Chapter 1 - The Stranger's Forbidden Obsession

TITLE: Why did a billionaire boy fall in love with a girl who used to be hard-hearted?

CHAPTER 1

Combined Chapter: The Storm, The Rescue, and The First Glimmer of Love

The sky over Mumbai was unleashing its fury. While the pouring rain might have been romantic for some, for Aradhya, it was nothing short of a nightmare. It was two o'clock in the morning, and Aradhya was running barefoot on the slick, cold asphalt. Her dupatta had been lost somewhere in the chaos, and her breath was coming in ragged gasps. Every step was agonizing, but she knew that looking back meant a life worse than death itself.

Aradhya (to herself) said: "God, please just save me today. I don't want to fall into the hands of these monsters. Is pain the only thing written in my destiny?"

The terrifying shouts of her stepfather's goons echoed from behind. The heavy thud of their boots sliced through the roar of the rain.

Gunda said: "Stop, Aradhya! How far will you run? You can't leave without settling your father's debt! We have bought you!"

Aradhya didn't look back. Her heart was hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird. Her father had sold her to an elderly businessman in a gambling bet. Aradhya had no home, no one to call her own. She only had a dream of a world where she wouldn't be treated like a toy.

Suddenly, at a sharp turn, a blinding, piercing light forced her to shield her eyes. A sleek, midnight-black Lamborghini screeched to a halt just inches away from her. The tires left a long, burnt mark on the wet road. Aradhya froze in terror.

The car door opened, and a man stepped out. He was tall, with features so sharp they looked as if a sculptor had carved them from marble. His expensive suit was getting drenched in the rain, but he didn't seem to care. His eyes... they held a deep coldness that could make anyone shiver. He was Shubham Malhotra, the city's biggest business tycoon, known to the world as "The Heartless King."

Aradhya collapsed at Shubham's feet, her strength failing. Her hands trembled as she clutched the hem of his suit.

Aradhya said: "Save me... please save me from them. They will kill me. I beg of you, take me away from here."

Gunda said: "Hey! Leave that girl alone, she is our property! Don't get involved, or it won't be good for you."

Shubham glanced at the goons and then down at Aradhya. He gently removed Aradhya's hand from his suit, but he didn't push her away.

Shubham said: "Vikram, clear these thugs out of my way. And remember, if I ever see them again, they shouldn't even have the courage to raise their hand against anyone."

The goons fled like cowards, but Aradhya was now losing consciousness. She was turning blue from the cold and the sheer terror. Shubham looked at her innocence—she looked like a broken porcelain doll. Without a second thought, Shubham lifted Aradhya into his powerful arms.

When Aradhya finally opened her eyes, she felt as if she were in another world. A massive, glittering chandelier hung above, and the bed beneath her was so soft she had never felt anything like it. The room carried a faint, soothing scent of sandalwood and vanilla.

Aradhya said: "Where am I? Who is here? Is anyone there? Am I still with those monsters?"

She cried out in fear. Just then, the door opened and Shubham walked in. He had traded his suit for a black casual shirt.

Shubham said: "You are in my house. And here, not even a bird can flap its wings without my permission. Calm down, you are safe."

Aradhya said: "You... you saved my life. Thank you. But how long will I stay here? I have to leave."

Shubham walked closer to her. He tilted Aradhya's chin up with his finger. His eyes held a strange, dark obsession.

Shubham said: "A mere 'thank you' won't be enough, Aradhya. I have bought you from those goons. The debt your father took has been settled by me. Now, you are my responsibility. You don't need to go anywhere."

Tears welled up in Aradhya's eyes. Her heart filled with a mixture of fear and anger.

Aradhya said: "So... will you sell me just like they were going to? Am I just a deal to you, someone you bought from a market?"

Shubham's heart, which was always icy and detached, suddenly began to melt at the sight of Aradhya's crying eyes. For the first time, he felt a strange pang in his chest. He wiped her tears with his thumb.

Shubham said: "No, no one will sell you. You will stay in this house... only as mine. You will receive every happiness you have ever imagined. This is my promise."

Aradhya looked into Shubham's eyes with surprise. She didn't see anger there, but an unknown kind of intensity.

Aradhya said: "Why are you being so kind to me? We don't even know each other. You are a stranger to me."

Shubham said: "Time gives answers to some questions, Aradhya. For now, just understand that you are safe here. Vikram! Call the most expensive designer in the city. I want everything for her that a princess would have."

Shubham began to leave, but he stopped at the door and looked back. Aradhya was still staring at him with fear and a blossoming, unknown emotion.

Shubham (to himself) said: "I don't know what magic this is, but after today, you cannot belong to anyone else, Aradhya. Only mine. I have only ever learned how to win, and winning you will be my greatest victory."

On the other hand, Aradhya felt that as tough as Shubham looked, perhaps he wasn't as bad as she feared. A sweet, unfamiliar feeling was stirring in her heart.

Aradhya (to herself) said: "Is he the one I've been waiting for? Or is this the start of a new trouble? Whatever it is, I don't feel afraid in his presence anymore."
