Chapter 38 - Chapter 37

We spent a full week in the Three-Step Tower with Ai Tutu. Though we finished our business in a couple days, we stayed the full session for cover.

After a week, people usually stop cultivating—the body adapts to the heavy magic flow, and staying longer just wastes precious time.

In those extra five days, we just chatted, sharing little things about ourselves, and cultivated five hours daily—of course. More precisely, I cultivated while she subdued Plant Element stars. With my star control pendant, it shouldn't take long.

I also told her about my "real" talent effects, so she fully got why I hide so hard. Anyone with my skills would be killed or enslaved. No third option without enough personal power.

Over those days, our bond deepened a lot. Before, it was just mutual like. Now, learning each other's character and history solidified our feelings.

Leaving the tower, we hit a family cafe near the university for a bite. Heavy magic flow sustains the body fine, but Ai Tutu wasn't used to pure magic feeding, so she dragged me to eat.

Then we strolled home leisurely, flirting and popping into shops that caught our eye. Ai Tutu even bought a panda-print pajama I liked, after I said it'd suit her.

She made me get the matching male version. Basically, we did normal couple date stuff, which we both loved. Sometimes it's nice to dip into normal life, forgetting monsters that could wipe your city anytime.

Back home, we ran into furious-as-hell Mu Nujiao. Very untypical for her—someone really pissed her off. Wonder who the suicide is?

"Where were you!? I've been worried sick for a week! How can you vanish that long without warning?! What was I supposed to think!?" Mde, guess that's me.

While Ai Tutu blushed in shame, stammering excuses about where we'd been and why we forgot our roommate, I remembered the gift.

"Jiao Jiao, don't boil over. We admit fault, won't happen again. But look at this cool thing I brought you." I pulled the tropical vine seed vessel from my spatial ring, taken from Bo Chok.

"This..." Mu Nujiao took it, opened it, and probed with her plant sense.

"Seeds of Amazon tropical vines! Super flexible and tough—even a Pack Chieftain monster would take ages to break free! Where'd you get such a rarity?" Desire burned in Mu Nujiao's eyes.

"You forgot—these cost as much as a strong Spiritual Seed. And yes, as I said, my gift for helping Ai Tutu and this annoying slip-up." I reminded her.

"Too expensive a gift—I can't accept." Despite her words, she didn't let go of the vessel. Eh, women love being persuaded.

"Don't sweat the price—these came to me easy. Easy come, easy go." At that, Mu Nujiao "reluctantly" accepted.

"Also, see why we stayed a week." I handed her the Three-Step Tower pass.

"A Three-Step Tower pass! Over two years! And it lets you bring others!" Now her eyes beamed gigatons of envy my way. Even her family wouldn't give her that.

"Take it for now and do a week in the tower. Ai Tutu and I won't need it for three months—it'll boost your cultivation. Your family might finally notice and splurge on a Wind Element Spiritual Seed." Temptress-snake tone, offering forbidden fruit—she couldn't refuse, even joking.

Mu Nujiao strives hard for family favor, to avoid forced marriage later. For that, she needs power.

"Thanks." She whispered gratefully, clutching the pass tight. Clearly awkward taking such a treasure freebie, but as I figured, no refusal.

"After you exit, I'll take you and TuTu to practice monster fights at Dongting Lake. A good mage excels not just in high cultivation, but combat experience." I laid it out.

"But it's dangerous..." Mu Nujiao started.

"With my two peak Pack Chieftain summons, we're fine till a Commander. Even then, I have an escape." I reassured.

"You can't become a truly strong mage without heavy combat experience. Trust someone fighting monsters since first-year magic school." I pinned her with a stare, seeing her about to argue again.

I wouldn't waste time and resources on a side girl, even TuTu's friend, but in canon, Mu Nujiao reached High Level peak solo.

With my support and future control talent boost, I'm sure I can make her a full Sealed Level mage, releasing matching magic independently.

In the future monster war, more and stronger Sealed mages for humanity? The better.

Once Mu Nujiao reluctantly agreed, she went to cultivate in the Three-Step Tower. I turned to my girl. Hugging her, nose in her hair, I said:

"Before we're alone home a whole week, first awaken a new element. Though with my help you could awaken any, I suggest Summoning." I outlined her development plans.

"With a good spatial summon, I'll help after getting one needed artifact." I thought of fusion magic gloves.

You can learn without, but with them, way easier. Good I memorized their crafting and saw blueprints. Pin Zhou Lun shared his invention freely.

But order from a parallel-world artifactor—I'm good for disposable soul vessels at best. Never got into artifactics much in past life, too busy cultivating.

"For the contract creature, no worries. Solid info: in a year and a half, a Fire Element creature births in Donghai. I have a plan to get it." I described Summoning prospects.

"No need to go on. If you want me to awaken Summoning, I will. No reason to refuse such a strong element. Especially when my boyfriend plans my growth so hard." Smiling, she kissed me passionately.

After ten minutes of caresses, I gathered my will into a fist, managed to tear myself away from her, and transferred to a parallel world, to Bo City, during the catastrophe.

I think Bai Yang won't mind sharing his Summon Element. And even if he does mind, the opinion of a Black Church member means nothing to me from the Three-Step Tower.
