Chapter 190 - 190

Chapter 190 Warren underwent plastic surgery to succeed in the election.

Blanche looked up at the materials in her hand and nodded slightly.

Pei Hening felt a chill run down her spine, her palms broke out in a cold sweat, and she even felt a slight sense of panic.

The reason is that former mayor Varen and Ruen look about 40 percent alike.

The circus tickets she and Chu Xuange received were from Rune, making it hard for her not to suspect that Mayor Valen was connected to Rune...

"What's wrong?"

Blanche noticed her strange reaction and took a moment to ask her a question.

"Valen is quite good-looking."

"Oh, he had plastic surgery specifically to get elected mayor."

"The election criteria for the mayor of Nerna Port are that strict?" Pei Hening was genuinely surprised. "Then why don't you get plastic surgery?"

Blanche: "I'm not ugly, I'm just benefiting from my good looks."

Respect the garment before the person. Blanche is beautiful and doesn't fool herself. No matter how busy she is, she takes her appearance seriously and dresses neatly and cleanly. She has indeed benefited from her good looks.

Pei Hening had nothing to say.

"What do you want with me?"

"I need the room key for room 25-01. I need to go find Ben."

Blanche pressed her temples, looking tired, and asked, "What do you want with him?"

"Something came up."

"I can't give you the room key; it's not in accordance with regulations, and I don't have that right either."

Pei Hening was genuinely shocked: "You have no right?"

"Yes, I just found out that the actual owner of Dawn Casino is Warren."

"You should stay put for the next few days. Once I've arranged for most of the residents to evacuate, I'll arrange for your evacuation as well."

"If possible, I will stay alive."

Neither she nor Tribes had any inheritance to deal with; they had already made wills when they came of age, with family members as beneficiaries.

"But I have something urgent to discuss with him. Can't you really give me the room key?"

"Is it really not allowed?"

"Blanche?"

Blanche was getting a headache from all the noise.

"What if this is the last thing I ever ask of you in my life?"

Blanche, her face dark, took a room key from the drawer and threw it at her: "Here you go, here you go, I'm so annoyed, don't say such unlucky things in front of me, get lost!"

Pei Hening quickly grabbed the room key, blew her a kiss, and left cheerfully, saying, "Okay~ Bye-bye, cousin~"

Blanche shuddered and continued arranging the evacuation.

"Mayor Blanche, the fuel tanks of our two cruise ships docked in the harbor have been damaged by unidentified individuals!"

Blanche: "What did you say?"

The port city of Nerná has only one airport and six roads connecting it to other cities. Goods are transported there, and residents mainly rely on sea routes for travel.

The rapid development of the port city of Nerná is mainly due to its reliance on maritime transport.

Maritime transport is the lifeline of the global economy. A single ship can carry far more goods than land or air transport. It is no exaggeration to call the ocean a "free highway".

This is also why Blanche is confident that she can evacuate the citizens within three to four days.

"I'm coming right now!"

She grabbed her coat, which was casually draped over a chair, and hurriedly ran outside.

25-01.

Pei Hening took the room key and opened the door.

Before she even went inside, she could smell the strong stench of blood.

She went inside, closed the door, and walked towards the place with the strongest smell of blood, where she saw Ben lying unconscious on the ground.

She hesitated for a moment, then squatted down and raised her hand to check his breath—

She sensed a faint breath; he was on the verge of death.

Pei Hening wanted to ask him more questions, so she took out a bottle of basic healing potion from her card album and poured it into his mouth.

"Cough cough—cough cough cough—"

He struggled to open his eyes, which were filled with a longing for life.

"Help...help me."

Seeing him like this, Pei Hening took out another bottle of basic recovery potion and poured it into his mouth.

He recovered somewhat and picked up the bandage that had fallen to the ground to treat his wound.

Ben, sporting short black hair and wearing a dark gray tracksuit for easy movement (some parts of the tracksuit were stained black with blood), bandaged his left hand, grabbed a knife that had fallen to the side, and plunged it into his leg to dig out the bullet.

To distract himself, he asked, "You wanted to see me? What's up?"

Pei Hening asked, "What is your purpose in coming to Nerna Port?"

Ben grimaced in pain: "I came here to look for my sister. She came to Nerna Port ten years ago to collect folk songs and has been missing ever since."

"My parents went to great lengths to investigate and found out that my sister's disappearance was related to the Happy Circus."

He frowned. "When I received the invitation from Mayor Blanche, I thought it was the best opportunity to investigate my sister's disappearance, so I came here on my own initiative."

The system assigned him the task of avenging his sister.

He looked up at Pei Hening: "Cui Bisi, what is your purpose in coming here?"

Pei Hening didn't know if Ben was telling the truth or not, but she raised her chin slightly and said proudly, "As a renowned Golden Elephant Award Best Actress, I'm here naturally to promote myself."

She changed the subject: "How did you get all these injuries? You even have gunshot wounds."

He slowed down his movements as he bandaged the wound; he hesitated.

Pei Hening sensed his rejection and wariness, and asked with a smile, "I heard you went to the casino on the basement level and were chased. Is that true?"

Ben's expression changed several times. He looked up at Pei Hening and asked, "How did you know?"

The Happy Circus's headquarters are located on the basement level, so he naturally has to go there to find clues in order to find the murderer who hurt his sister.

Unfortunately, he didn't find any useful clues before he was discovered by members of the Happy Circus and relentlessly hunted down by them.

He went to the basement twice and was chased twice, but luckily each time a loser took the hits for him.

Otherwise, he would probably be long gone.

"I have my own sources of information. You went to the basement level to look for clues? Did you find anything?"

My face turned green with rage; I gained absolutely nothing.

He suddenly felt very wronged. He hadn't found any useful information, and instead, he had been beaten to the point of near death.

This time they even had to use props to escape, what a loss!

"Nothing was found. The basement is heavily guarded, and there are two different patrol systems."

After thinking it over carefully, he added, "The patrols are very frequent. If you want to go to the underground level, be prepared to be discovered at any time."

"That's all I can tell you, in return for saving me."

After saying that, he lowered his head and silently bandaged his wound, determined not to say anything no matter what Tribes asked.

Pei Hening raised an eyebrow, understanding his meaning, and looked around before her gaze fell on the table.

On the table was an open weapons bag containing a pistol, a tactical knife, a noose, cut-resistant gloves, silenced boxing gloves, a small laser sight, spare magazines, and even a syringe containing an unknown agent, as well as a small tear gas sprayer.

Pei Hening laughed: "You still haven't found the person you want to kill?"

Ben looked up in shock. How did she know?
