Chapter 128 - Onyxia Played Stormwind’s Nobles — Achievement Minus One

It didn't drop.

General Angerforge did not drop Hand of Justice. Instead, he dropped a physical mail chest piece, which went to Hugo.

Marshal Windsor's Lost Information.

"Got the first one."

To get Windsor, the fool who had apparently lost half his sanity in that cell, to finally leave, they had to collect two pieces of intelligence. The second one was on the next boss, Golem Lord Argelmach.

Argelmach was at the end of the passage opposite General Angerforge. The annoying part was that they had to clear the trash mobs on both sides first, especially the Technicians walking back and forth. Otherwise, they would get buried in adds.

"Clear everything. Don't get greedy."

After escorting Marshal Windsor, they still had to rescue Moira. Gabryell did not plan to skip through the lava. He was going to take the normal route and clear every boss in BRD, giving Carlos and the others some experience and a chance at more gear.

"We'll hit the Grim Guzzler later too. We're clearing that as well."

There was no way they were skipping the Grim Guzzler. The Wayfarer's Knapsack and Schematic: Goblin Jumper Cables XL were both way too good to pass up.

When clearing the mobs on both sides of Argelmach, having a Mage was extremely important. Without Mage AoE, a pile of Technicians could turn into a real headache. Their own damage was not high, but the bombs they threw dealt serious AoE damage.

"Watch the bombs."

Gabryell gave a quick reminder. If several bombs stacked together, even a level 60 character could get blown up on the spot.

He went in with Frost Nova, Cone of Cold, and Arcane Explosion, moving cleanly through the pack. A strong Mage would always be welcome in any dungeon.

A Mage who did not dare AoE goblins was not a real Mage, especially when it came to the goblins in Blackwing Lair. If you were not willing to dive in and blow them up, forget topping the damage meters.

Clearing the trash took about ten minutes. Finally, only Argelmach and his two golems remained.

"Kill the golems first. Don't touch Argelmach yet."

If they did not touch Argelmach, he would not immediately attack the players. Instead, he would first run for the alarm outside and try to summon the remaining golem trash to save him.

Since all the outside trash had already been cleared, they did not need to worry about him sounding the alarm. They could use that window to kill the two golems inside first.

If they had not cleared the outside packs, then they would have needed to attack Argelmach immediately and stop him from triggering the alarm.

With the trash gone, killing the two golems first would reduce pressure on the main tank.

"I'll grab Argelmach."

After one golem died, the other still had about half its health left. Argelmach came back, and Carlos immediately used Taunt to pick him up.

"Finish the golem, then swap to the boss."

The tactic stayed the same. Once the two golems were dead, Argelmach was basically free loot.

A free boss, and one that dropped good gear. Both caster DPS and healers liked him.

"Come on, Omnicast Boots."

Naturally, Gabryell wanted the boots with 22 spell damage. They had even more spell power than tier 1 boots.

"A trinket dropped," Lunatori said after opening the loot window. "Oh. I think this is for me."

Things did not go the way Gabryell hoped. She had not looted Omnicast Boots. Instead, she had pulled out a top-tier healer trinket: Second Wind.

Second Wind

Requires Level 54

Use: Renews 30 mana every 1 second for 10 seconds. (15 min cooldown)

Equip: Increases healing done by spells by up to 22.

Good stuff.

"Grats, Luna," Gabryell said. "That thing's basically an artifact right now."

This was the first healer-only trinket they had ever seen. If that was not an artifact at this stage, what was?

Lunatori sounded a little embarrassed. "Thank you, everyone."

"You earned it," Gabryell said.

Before Dire Maul opened, Second Wind plus Briarwood Reed was the best trinket combination for healers. Briarwood Reed was not exclusive to caster DPS. You could not just see spell damage on it and decide it belonged to DPS while telling healers to get lost.

Read the green text carefully. Briarwood Reed also added 29 healing.

You don't want healers rolling Need on Briarwood Reed? Fine. Then don't bring healers. Go run UBRS with an all-DPS group and fill it with caster DPS. Good luck finding that easier than finding a healer.

