Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: Lonely Gourmet Cat

"Ow, ow, ow!!!"

Hoshino tugged on the little cat's fluffy tail, trying to pull it down.

But suddenly, a sweet, fragrant scent wafted over. He lost his focus for a moment and was kicked in the face by the opponent, who used the momentum to spring away, spinning once in mid-air before landing on the ground.

"Meow!"

Sprigatito stuck out its tongue and made a face, then turned and ran towards the door. Cyclizar reached out to grab it, but the cat reacted quickly, kicking off its face again as a springboard, and then slipped away.

"Gengar!"

Gengar spun around, waved his small hand, pulled out a dark shortbow, quickly drew the string, and fired more than ten arrows consecutively.

But to his surprise, Sprigatito didn't even look, dodging all of them by jumping left and right, not even touching its shadow. Then, he watched the opponent run out of the Yorozuya, jump down from the railing, and disappear.

"..."

Gengar was stunned, his face clearly showing the word "weak." He couldn't even hit that. He looked at the shortbow in his hand, beginning to doubt his ghostly existence.

Hoshino walked over, looking dejected. There were obvious teeth marks on his face, as well as paw prints from the soft pads, making him look very disheveled.

If he remembered correctly, Sprigatito could release a fragrant sweet aroma by massaging its paw pads, which could be used to confuse opponents.

That's how he lost focus for a moment and was kicked by the cat, allowing it to slip away...

The entire Yorozuya fell silent at this moment, looking at the empty Klawf claws on the ground. Who would have thought that just minutes ago they were happy, thinking they would have a good meal tonight?

Finally, Hoshino's expression darkened, and he came back to his senses, chasing after it: "How can I stand this? I can't! Go catch that thieving cat!"

"Cycli!"

"Gengar!"

The whole family moved out, running towards the street, but Sprigatito was long gone. And it was almost six o'clock, when Kabukicho would open, and then it would be impossible to find a Pokémon.

What a huge loss. A first prize won with his lifespan, but he didn't even see what the meat looked like before it was stolen and eaten. Who would have thought a cat would sneak into the box and be delivered with it?

Hoshino clenched his fists, but could only accept the outcome, saying dejectedly, "Let's go back and see. Maybe those crab claws can still make a pot of soup, at least so I know what it tastes like..."

As they returned to the Yorozuya, the Wanderer District reawakened, transforming into Kabukicho, and Pokémon began to arrive from all directions to enjoy the nightlife.

Each shop opened on time, and all the neon lights in the district lit up. The sudden change made the cat, hiding in a trash can in the alley next to an Izakaya, curiously poke its head out.

Then it climbed out of the trash can and quietly walked onto the main street, its pink eyes surveying its surroundings. Then it couldn't help but open its small mouth and let out a gasp of wonder.

"Meow~"

Just as it was lost in thought by the scenery, a growl came from the alley it had just exited from behind.

"Meow!!!"

"Meow?"

Sprigatito looked back and saw several gray Meowth standing with their tails raised in a threatening posture, looking at it as if to say this was their territory.

But in response, it again stuck out its tongue and made a face, completely unafraid of their intimidation. This action, however, directly infuriated these Meowth.

They extended their sharp claws and attacked simultaneously, but Sprigatito didn't care. Flowers like flying snow swirled around its body and shot forward!

Petal Blizzard hit head-on, knocking the unprepared Meowth back into the trash can. Then Sprigatito made another face and wagged its tail as it slipped away.

As it passed the Izakaya, it was seen by Slowking, who was carrying a movable sign out, and Slowking complained, "There are too many cats on this street. All kinds of cats are coming..."

Sprigatito walked proudly down the main street, constantly looking around. Although it didn't know why, it woke up in a strange place.

Even though the luxury here couldn't compare to some big human cities, it was its first time strolling with so many Pokémon, without worrying about being targeted by passing humans for a battle.

