Sitting on the bed and digesting the memories of the body I entered—though more accurately, merged souls with—even after burning most of my soul power and thus cultivation, I still had a second spiritual boundary, and a newly awakened mage's soul couldn't influence me, especially with my spirit magic mastery.
Peering into my spiritual world, I found 6 constellations, 5 from my previous incarnation and one from Mu Bai. Getting up from the bed and looking in the full-length mirror on the wall, I saw a handsome sixteen-year-old guy, well-built, with dark blue hair and matching eyes.
"Well, hello, old friend." The mirror showed the man who, in another parallel reality, became my comrade-in-arms and almost brother. We covered each other's backs in countless battles, hit on girls together, and fled from Emperors and Warlords.
"I don't even feel guilty for merging with his soul and erasing his personality," I sighed, returning to the bed. My soul felt very lonely; the entire surrounding reality wasn't mine. In which I, like a cool regressor from a Korean manhwa, turned back time before death and now, using foreknowledge, would grow much stronger much faster, save old friends who died, smack the main villain, and live happily ever after with my harem. No, this is a parallel reality, and in my old one, I died, beasts are finishing off humanity—the strongest land undead was finished by Mo Fan to avoid exposing the cycles—and now humanity will develop anew, repeating the infinite cycle in a few thousand years.
"This time, I won't allow it," I clenched my fist until it hurt and pondered what would help me—my idea from the previous reality that burned out: traveling parallel realities.
With my holy gifts, which every forbidden curse mage gets in their element after breaking through—essentially your personal reality laws through which you twist it—blended with spirit magic, I created my masterpiece.
My time law is Reverse: I could rewind time for a specific area or object as many times as I wanted, even replenish my magic reserve that way, but only against an opponent equal in law power. Mo Fan, for example, was a half-god of magic and simply suppressed me with higher laws, so I didn't lose the ability but was heavily limited and couldn't restore my reserve.
My space law is Penetration: I could penetrate anywhere or anything (no pervy stuff), like through enemy defenses, dimensional barriers, entering the dark plane, or passing through attacks or obstacles. Again, the attack must equal me in law and magic power, or it'd deal limited or full damage.
Blending these two laws with fusion magic, adding spirit magic for soul protection, and powering it from my soul and cultivation to overcome law suppression, I created it—magic to traverse parallel realities in the past!
"Ahem, need to work on the name," I coughed quietly into my fist, trying to shake off the melancholy. Since I merged with local Mu Bai's soul (though the choice was random; the only condition for reincarnation was the magic potential I needed), I'm now a full resident of this reality, and the way back is closed—my previous reality is a future parallel one... I won't think about how that sounds.
But what to think about: my current capabilities. My old elements from the past, which is the future... Ahem, anyway, my old elements regressed to first step initial level, but I'd already subdued the stars in them and could use them now, freely altering spells like high-tier and above mages—control is a skill, and I controlled my old elements very well. Something tells me breakthroughs in old elements won't change that.
I can also use my laws, as my soul is marked by them, though limited by small reserve.
"Now for the most important," I focused and tried merging light and healing elements—the "simplest" known combo (if fusion magic can be called simple). I used fusion magic without helper gloves, but only outside battle—times were far from peaceful, and every extra second in combat meant wounds or civilian deaths.
After a couple minutes, watching a lime-green orb float around me, I realized in this life I definitely wouldn't lack resources. Why would I, when I can stroll to a parallel reality in the past and gather them based on present knowledge?
A predatory smile lit my face.