After obtaining the second piece of Marshal Windsor's Lost Information, they could return to Marshal Windsor and continue the questline.

"Back to Windsor."

Before the mobs respawned, they would escort him first. Once that was done, they could continue clearing the remaining bosses.

The group returned to Windsor's cell and handed him both pieces of intelligence.

After receiving the two documents, Marshal Windsor was finally willing to leave.

"We're leaving this place. Help me retrieve my equipment from the supply area, then we'll rescue my friend. If we make it out alive, meet me at Marshal Windsor's camp."

Windsor left the cell, and the escort began.

"Stick to him. Don't let anything chew on him."

Gabryell followed closely beside Windsor. The marshal was painfully fragile. Without player help, he would absolutely die.

During the escort, a wave of mobs would spawn every short distance. After they killed the mobs, Windsor would continue forward.

"I get it now," Carlos said. "No wonder he got captured."

"He's stubborn as hell."

Every time Windsor helped the players kill a pack of mobs, he would run back to the exact spot where he had been standing when the mobs spawned. It was unbelievably stupid.

"Just wait," Gabryell said. "It gets worse."

Thinking of Windsor's movement speed, Gabryell wanted to throw the man over his shoulder and carry him. He walked so slowly that it did not look like he was escaping for his life. It looked like he was taking a tour.

"How did someone this bad become a marshal?" Igor asked.

"That's probably why he got captured."

For once, Gabryell agreed with Igor. Windsor really was bad. He had no idea how this man had become one of Turalyon's favored soldiers. Back when he followed Lothar to Karazhan, he had probably just survived by being part of the crowd.

"Maybe the cell got to him," Gabryell added after thinking it over. "Hard to blame the guy completely."

Marshal Windsor was still a tragic hero of the Alliance. He deserved at least a little respect.

They escorted him all the way to retrieve his equipment. After putting his gear back on, Windsor was still painfully fragile. Without the players' help, he would have died miserably.

"He's petty too?" Carlos said.

When they escorted him to the outer ring of the arena, Windsor's behavior stunned everyone even more. He actually used the players to get revenge on a Defias Inmate he had a grudge against.

"Now I finally understand why Stormwind's elite is such a mess," Igor said.

"The Alliance is doomed," Hugo added.

One marshal being weak was bad enough, but he was petty on top of it. How strong could the rest of Stormwind's elite possibly be? No wonder Onyxia had them all wrapped around her finger.

Gabryell had reason to suspect that Windsor had only avoided Onyxia's seduction because he had no interest in women. Onyxia failed to get him, flew into a rage, and had Bolvar exile him to the Burning Steppes.

Onyxia Played Stormwind's Nobles — Achievement Minus One.

Only Marshal Windsor was missing.

A man that straight really was something else.

They escorted him while fighting their way forward, making a full loop before the leisurely Marshal Windsor finally sped up and ran toward the entrance of BRD.

"Holy crap, he can run?" Carlos said.

Everyone stared as Windsor suddenly accelerated.

If he could run, why had he spent the entire escort walking slower than someone's grandma crossing the street?

"Good thing we cleared this place first," Gabryell said. "Otherwise, this escort would've been ugly."

If they had not cleared the ring of mobs in advance, then with Windsor's speed and terrible combat ability, they would most likely have wiped.

"Everyone, go to the entrance and turn in the quest. Don't leave the dungeon, or the quest fails."

This was another bug. If they did not talk to Windsor at the dungeon entrance to turn in the quest and accept the follow-up, then left the dungeon and came back in, he would no longer talk to them.

Congratulations. You just got Blizzarded.

The only fix would be to reset the dungeon and escort Marshal Windsor all over again.

With Gabryell's reminder, no one left the instance.

"We'll clear BRD first, then go back and report to Maxwell."

Marshal Windsor had been rescued, but deep inside BRD, there was an even more troublesome princess waiting to be saved.

Princesses in World of Warcraft were all more annoying than the last.

If they were not trouble, they would not be princesses.
