Prologue: A forgotten night placed them under the same roof, but the real chaos began the moment brian walked through the door.
"You don't remember what you did last night?"
Zaden stood there in silence. The embarrassment was heavy; he had never drank before last night, and the blank spaces in his memory made him assume the worst
"Do you always end up in a woman's house whenever you drink?" she pressed."
"Lara, no, I..."
"Or is it only me you are trying to use?"
"What? Hey, wait—"
"So I work in your company," Lara interrupted, her voice tight. "And then you interfere in my personal life, saying whatever you want in front of the media without thinking about me. Now you come into my house without knocking and end up sleeping on my bed?"
Zaden stood there, unable to answer her accusations.
"Why are you silent? Sir? Sorry... Zaddyyy?"
"First of all, I am so sorry," Zaden replied, his voice hesitating. "I don't remember how I even ended up here. I never drank before, this is my first time. I will never do this again." He paused. "Did I do something wrong?"
Lara gave him a disappointed look. "You have done enough to make me regret all of my decisions.
"What?"
Before she could answer, there was a sharp knock at the door. *Knock! Knock!*
Lara went down the stairs and opened the door. It was Brian.
"Hey, hi," Lara said.
Brian looked past her and saw Zaden standing at the door of Lara's room upstairs. The two men exchanged a dark glance.
"What's going on?" Brian asked, confused.
Lara stepped outside, closing the door behind her. "Let me explain, it's not what you think!"
"Then what is it? Why is he here? He looks tired, did he sleep here last night?"
"Yes, but not how you think," Lara replied quickly. "He got drunk and ended up here last night. I didn't know what to do, so I just made him sleep on my bed and I slept on the couch."
"Wait... he came here last night because he was drunk?"
"Yes."
"Why would he come here?"
"I don't know! I was asking him the same thing and then you came," Lara said.
Brian pushed past her, opening the door harshly. Zaden wasn't in the hallway anymore.
"Hello?" Brian called out.
The sound of a shower running echoed from Lara's bathroom. Brian looked at Lara, unable to believe it. "What the fuck is actually happening here? He is taking a shower in your bathroom?"
"I..." Lara tried to speak.
"What's going on between you two?"
"Nothing!" Lara burst out.
Silence filled the room.
The bathroom door opened. Zaden walked out, finishing his shower, wearing Lara's body towel around his hips as if it were his own.
Lara stood frozen. Brian looked at Zaden and said hello by introducing himself and also he noticed zaden's physical build, jealousy clearing in his eyes, then looked back at Lara, who was staring at the floor. The moment was entirely awkward.
Ignoring Brian, Zaden looked at Lara. "Do you have a hair towel?"
"Yes," she said quickly, running into her room to get it.
Zaden stepped closer to Brian. "And I'm Zaden," he said with a smirk.
"What are you doing inside my girl's house, Sir?" Brian asked.
Zaden's eyes tightened with anger. "Your girl?"
The tension spiked between them. Lara returned, breaking the silence as she handed the towel to Zaden. Locking his sharp glance on Brian, Zaden took it, went inside Lara's room to change, and came back out fully dressed.
Brian turned to Lara. "You should give me a proper explanation about this." He walked outside and slammed the door harshly, refusing to listen to her try to explain.
Walking away in anger, Brian's mind raced. He was completely confused by Zaden's sharp look and his question ^your girl?^ wondering what it was supposed to mean.
Zaden walked past Lara toward the exit. "I'll leave for the office. Thanks for your care for me.
Lara stood there frozen as he walked out. "What the hell?" she muttered.
Zaden went down to his car, drove straight to his house to change again, and headed to the office. His mood was enlightened. He didn't remember a single thing from the night before, but knowing he had triggered Brian and caused a misunderstanding between him and Lara made him happy.
He entered the office with a smile on his face, shocking the staff.
Frustrated, Lara tried calling Brian multiple times, but he didn't pick up. Nervous and confused, she finally gave up, got ready for work, and took a cab to the office.
When she arrived, Zaden's unusual smile filled the floor, while Lara walked in right behind him, completely frustrated.
