Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: Kiana’s Birthday Project

"Come on, come on. Move that ribbon ten centimeters to the right, then shift it down two degrees… No, no, a little higher."

In the living room of Shun and Ana's house, Theresa stood with her hands on her waist, pointing and directing Shun, who was floating in the air constantly adjusting the position of the ribbons.

"My precious, I quit!" Facing Theresa's constant Chang Kaishen-style commands, Shun declared that whoever wanted to do this job could do it.

He had previously said Theresa liked to be a hands-off boss and was the ideal leader for workers. But now that something actually needed to be done, she was this troublesome.

With Shun's eyesight, as long as the ribbon didn't look crooked at first glance, it was fine.

As for why Theresa had come to Shun and Ana's place today, it was naturally because this birthday project was being carried out secretly behind Kiana's back.

In the past, Shun and Ana usually went to Himeko's house. Kiana herself rarely came here. So to keep it hidden, they simply decided to hold the birthday party here.

"I say, Theresa, you have to take a day off on the 7th. Aren't you going to finish all those piled-up tasks today?"

"Uh… I'll deal with it on the 8th…" Theresa thought she could drag it out for one more day. Anyway, she really didn't want to handle those endless official duties today.

It was obvious that St. Freya could run normally even if she ignored it every day, so why did she have to handle everything personally each time?

If Theresa asked Shun this question, he could actually answer it for her. When he went to Otto for the outfits, he had seen documents on Otto's desk that were identical to those on Theresa's desk.

Was this a grandfather's doting love for his granddaughter? Sure enough, little Senti was right — as long as Otto didn't die, Theresa would forever remain a child.

"By the way, is the cake you were supposed to prepare ready? Of course, it doesn't need to be too exaggerated. There aren't that many people anyway. But with several Kaslanas present, we don't have to worry about waste…"

Shun had originally wanted to tell her not to make the cake too big, but when he thought about the fact that there would be Kaslanas at the party, he suddenly realized he couldn't measure this world by the standards of his previous one.

"But you'd better not do anything sneaky like making it bitter melon flavored. Otherwise, no one except me will eat it with you."

Seemingly afraid Theresa would sneak in her personal preferences, Shun reminded her again. Given Theresa's level of obsession with bitter melon, if he didn't warn her, she might actually do something like that.

"So what exactly do you think I am in your eyes!" Theresa shouted at Shun in shame and anger.

"This is the first time I'm celebrating a birthday for my little niece! Although I can't hold a proper birthday for my big niece right now, I've already worked with Rita for a long time to coax her over. How could I possibly mess around at such an important time!"

Mm, that made sense. Although Theresa wasn't very reliable, she probably wouldn't go overboard on something like this.

"On the other hand, how are those two outfits you and Grandpa were working on? At least let me take a look. After all, they're nominally a joint gift from us."

On this matter, Theresa knew very well that she hadn't helped much, but since her name was attached to it, she naturally cared about the result.

"Mm, I went to see him this morning. He just finished the modifications. However, the final product is a bit different from what I imagined… See for yourself how it looks."

Thinking about how Otto had turned the formal dresses into Valkyrie armors, Shun felt a bit speechless. Was this an occupational disease acting up? Had the number of Valkyrie armors increased again?

Shun jumped down from the air and landed steadily in front of Theresa. He patted his knees, then waved his hand. Two exquisitely beautiful white formal dresses appeared before their eyes. The resemblance to the two skins in Shun's memory reached over 85%.

As for why they weren't 100% identical — well, games were still games. Some designs that worked in-game would be pure fanservice in reality. Neither Shun nor Otto could design something like that.

"Ohhh, they look really nice. They feel even better than Cecilia's set." Theresa examined them carefully and found she really couldn't spot any problems.

"After all, there are differences in skill even among tailors. Cecilia is still a bit behind Otto. Speaking of which, you might not believe it, but a few days ago, the names of these two outfits were…"

Shun deliberately left it hanging, planning to let Theresa guess. However, he figured she probably wouldn't be able to.

"Don't tell me Grandpa modified them from third-generation Valkyrie armors!" In this era, Valkyrie armors had only just been upgraded to the third generation. In the Far East Branch, only a few people could use them — they were still rare goods.

"Wrong. A few days ago, their names were 'Brilliant Knight • Moon Soul' and 'White Knight • Moonlight'. They are fourth-generation Valkyrie armors."

"Fourth generation? Isn't that the same as my Blood Knight • Moonlight? Grandpa was actually this generous!" Theresa was genuinely shocked this time. After all, fourth-generation armors were still just a few prototypes. The entire Schicksal's stock probably only had a few sets.

Shun spread his hands indifferently and said, "Who knows? Maybe that guy suddenly grew a conscience?" However, Shun knew that aside from Moon Soul originally being Durandal's armor, Moonlight had been designed by Otto for Kiana.

The original "Wings of Light Unfolding" had at least been a memory for old captains. But wasn't Chrono Rift Pursuing Light the armor of Flamescion? Was giving Moonlight a bit inappropriate?

Still, Song of the Nibelungen belonged to the Celestial Knight anyway. He would just ignore such minor details.

"Are you sure yours is Blood Knight • Moonlight?" Shun asked back. He remembered that to protect Theresa and prevent the Vishnu Factor inside her from going out of control, Otto had gone to extreme lengths.

Not only did he have her carry Judah, the Key of Binding, on her back at all times to suppress it, but even the God-Slaying Armor he created had measures against Vishnu.

In truth, Theresa's potential was really great. She was a natural MANTIS. Shortly after birth, she could tear Kevin apart with her bare hands. Because of Otto's excessive doting, she had been stagnant for over forty years.

Even so, in the Stigmata Project interlude, she casually ate something and was evaluated by Kevin as having the qualifications to face the Finality.

One could say Theresa's compatibility with Vishnu far exceeded that of her predecessor Kosma. She could perfectly use the power of a MANTIS with virtually no side effects.

Shun didn't know how Otto had gotten such insane luck during the A-series clone experiments to produce an SSR like Theresa.

If it were before, Theresa might have questioned it, but facing Shun who seemed to know everything, she really didn't have much confidence.

"Want to know? Beg me." Shun looked at Theresa with interest.

"P-please…" Theresa thought to herself that she had no dignity left in his eyes anyway, so begging was fine.

"Heh, even if you beg, I won't tell you." Seeing Theresa's exasperated look, Shun decisively teleported away. Ana didn't have classes this afternoon, so he was going to pick up his wife. He had no interest in watching this shorty suffer mental exhaustion here.

"Ah! Shun, you jerk!" Shun left, leaving only Theresa frantically grabbing at the air. The problem was that she had contributed to the decorations around her, so she couldn't even smash anything to vent her anger.
