We do not get a honeymoon.
This is not a surprise, exactly, given that this family has not managed an uninterrupted week since the night we first descended into a harbor chamber and everything began. What is a surprise is the specific nature of the interruption, which arrives not through an anonymous threat or a legal challenge or an enemy we have been tracking for months, but through Eleanor, sitting at the kitchen table the morning after the wedding with her hands folded and an expression on her face that I have learned, in the last several weeks, means she has made a decision and has been living with it long enough that she is past the point of reconsidering it.
