First of all, sorry for anyone who thought this was a new chapter. This is for giving a small clarification of Jay's past- not completely (that will be revealed after the plan reveal of kief- there's no plan but he says there's a plan for jay to hate him and to protect her same as in book)
So basically she grew up in London with her biological father Jaspher and stepmother reycee who loved jay like her own daughter along with Percy (2 years older), Jare (same age her twin), and her younger brother leo (currently 11 years old). They were happy, they were peaceful. That is until the accident that took the life of all the Mariano's family.
At least that was what everyone believed. What they didn't know was that the children- all 4 of them survived. Jay went to her biological mother Jeanna's where she was abused by her stepfathers (plural).
Percy went to his biological mother's house the Collins family with Felix and that's when he met and became best friends with Kiefer, Aries and Yuri.
Jare went to New York to fight for the company and the inheritance which was hard because he couldn't reveal his identity. But somehow he managed to get himself (and later on Jay) a position in the Mariano company.
Leo was the biological son of reycee and Jaspher. He lost both his parents. So he was sent to love with his grandparents who didn't care for him but took him in for the money. They don't hurt him physically, jay makes sure of that, but they don't love him. They don't show care. They show rudeness. He gets all exited and decides to share that he got full marks? "I don't care kid. You're still good for nothing waste of space. Go away." Yeah. That's the response.
What happened with Jeanna Fernandez? Why does jay hate her so much? How did she escape that hellhole? What did she do from there? More importantly- Who tried to hurt them that they decided to stay dead to the world?
Now about Jay's trauma- yes, she does have trauma. Yes, she turns into a different person, loses her sense of control and feels like she's stuck on that night she and Aries got kidnapped again. No, it's not blood trauma. She gets triggered anytime she sees anything that reminds her of that memory. A dark room with similar details? Check. Too much blood coming out the same way or in same place it did that day? Check.
But just blood? No trauma.
And now, the most important part: she remembers everything that happened in the past exept what happened with Aries and Cyrus. Her trauma started with Aries. She tells Angelo and everyone else that she doesn't remember her past because she doesn't want to remember.
Now back to the near present. Yes jay still gets lost in the haunted house and her trauma gets triggered because something about that room felt familiar and a sense of fear and unsafeness rushed over her. She hears voices she doesn't even know. Sees details she doesn't remember. Of that night. Kiefer comes and helps her and the scene resumes as per og book. Sorry but I'm not writing those.
Some scenes are better left unchanged. To me? A few of these scenes are irreplaceable. So I won't be writing those. I'll be skipping the timeline to the plan reveal as soon as possible. From there the storyline will be completely mine, completely not relied on the original books.
Till then please be patient with me guys have faith. But don't worry, I'm definitely writing a chapter of honey bee rider and Jay's jealousy😉. I'll be taking a slightly different approach to it. But don't worry. Roast battle is surely incoming very soon...
