cultivation, making the eyes of this desolate beast extremely expensive in Treasure Yellow Heaven.

Even raising Aurora Heavenly Bird inside a blessed land was no easy task. They preferred to soar through the skies of White Heaven, so an ordinary blessed land simply could not provide a suitable environment for them.

The feeding requirement of Firelike Immortal Gu was somewhat less troublesome. It consumed the immortal material Color-Changing Fire, which could be cultivated within a Flame Desert.

Lin Yan was not surprised by any of this. The Mo Family was never going to hand over truly valuable Immortal Gu as compensation. The two Immortal Gu they had provided naturally possessed mediocre abilities.

Judging by their abilities, these two Immortal Gu were likely part of a complete set, most likely originating from the inheritance of a Flame Path Gu Immortal.

Lin Yan knew it would be nearly impossible to obtain the remaining Immortal Gu from the Mo Family, so he could only research and deduce them himself. After all, there were no useless Gu Worms, only useless Gu Masters.

At this point, he already possessed seven Immortal Gu. Most of their feeding problems remained unsolved, and he had yet to develop suitable Immortal killer moves for them. Every one of these tasks demanded immense time and effort.

"It's time to head to the Blazing Yellow Heaven Pit," Lin Yan murmured inwardly. "I'll gather immortal materials, capture a few Desolate Beasts, continue refining my killer moves, and keep a low profile for the time being."

That decision was not made on a whim. Although he had forced the Mo Family to compromise and preserved the overall situation, his battle against a Rank 7 Gu Immortal had already spread his name throughout the Western Desert. If he remained in Sandwell Oasis, it would only attract more attention and create unnecessary variables.

There was no helping it. The stronger he became, the greater his influence on the future. Every decision he made could trigger a butterfly effect, causing events to drift further from the course he remembered. Until Fang Yuan's rebirth, he had no intention of creating any more unnecessary changes. The Blazing Yellow Heaven Pit was the perfect place to cultivate in seclusion and quietly pass the remaining two years.

Before leaving, Lin Yan still had one important matter to settle—bringing part of the Huang Family into his blessed land. However, doing so required making a difficult decision.

The blessed land's time flow was far faster than that of the outside world. Gu Masters who lived there for long periods would age much more quickly. It was entirely possible for three or four generations to be born and grow up inside the blessed land while their relatives outside had only just reached adulthood. By then, family seniority and blood relations would be hopelessly tangled.

For that reason, the Huang Family had to be divided into two branches. One would remain in Sandwell Oasis, while the other would settle permanently inside the blessed land.

After careful consideration, Lin Yan made his decision. Gu Masters with normal aptitude would move permanently into the blessed land to manage its various resource points. Those with greater potential would remain in Sandwell Oasis, focus on cultivation, and strive to become Gu Immortals in the future.

At present, the Flame Sovereign Blessed Land could not support a massive population. Fortunately, everyone brought inside was a Gu Master with strong survival abilities. They could quickly adapt to the new environment without causing major disruption.

This arrangement also had almost no impact on the Oasis's mortal population. Under Lin Yan's careful planning, Han Family Village remained exactly as it had before.

Before leaving, Lin Yan secretly visited the edge of the Thousand Wishes Tree illusion. He quietly placed several Rank 5 investigative Gu, including Perception Gu, at various locations to monitor any changes that might occur during his absence.

After making those arrangements, he did not interfere any further. He quietly departed toward Xiao Family direction.
