Chapter 315 - It Only Takes One Minute

"WHAT?!"

Hearing that murderous declaration, the assembled delegates drew in a sharp, collective gasp.

"It's the simplest and most effective solution, isn't it?"

Facing their shell-shocked expressions, Peter merely gave a casual shrug:

"I don't believe the comrades who once fought side-by-side with me to protect the citizens of America would commit such atrocious, inhuman acts."

"So I am 100% certain that every single one of these attackers is a fake, shape-shifted by aliens."

"I can go kill them all right now. If I kill even a single innocent by mistake, you can dispose of me and every hero I represent however you see fit."

The heavy silence returned, hanging thick over the assembly chamber.

After a long pause, the Chinese representative broke the stillness once more:

"Unwise."

"Mr. Arbiter, I am not questioning your stance or your motives."

"However, you exposed the existence of these Skrulls here just a moment ago, and almost immediately afterward, large-scale terrorist attacks broke out simultaneously across the globe. How could there be such a convenient coincidence?"

"I suspect this is a classic diversion strategy by those aliens!"

"The impostors posing as your comrades are wreaking havoc all over the world. Even if you intend to neutralize them, it would take hours—if not days—to hunt them all down."

"And that window of time is more than enough for them to raid this assembly and take every single one of us hostage!"

"When that happens, even if you prove those rogue heroes were fake, our capture would leave the global situation entirely helpless!"

Listening to this sharp breakdown, enlightenment finally dawned on the remaining delegates.

Nodding in agreement, they chimed in:

"The Chinese representative is right! Mr. Arbiter, you cannot leave. For the sake of global stability, you must remain here!"

"Indeed! There are still heroes in the news who haven't been implicated in any violence. You can deploy them to eliminate these impostors—that will prove your innocence just the same!"

Facing their urgent pleas to stay, Peter merely offered a gentle smile:

"Relax, everyone. Since I chose to step into this room today, I naturally came fully prepared."

A brilliant white light began to glow around his body. Raising a single finger from within the radiance, he spoke calmly:

"One minute! It will take me exactly one minute to resolve every single one of these incidents across the world!"

"Furthermore, to guarantee that you suffer zero terrorist attacks during this sixty-second window..."

As he spoke, his voice split into a strange, synchronized overlay, as though two identical versions of him were speaking at the exact same time.

Before the incredulous eyes of every representative in the room, Peter's body split cleanly in two.

One incarnation wore a tranquil, saintly smile.

The other radiated unbridled killing intent, his eyes cold and ruthless.

"I will take responsibility for your safety," Good Peter said with a peaceful smile.

Evil Peter cast a slightly disgusted side-eye at his counterpart, a dark grin tugging at his lips:

"And I will spend the next minute making those green goblins regret ever being born into this universe."

With a flick of his wrist, a spark flashed from his spatial ring, and the gleaming Eye of Aurora materialized around his neck.

"To the River Thames in London!"

SWOOSH!

The moment the command left his lips, Evil Peter vanished on the spot.

A split second later, a sharp-eyed delegate noticed Evil Peter's figure materialize right in the middle of London's live news feed.

A Skrull disguised as Captain America was currently sprinting toward screaming, scattering civilians with his shield raised high.

His mimicry was almost flawless—his running posture, the angle of his shield, even the habit of pressing his lips into a tight line beneath Steve Rogers' helmet were copied to absolute perfection.

Yet in Peter's eyes, he was riddled with fatal flaws.

Because the real Cap would never point his shield at unarmed civilians!

Just as the impostor raised his shield to strike down a young mother clutching her toddler, Peter appeared out of thin air right behind him.

Sensing the sudden threat, the fake Cap spun on his heel to swing his shield out of reflex.

Before his shield could even travel halfway—

SLAM!

A sharp, violent slap from Evil Peter landed straight on the back of his head, shattering the impostor's skull instantly. Dark green alien blood and brain matter burst forth in a gruesome spray.

From the moment Peter arrived to the impostor's gruesome death: less than five seconds.

Yet those five seconds sent shockwaves through both the UN assembly room and the London citizens watching in person.

A deafening cheer erupted from the crowd—but before the applause could even peak, Peter had already vanished from the scene.

SWOOSH!

A second later, his figure flickered into the live broadcast from Paris.

Here, a Skrull disguised as Hawkeye was unleashing explosive arrows into a crowded square.

A spatial rift tore open.

Evil Peter delivered a brutal kick that snapped the fake's bow and spine in a single stroke.

Five seconds.

Berlin.

Seven seconds.

Moscow.

Four seconds.

Peter flickered through broadcast after broadcast, effortlessly annihilating the rogue "heroes" in under ten seconds per location before jumping straight to the next hotspot.

The entire global online community was utterly thunderstruck!

Netizens across the world frantically discussed the miraculous feat unfolding before their eyes.

Only the American netizens remained entirely unbothered.

American Netizens: Just another Tuesday for the Arbiter!

SWOOSH!

Peter finally flashed back to his starting point—the United Nations Assembly Chamber.

Eight countries. Eight impostors.

Total time elapsed: 56.43 seconds!

When Evil Peter reappeared in the hall, his suit didn't carry a single speck of dust or a single drop of dark green alien blood.

Meanwhile, Good Peter was casually discussing the art of tea tasting with the Chinese representative. Piled beneath his feet were seven or eight unconscious Skrull assassins he had captured during the interim.

As the two Peters merged back into a single body, Peter turned toward the stunned delegates, offering a light smile:

"Now then... does anyone have anything else to add?"

"Can those bills you drafted to divide and suppress superheroes be thrown in the trash now?"

Dead silence filled the room.

A second later, a sharp RIP echoed through the chamber.

The Chinese representative had taken the initiative, instantly tearing up every agreement regarding superhero regulations he had previously signed.

With him taking the lead, the sound of tearing paper cascaded across the room like a chain reaction.

Inside the SHIELD office, every superhero gathered watched the entire scene unfold in crisp detail through Peter's nano-spider camera feed.

Gwen, Sif, Felicia, Daisy, and Natasha—every heroine connected to Peter—stared at the screen with heart-eyes, finding his swift, dominant execution impossibly attractive and reassuring.

Meanwhile, Tony and Harry looked on with absolute, resigned respect.

The nightmare of a crisis that had driven them to their wits' end for weeks had been dismantled by Peter in a matter of hours—brutally, simply, and effortlessly.

Where the hell were they even supposed to go complain about a guy like this?!
