In a small broken house , where rainwater dropped from the roof and nights were darken than the dreams , lived a girl who had nothing except her mother and courage.
Her name was Asha .
No father. No money. No support , Life was not easy .
Every morning asha help her mother by fetching water, cooking food and something even working in other people's houses. They don't have enough money , but asha had something very special dream in her eyes.
She want to study, become successful ,and give her mother a better life.
Even when people laughed at her poor clothes,she smiled and said ,"One day ,I will change my life".
She loved studying.
Every word she learned, every lesson she understood - it felt like a step towards a better life... But there was one problem.
She didn't have her own books. Sorry she borrowed from classmates, wrote notes carefully,and memorized evening she could.
Evening were the hardest because there was no electricity in her house.so after finishing all the works, Asha would work to a nearby street light, setting under the dim yellow light, she studied for hours while insects flew around and people passed by.
Some people felt pity .
Some laughed.
But Asha didn't care because in her heart she belived one thing (this struggle is temporary .my dreams are permanent)
One night while she was studying under the street light heavy rain suddenly start people run for shelter ,shop closed, road become empty but asha didn't move.
She covered her notebook with her dupatta and continued reading even has raindrops fell on her .
At that moment her school teacher happened to pass by ,he saw asha sitting there, studying in the rain .He stopped ,socked.
"Asha ! What are you doing here in this weather?"
Asha stood up slowly and said softly, "Sir... Exams are coming.lhave to study".
Her teacher look at her for a few seconds... then smile with pride ."you are not a ordinary girl ". He said -you are a fighter.
That night , as she walked backed home in the rain , she didn't feel cold anymore. She felt strong .
She looked at the dark sky and whispered,
" I don't know how long this journey will be...."." But I promise... I will not stop".
