CHAPTER 024: THE BLOODLINE BREACH
I stare at the clearance code for a long time without saying a word.
Dominic stands beside me, close enough that I can hear him breathing.
Before I can think about why, I close the access log, fast.
"Anything useful?" he asks from beside me.
My hand stays on the mouse for half a second too long. "Still compiling," I say evenly, opening another window before he can question it. "Give me twenty minutes."
He studies me briefly, like he knows I'm holding something back but hasn't decided whether to push.
Then he nods once and moves across the room.
"I'll make a call," he says, pulling out his phone.
I use those twenty minutes carefully.
Every instance of that clearance code gets cross-checked against movement logs, security timestamps, internal access points.
Fourteen entries total.
Twelve line up with Dominic's confirmed locations.
Two do not.
I stare at the mismatched timestamps.
"Damn it," I mutter under my breath.
