Chapter 25 - Chapter Twenty-Seven: Where You Stay

The drive back to the mansion was quiet.

Not awkward.

Not distant.

Just… full.

Alicia sat beside Michael, her hand resting lightly in his.

Neither of them let go.

"You were very dramatic back there," she said softly, glancing at him.

Michael didn't look at her right away.

"They disrespected you."

Alicia smiled faintly.

"And you fired someone over it."

Now he looked at her.

"I protected what's mine."

Her breath caught.

The words lingered longer than they should have.

When they arrived, the mansion doors opened as usual.

James stood waiting.

"Welcome back, sir. Madam."

Alicia blinked slightly at the title.

But didn't correct it.

"There's been a slight adjustment," James added calmly.

Michael raised an eyebrow.

"What kind of adjustment?"

"Miss Alicia's belongings," James said.

"They've been moved to the master bedroom."

Alicia turned quickly.

"They have?"

Maria stepped forward with a soft smile.

"We organized everything carefully," she said.

"Your dresses are arranged beside Mr. Alejandro's," Lina added.

"And your personal items as well," Maria continued.

Alicia looked at Michael.

He hadn't said a word.

But something in his expression told her…

He knew.

"Only the studio was left untouched," James finished.

Alicia nodded slowly.

"Thank you."

Her heart beat faster as she walked toward the stairs.

This wasn't just symbolic anymore.

It was real.

Master Bedroom – Moments Later

The door closed softly behind them.

Alicia stepped inside.

And stopped.

Her clothes.

Her shoes.

Her presence

Everywhere.

Blended seamlessly with his.

It didn't feel like she moved into his room.

It felt like…

They created something new.

"Our room," she whispered.

Michael stood behind her.

Close.

"Yes," he said.

She turned slowly.

There was something different in his eyes now.

Not just control.

Not just protection.

Something deeper.

"You didn't ask me," she said softly.

"I didn't think you'd say no."

Alicia stepped closer.

"And if I did?"

Michael's hand moved to her waist.

Steady.

Certain.

"You wouldn't mean it."

Her breath caught.

"You're very confident," she murmured.

"Only when I'm right."

A soft silence fell between them.

Then Alicia reached for him.

Not hesitant anymore.

Her hands rested against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm beneath.

"I think…" she whispered, "you might be right."

That was all it took.

Michael pulled her closer.

The kiss wasn't rushed.

But it wasn't gentle either.

It was certain.

Deep.

Filled with everything they hadn't said.

Alicia leaned into him, her fingers curling into his shirt as he held her firmly against him.

His hand slid slightly along her back steady, grounding, keeping her close.

She didn't pull away.

Didn't hesitate.

Instead, she moved closer.

Instead, she moved closer.

And for a moment

Nothing else existed.

No company.

No competition.

No enemy watching from the shadows.

Just them.

When they finally parted, their foreheads rested together.

Their breaths uneven.

"You really moved everything," she whispered.

Michael's thumb brushed gently against her cheek.

"I meant what I said."

A pause.

"You belong with me."

Alicia smiled softly.

"And you're not getting rid of me now," she said.

A rare, quiet laugh escaped him.

"Good."

He kissed her again

Softer this time.

Lingering.

And this time…

She stayed in his arms.

Later That Night

Downstairs, the house returned to its usual rhythm.

James ensured everything remained in order.

Maria and Lina finished their duties quietly.

But upstairs

Something had changed.

Not forced.

Not arranged.

Real.

And somewhere beyond the gates

The enemy watched.

Closer now.

More certain.

Because love had finally taken root.

And that…

Was exactly what they needed.
