Chapter 1 - When Love Turns Into Pain

The night was quiet.

A soft breeze touched the curtains as Lilly sat by the window, her phone resting in her hand. The screen kept lighting up again and again.

Nick calling…

Nick calling…

She stared at his name, her fingers slightly trembling… but she didn't pick up.

A tear rolled down her cheek.

Because she knew—

if she answered, she would break all over again.

Back in 2020, Lilly was just a 7th-grade girl.

Too young to understand love, too pure to expect pain.

One afternoon, out of curiosity, she took her grandfather's phone and downloaded Instagram.

A new world opened in front of her—

new people, new messages, new attention.

She replied shyly to a few texts.

And among them…

there was someone different.

Nick.

They didn't talk much, just sometimes…

but even then, something felt warm.

Something… special.

But suddenly, Lilly deleted the app.

And just like that—

everything disappeared.

Two Years Later…... Destiny Again,

At the end of 2022, Lilly logged back in.

This time, she was more confident, more active.

One random evening, a memory hit her—

"That boy…"

She couldn't remember his name…

only one thing—

He had tagged her once.

Her heart started racing as she opened her tagged photos and scrolled slowly…

And then—

she found him.

She paused.

"Should I text him?"

"Will it feel weird after so long?"

After a deep breath… she typed—

"Hey… how are you?"

His reply came quickly—

"Why did you look for me? You didn't have to…"

But the conversation didn't stop.

It grew.

He told her softly,

"Once someone becomes special to me… I never forget them."

Her heart skipped a beat.

Days turned into nights,

nights turned into long calls,

laughter, comfort, care…

And one night, Lilly whispered—

"If you really love me… then say it."

Nick hesitated… he was scared…

But then he said—

"I love you."

April 6.

Her first love.

For one whole year, everything felt perfect.

"Did you eat?"

"Did you reach home?"

"Are you okay?"

Little things…

but they meant everything.

Lilly believed—

this is what love feels like.

Yes, they were different—

she was Muslim, he was Hindu…

But love felt stronger than all of that.

At least… that's what she thought.

Slowly… things started changing.

Nick got a job at a restaurant.

At first, it was fine.

Then came the distance—

Late replies.

Missed calls.

Cold behavior.

Lilly felt it.

One day, she finally said—

"If this continues… I can't stay."

They fought.

Nick cried.

Apologized.

Promised—

"I won't hurt you again."

And Lilly… believed him.

Again.

But something was broken.

Every argument turned ugly.

Nick started saying things he shouldn't—

insulting her… even her family.

Lilly cried silently.

But she stayed.

Because she loved him more than herself.

March 6, 2025.

A date she would never forget.

She found out the truth—

Nick had cheated.

Not just emotionally…

but physically.

Her world collapsed.

Her hands shook.

Her chest felt heavy.

And the worst part?

She blamed herself.

"Maybe I wasn't enough…"

She begged him to come back.

And he did.

For a while.

Then again—

he cheated.

This time… with two girls.

Lilly felt nothing.

No anger.

No tears.

Just emptiness.

Still… she tried.

Calls. Messages. Pleading.

Until one day—

He blocked her. Everywhere.

Lilly was alone.

The pain was unbearable.

There were nights she couldn't breathe…

moments she didn't want to exist anymore…

But somehow…

she survived.

Days passed.

Months passed.

For 6 months, she kept trying to reach him…

Then one day… she stopped.

And she realized—

"The one who broke me like this… was never mine."

Today, Lilly still has scars.

She hasn't forgotten everything.

But she's stronger.

Wiser.