And it was truly lively here, with the smell of delicious food everywhere. It was simply paradise. These delicacies were too attractive for Pokémon.

"Meow~"

Sprigatito suddenly stopped, its gaze falling on a barbecue shop with an Octillery sign not far away. The aroma wafting from here was the strongest. It drooled and immediately ran over...

Inside the barbecue shop, Octillery, with a headband tied around its head, was swiftly flipping skewers and sprinkling seasoning with its eight tentacles, its movements fluid.

Next to it were two smaller Octillery, presumably apprentices who had come to learn, helping out. One could say their future was promising.

"Puff puff!"

"Puff!"

"Puff puff!"

Several Octillery were chatting about something, completely unaware that a cat was stealthily crawling up at their feet.

Seeing that the Octillery's attention wasn't on it, it immediately jumped up, took a bite of several nearly cooked grilled octopus skewers, and then directly slipped away. It was only then, hearing the commotion, that the Octillery finally came back to their senses.

"Puff?!"

Looking at Sprigatito escaping with the skewers in its mouth, the boss Octillery was furious. But realizing that its eight legs probably couldn't outrun the opponent's four legs, it set up its cannon and fired Octazooka shots.

Feeling the ink attacking from behind, a playful glint flashed in Sprigatito's eyes. It seized the opportunity, leaped onto a passing Incineroar, dodging Octillery's attack.

Incineroar instinctively turned around, but ended up getting a face full of ink. The effect was outstanding. After a brief moment of daze, it also became enraged, letting out a loud roar, and then charged towards Octillery.

The scene instantly became chaotic. A passing Gumshoos tried to mediate but was accidentally punched by Incineroar, and then also joined the battle.

Watching more and more Pokémon get involved in the distance, the instigator of it all hid in a corner, enjoying delicious barbecue while watching the show.

After eating, it didn't bother with the chaos there, but continued its journey, as a lonely gourmet cat, to find the delicacies on this street.

Then the dessert shops of Slurpuff and Alcremie, Gourgeist's conveyor belt sushi restaurant... all were swept clean, none escaped.

Then it ran into the red-light district, having heard some passing Pokémon mention that there were top-tier delicacies here that only adult Pokémon could enjoy.

As a result, it wandered around in a big circle and left with an expression of "I don't understand anything."

Finally, to avoid the chaos, it took a small path and successfully circled back, standing next to a building called Smile Restaurant. There was a scent here too!

"Meow~"

Sprigatito looked at the lively restaurant ahead. This would be its last meal tonight. It then slipped into the alley next to it, preparing to climb through the back window.

But just as it entered the alley, a sudden murderous intent struck. Several Meowth suddenly dropped from above, blocking its escape route.

And in front, more Meowth appeared, licking their claws, standing in its way. Clearly, the Meowth that were beaten before had called for backup.

"Meow?"

Sprigatito proudly raised its head and looked around. There were more than ten Meowth. This fight would indeed be a bit difficult, but it showed no weakness, striking first by using Petal Blizzard again!

The Meowth immediately dodged the incoming petals, but the area was too small, and some were still hit and scratched, which further fueled their anger. They swarmed forward, swinging their sharp claws, and entangled with Sprigatito...

The scene shifts. Who knows how much time passed, but most of the Meowth were knocked to the ground, and the remaining ones fled in panic with injuries. Ten-plus against one, and they still lost. They really didn't know how to play.

But Sprigatito was also in very bad shape. It was covered in wounds, its fur showed no clean spots, and it no longer had the strength to jump.

It could only climb through the window, wanting to enter the restaurant kitchen from here, have a full meal, and then find a place to rest.

Finally, it pushed hard, but suddenly lost all strength, completely unprepared, and its body fell inside, its head hitting the ground, passing out on the spot.

Hearing the commotion, Gardevoir, who was listlessly instructing her apprentice on cooking, looked over curiously.

"Garde?"
