"We're about to go on a rampage! Try to stop us if you can, monsters!" Li Tonghui shouted excitedly.
The moment his words fell, the three youths simultaneously charged forward, meeting the monsters head-on.
"One, two, three..."
A flash of sword light passed by, and a monster was beheaded with a single strike. The black-clothed youth revealed himself, then counted the monsters he had slain one by one.
Jun Mo Li held his long sword, the sword light like a roaming dragon weaving through the monsters. Sword shadows flew everywhere, almost making it impossible to see the sword in his hand clearly.
No sword techniques, no forms—only the purest, sharpest fast sword.
In all the martial arts of the world, only speed is unbeatable!
"One, two, three... Rock Shatter Fist!"
A clenched fist slammed down, striking flesh with every blow, no mercy spared as it hammered the monster's head. The bursting force directly knocked the monster to the ground.
Suddenly, a juvenile Geovishap curled into a ball and rolled toward Li Tonghui.
Li Tonghui swung his right arm in a wide arc, pushed off with his toes, leaped into the air, and punched the juvenile Geovishap's shell.
The juvenile Geovishap's movement stopped. When its shell opened, it had already been knocked unconscious with a single punch.
Li Tonghui grinned excitedly, then swung his arm again and charged toward other monsters.
"Tonghui-ge, catch!"
Little Jun Bai threw two knuckle dusters toward Li Tonghui.
"Oh? Thanks, Ah Bai!"
Li Tonghui caught the knuckle dusters, put them on, and punched a charging Hilichurl right in the face.
One punch cracked the Hilichurl's mask open.
"Looks like my craftsmanship isn't bad."
Little Jun Bai looked at the power of the knuckle dusters and smiled smugly. He seemed completely unaware of the juvenile Geovishap curling into a ball behind him.
The juvenile Geovishap rolled toward little Jun Bai!
Little Jun Bai chose to dodge!
"To be honest, I'm not as competitive as Tonghui-ge and Mo Li-ge. But I also don't plan to let monsters that sneak attack me get away."
As little Jun Bai spoke, he flicked his small hand, and the crimson short sword instantly extended.
The juvenile Geovishap that missed its target was about to curl up again to continue the attack. Then it found crimson shadows coiling around its body.
Upon closer look, those crimson shadows were actually the extended blade segments of the short sword in little Jun Bai's hand. What was binding the juvenile Geovishap's body was section after section of sword blade.
"Bye-bye."
Little Jun Bai said as he gripped the hilt and yanked backward.
The sword blades binding the juvenile Geovishap's body tightened, cutting deep into its flesh.
The next moment, the extended blades retracted, and the edges buried in flesh delivered a series of slashing strikes.
(For those who can't imagine it, you can refer to the first episode of Animal Sentai TV, where Kamen Rider Yamato uses the Beast Sword spinning slash.)
The crimson short sword returned to normal length. The juvenile Geovishap collapsed, unable to rise again.
Little Jun Bai: (σ≧▽≦) "Alright—one down. Next is..."
His gaze swept over the surrounding monsters. Little Jun Bai swung the crimson short sword in his hand, and crimson shadows instantly swept across.
"Two, three, four..."
Ordinary monsters like Hilichurls and Slimes couldn't last at all in the hands of the three youths.
The outermost monsters were quickly cleared, and then elite monsters like Hilichurl Berserkers appeared.
A Pyro Axe Hilichurl Berserker roared, swinging its axe toward little Jun Bai, about to cleave down with a fiery strike.
A long sword lifted upward, parrying the Hilichurl Berserker's blow.
A punch wearing knuckle dusters smashed straight into the Hilichurl Berserker's temple with a Rock Shatter Fist.
The Hilichurl Berserker was knocked to the ground.
"This one counts together." Li Tonghui said.
"Fine." Jun Mo Li nodded.
Then the two separated again to clear more monsters.
"Oh? Still moving?"
