They moved the man to a safer location—an abandoned storage building far from the main streets.
When he woke, his eyes were filled with confusion. Fear.
"I… I didn't mean to…" he muttered, clutching his head.
Jovian stepped closer, calm but firm. "What happened to you?"
The man hesitated. "…I found something. A shard. Black… like glass."
The room went still.
Alaric's expression darkened. "A fragment."
"Of what?" Jovian asked.
Lucien answered quietly. "Power."
The man continued, voice shaking. "The moment I touched it… everything changed. I couldn't control it. It felt like something was pushing me… forcing me…"
"Forcing you to attack," Iggy finished.
The man nodded weakly.
Jovian's mind raced.
Voss Calder again.
Not directly—but through something else. Something that could awaken or distort Stand abilities.
"…He's experimenting," Jovian said.
Alaric crossed his arms. "And we're the results he's measuring against."
Lucien's gaze sharpened. "Then we destroy the source."
The plan formed quickly.
They weren't going to wait anymore.
If these fragments existed, they would find them.
And end whatever Voss Calder had started.
