Chapter 19 - Crimson Nebula’s Eternal Daw

Crimson Nebula World was no longer just a gifted planet — it had become a living legend under Ye Tianhen's rule.

Floating islands drifted lazily above endless crystal oceans, their surfaces carpeted in spirit forests that glowed with starlight even at midnight. Spirit veins the size of mountain ranges pulsed beneath the central palace complex, flooding the entire system with qi so dense that ordinary mortals could feel their meridians opening simply by breathing. The defensive arrays Tianhen had personally forged with the God Rock turned the planet into an unbreakable fortress: golden barriers that could repel Void Shattering strikes, spatial folding zones that let friendly ships appear instantly at the palace docks, and time-stabilizing runes that made training grounds accelerate cultivation by tenfold.

Li Qing stood on the highest balcony of the imperial palace, one hand resting on the gentle swell of her belly, the other cradling little Qinglan against her hip. Xingchen chased spirit fireflies across the garden below, wooden sword swinging with surprising precision for a four-year-old.

"It's perfect," she whispered as Tianhen stepped behind her, wrapping strong arms around her waist. "You turned a gift into a home. Our home."

He kissed the side of her neck, voice low and warm. "You and the children are the reason I build. Everything else is just conquest."

Three days later, their third child entered the world.

The birth took place in the palace's private spirit spring chamber, surrounded by the soft glow of protective arrays Tianhen had tuned himself. Li Qing's labor was swift and strong — her royal blood and years of cultivation making it almost painless. When the midwife finally lifted the newborn, a tiny cry filled the chamber like the first note of a divine melody.

A girl.

Ye Mingyue — Bright Moon — named for the way her tiny body already radiated a soft silver light, faint strands of Space and Star Dao flickering around her like moonlight on water. She had her mother's phoenix-shaped eyes and her father's sharp, obsidian gaze. The moment Tianhen held her, the God Rock in his storage ring pulsed gently, as if acknowledging another piece of his legacy.

Li Qing, exhausted but radiant, reached up to touch his face. "She's perfect. Our family is complete… for now."

Tianhen smiled — the rare, gentle smile he reserved only for them — and kissed his wife deeply while the midwives quietly withdrew. That night, after the children were settled, he and Li Qing celebrated in the way they always did: slow, passionate, and utterly devoted. Her body moved against his with the same fiery grace as always, soft moans turning into cries of pleasure as they lost themselves in each other until dawn.

Word of the birth spread across the Crimson Nebula System like starfire.

The people had already begun to worship him.

Ever since Tianhen had taken ownership, the land had transformed. Crops grew three times faster. Spirit beasts that once terrorized the outer islands now bowed their heads in submission. Rogue void storms that used to ravage the floating cities simply vanished when they neared the borders. Merchants who once struggled to survive now grew rich trading Tianhen Void Anchors and the rare resources harvested under his stable rule.

In every city square, shrines appeared — simple stone tablets carved with his name and sword emblem. Parents told their children stories of the "God Rock Sovereign" who rose from trash to conquer the stars. Young cultivators knelt at the palace gates daily, offering flowers and jade slips, begging to be allowed even a glimpse of him.

"He is not a man," one elderly farmer was overheard saying in the capital market. "He is a god walking among us. Since he came, my fields yield ten times more. My grandchildren breathe qi like it is air. We are blessed."

Tianhen heard the whispers and accepted them quietly. Prosperity was power. Loyalty born of gratitude was stronger than fear.

But not everyone was grateful.

On the fifteenth day after Mingyue's birth, an envoy from the neighboring Shadowveil Kingdom arrived — a mid-sized stellar realm ruled by King Luo Zhan, whose territory bordered Crimson Nebula on three star systems.

The envoy was polite on the surface, dressed in dark silk and offering ceremonial gifts: rare shadow crystals and a bottle of Void Essence Wine. But his words dripped with passive aggression.

"King Luo congratulates the Sovereign on his new daughter and his… rapid expansion," the envoy said with a thin smile during the audience. "Though some wonder if such prosperity is sustainable. After all, a single man's trinkets cannot hold back true stellar powers forever. Perhaps the Sovereign should consider tribute arrangements to ensure continued peace between our realms."

The insult was clear: they feared his growing strength but tried to mask it with veiled threats and demands for "tribute."

Tianhen listened calmly, Mingyue sleeping peacefully in Li Qing's arms beside the throne. When the envoy finished, Tianhen stood.

"Return to your king with this message," he said, voice quiet yet carrying the weight of fused Daos. "Crimson Nebula does not pay tribute. It offers friendship to those who respect its borders. If Shadowveil continues its… passive interest in my affairs, I will send a more personal reply."

He raised one hand. A single Tianhen Void Anchor floated forward — flawless silver, glowing with runes. He infused it with a strand of his new Void Dao and tossed it lightly to the envoy.

"Give this to your king. Tell him to wear it. It will protect him from… accidents."

The envoy left pale and silent.

That same evening, Tianhen began something new.

He opened the gates of the palace academy — the Tianhen Star Hall — and announced free recruitment for any child under fifteen with talent. Thousands applied within hours. He walked among them personally, scanning meridians, testing potential.

In the outer city slums, his gaze fell on two ragged figures huddled in an alley.

A boy, thirteen, thin but with eyes like burning stars — extreme spatial talent hidden beneath dirt and hunger. Beside him, a nine-year-old girl, his younger sister, clutching a broken wooden bowl. Her qi flow carried faint but pure Time Dao strands, rare even among geniuses.

They flinched when he approached.

The boy stepped protectively in front of his sister. "We didn't steal anything, my lord. Please… we're just hungry."

Tianhen crouched to their level, voice gentle — the same tone he used with Xingchen and Qinglan.

"You are not in trouble. You have talent. Real talent. Come with me. Food, baths, clothes, and training. No one will ever hurt you again."

The siblings exchanged uncertain glances. The boy's fists clenched, wary after years on the streets. The girl peeked out, eyes wide with fear and fragile hope.

Tianhen extended his hand, smiling softly.

"Trust is earned. Let me earn it."

The boy hesitated… then slowly took the offered hand.

As Tianhen led them toward the palace baths and fresh robes, the God Rock hummed with quiet approval.

The Starry Sky had given him a kingdom.

Now it was giving him heirs of the heart.