Little Jun Bai saw that the Hilichurl Berserker could still move after taking a direct Rock Shatter Fist from Li Tonghui head-on, so he stepped forward with his crimson short sword to finish it off.
"That way I can count one too."
Little Jun Bai smiled, then noticed wisps of black qi rising from the Hilichurl Berserker that had lost its life signs.
"Eh? This is..."
Little Jun Bai frowned slightly. A flash of crimson light passed through his red pupils, and a flame ignited, setting the black qi ablaze.
"Be careful—these monsters have god remnant on them!"
"God remnant?" Jun Mo Li looked around alertly, then spotted the rising black qi on the fallen monsters.
"Old Li, Ah Bai! You two fall back—this is on me alone!"
Li Tonghui hadn't learned the sword-forging technique; if he got tainted by god remnant, it would be hard to deal with.
Little Jun Bai had learned it, but he had already been tainted by god remnant before—who knew what would happen if he came into contact again.
Jun Mo Li didn't dare let the two take the risk.
But unfortunately, the other two weren't willing to accept his good intentions.
"I'm not letting you play the lone hero." Li Tonghui kicked over a Geo Slime trying to sneak attack Jun Mo Li. "It's just god remnant—worst case, we ask your grandfather for some medicine later."
"Before I lost my memories, contact with god remnant didn't do anything to me, so it should be the same now."
Crimson shadows swept horizontally from little Jun Bai's hand, taking out a distant Hilichurl Archer.
Seeing this, Jun Mo Li realized it was unrealistic to persuade the two to leave.
"Then let's make it quick! Minimize the impact as much as possible!"
At Jun Mo Li's command, the three's speed at clearing monsters increased even further.
Finally, the leader commanding this group of monsters—the Stonehide Lawachurl—stepped forward, approaching the three with heavy steps.
"Looks like that's the boss."
"So, if we defeat this guy, the group of monsters will retreat?"
"If no one else is controlling these monsters, then yes."
Little Jun Bai pointed his sword at the Stonehide Lawachurl: "Then let's take care of it quickly!"
"Oh!" Li Tonghui shouted, leaped up, swung his arm in a wide arc, and delivered a Rock Shatter Fist.
The knuckle dusters struck the Stonehide Lawachurl's armor, creating cracks.
But to the Stonehide Lawachurl, these cracks were negligible. It swung a heavy fist, sending Li Tonghui flying.
Jun Mo Li rushed forward. A flash of sword light passed, carving a deep gash, but it still failed to penetrate the defense.
"So tough!"
Ever since Jun Mo Li mastered the fast sword, this was the first time he'd encountered a situation where his stats fell short.
The sword was sharp enough, but right now it lacked the necessary power.
The Stonehide Lawachurl clenched both fists, about to slam them down heavily on Jun Mo Li.
A streak of crimson shadow coiled around Jun Mo Li's waist, then yanked hard, pulling him out of the Stonehide Lawachurl's attack range.
The Stonehide Lawachurl's heavy fists struck empty air, smashing into the ground and causing the earth to shake violently.
On the trembling ground, little Jun Bai leaped up. The short sword in his hand extended, coiling toward the Stonehide Lawachurl.
However, though little Jun Bai's blade was sharp enough, it still wasn't enough against the Stonehide Lawachurl.
Crimson shadows spun around the Stonehide Lawachurl's body, the blade continuously slashing at its armor, but in the end it could only produce sparks.
Seeing this, little Jun Bai could only temporarily retreat.
Jun Mo Li pulled Li Tonghui out from the nearby cliff wall. The three discussed strategy behind a hill.
Jun: "That rock armor is too hard. If we don't deal with it, none of us three can take it down alone."
Xiao: "But both my and Mo Li-ge's swords are a bit lacking, and Tonghui-ge's Rock Shatter Fist isn't enough either."
Li: "Then how about we team up? This guy doesn't count toward the score."
"Fine." ×2
