Chapter 105 - After The End of The War

Silence.

Real silence.

Not the silence before battle.

Not the silence of fear.

The silence that came after surviving something the world should not have survived.

The shattered remains of the World Gate drifted slowly across the dark sky like fading stars while fragments of broken system authority disappeared little by little into nothingness.

The war was over.

The battlefield no longer trembled.

Reality had finally stopped collapsing.

And yet—

nobody moved for several seconds.

Because no one fully believed it had ended.

Riven was the first to sit down heavily on the fractured ground.

"…I'm alive."

He stared blankly upward.

"…That's honestly surprising."

The Inferno Monarch and the remaining Divine forces had already disappeared from the battlefield during the system's retreat. Whether from fear, exhaustion, or survival instinct—

none of them had chosen to continue fighting Eclipse after witnessing Kael.

The battlefield belonged to silence now.

Kael still stood motionless at the center of the ruins.

The black Eclipse fractures around him had faded almost completely, but traces of distorted space still flickered unevenly near his hands.

Elara remained beside him.

She hadn't let go of his hand since the battlefield stabilized.

And Kael hadn't pulled away.

The ruined sky reflected quietly in his eyes now instead of endless darkness.

Human again.

Mostly.

Riven looked toward them weakly.

"…You two seriously traumatized me."

For the first time in hours—

the corner of Kael's expression moved slightly.

Not fully a smile.

But enough.

Riven pointed dramatically.

"There! I saw it! Emotional growth!"

Elara almost laughed softly.

And hearing that sound—

small and real—

made something inside Kael finally loosen for the first time since the war began.

The world still existed.

Elara still existed.

And somehow—

that felt impossible.

Vireon stood a short distance away from them silently.

The black fractures covering his arm had spread farther now.

Far enough that reality around him occasionally flickered unnaturally.

Kael noticed immediately.

"…You're getting worse."

Vireon looked down at the fractures calmly.

"Yes."

The answer came without hesitation.

Riven's expression dropped.

"Father…"

But Vireon only looked toward the ruined sky.

"The system retreating bought time."

"Time for what?" Kael asked quietly.

Vireon finally looked toward him again.

"For you to choose what kind of Eclipse you become."

Silence settled again.

Because everyone understood the meaning behind those words now.

The war against the system had ended.

But Kael's future had not.

The fear surrounding Eclipse would not disappear overnight.

And neither would the danger inside him.

Elara stepped slightly closer beside Kael.

Then answered before he could.

"He won't face it alone."

Vireon watched her carefully for several seconds.

Then, unexpectedly—

he smiled faintly.

"…Good."

Riven blinked immediately.

"…Wait, was that approval?"

"No," Vireon answered calmly.

"That was relief."

The battlefield wind moved softly through the ruins.

For the first time—

it no longer smelled like destruction.

Only aftermath.

Kael looked toward Vireon again.

"You knew she could stop me."

"Yes."

"And if she failed?"

Vireon's gaze turned toward the distant horizon.

"…Then I would've killed you before the Second Eclipse fully awakened."

The silence after that felt heavier than the battlefield itself.

But Kael did not look surprised.

Because deep down—

he already knew.

Vireon stepped forward slowly.

The distorted reality around him flickered harder now.

And suddenly—

Elara understood something terrifying.

He wasn't staying.

Riven realized it too.

"…Father?"

Vireon stopped beside them briefly.

Then looked toward Kael one last time.

"You've already surpassed me in one way."

Kael's expression narrowed slightly.

"How?"

Vireon's eyes shifted briefly toward Elara.

"You still have someone capable of bringing you back."

Silence.

Then Vireon looked away toward the fading sky.

"And that is the only thing stronger than Eclipse."

The black fractures around him deepened suddenly.

Reality distorted violently for half a second.

Then—

Vireon disappeared.

Not through teleportation.

Not through space distortion.

He simply vanished into the fading darkness itself.

Riven stared silently at the empty space where his father had stood.

"…He always leaves like the final boss of reality."

But his voice sounded quieter now.

Sadder.

The battlefield remained silent afterward.

The war had ended.

The system had retreated.

The world survived.

Yet standing among the ruins—

Kael felt something unfamiliar settling over him for the first time in years.

Peace.

Small.

Fragile.

But real.

Then Elara's hand tightened slightly around his again.

And Kael realized something else too.

For the first time—

he wanted a future beyond war.
