Professor Kilton had his eyes on the three children of Baronet Oliver and the Guest of the Keyriftrian Empire. Watching them having breakfast and then all four running off to the dormitories.
His exhale had a bit more force than he noticed, "Hope as twisted as his should not get to walk in the steps of Rian no Tera." He said it to no one in particular, yet it was for himself. "And certainly not that girl who sent him here from Southern Regda continent."
Naph on the other hand felt as if his gaze detection should be detecting someone's gaze on him at that moment. 'It's odd. In here, I haven't felt as many as I did on Tarna.' His momentarily glazed eyes returning to attention as all four took another turn ascending the stairs of the dormitories, 'except for these three. What makes Jhorime special that I don't sense one?'
Feeling for a particular coin in his jacket from outside, he put the thought in the back of his mind to be remembered again.
Neva had led them straight to the third floor of their dormitory wing. "After every fifteen doors, there is an emergency exit. Keep that in mind Guest Anaphol."
"I already said please call me Anaphol or Naph." He skipped next to her.
"Yes, mister Anaphol."
Facepalming himself, "Just Naph. Just Naph."
Dren twisted a doorknob on a door behind them and said, "We are here." Neva's lips gained a playful smile for a moment, and just long enough that Naph could notice it.
'Ah, another order by their dad.' He too had a smile forming. 'Good kids. But who is he? And why give them such detailed orders?' Seemingly not caring how Neva led him away from their designated room.
Naph was the second to enter but as Vance entered last he closed the door as silently as possible, at the same time he whispered. "We are being watched."
Neva immediately followed up, "Entire Kyeriftrian Empire knows you have a Dream cata mind, but the question on everyone's mind is why is it you haven't taken it to Dreamed or Thought cata mind?"
"I just got to know of Dreamed and Dream," he said as he thought to himself 'questions their dad wants answered?'
Vance and Dren stayed quiet while Neva looked deep into Naph's eyes. Then she broke away, her violet hue eyes turning away. Looking between her brothers, a kind of silent conversation happened within moments.
Exhaling Naph broke the silence, "Let's just help me get to school for today."
"You need to first learn how to increase your cata mind." Vance said.
"I can't even say that word without getting teleported." Naph had assumed it as such after mere two instances of it and avoided saying it on purpose. The instincts of a bounty hunter stood behind this assumption.
"Hmm," Neva then said, "then we know what the first step we need to find is." Light crawled to touch her shadow from the window.
Walking across the room, Naph looked out the window between two bunk beds. And outside, students of the Sanctuary were spilling out of the several dormitory buildings into the gardens among them. All on the way to class.
Anaphol, Vance, Neva and Dren reached together to the class Naph needed to attend first.
Orientation and introductory class for new students.
The three children of Baronet Oliver weren't new but there was nowhere written that older students can't attend this class. And it helped many in case of very peculiar lesios.
Naph opened the door to the hall. Few students turned their heads to see who was the newcomer. Following him, Neva, Vance and Dren entered too.
The attention on all four was distributed so unevenly that if Naph wasn't a bounty hunter that hunted caestres, his fight or flight response may have kicked in. And that in itself was a mighty if that will never become true in any scenario since what happened in a past buried away within him.
Settling in into seats, Vance tapped Naph getting his attention. "How much along are you with any other language of Jhorime?"
Whispering back, Naph answered, "Same as when I first learned of the continent."
"Silence." Commanded a voice deeply embedded into the being of the classroom as if the classroom could not exist without this human's existence.
None had to turn their heads to take a look at who said it, except Naph of course. As he did, he noticed another man standing next to the one who had spoken.
The one who had addressed the class continued speaking the next moment, "This is Orientation and Introductory class by me, Professor Hudenro." Without stopping, he continued on. "Yes, I don't have a surname or a last name. Yes, I will address you all using a translating lesio and no cata will be spent by you for the translation for the duration of the class. Yes, we have a special student among us but that does not change what this class is and what its speed of teaching is supposed to be."
Hudenro's eyes scanned through his students.
"Now, Professor Kilton will like to address you all on a notice. This is for older students." Hudenro nodding to Kilton let him take center stage in front of the blackboard behind them.
By the time, Professor Kilton had done addressing all the students in a native language of Jhorime, there were plenty of groans and someone had thrown a water bottle at Vance that Naph caught. His hands did had a slight burn mark but Dren standing up handed him a jar of paste.
Locking eyes with him, Naph mouthed, 'What happened?'
Pointing to the jar of homogenous paste, Dren clearly said to Naph and to anybody else that wanted to listen in, "That's a healing paste. Don't overuse it. We will do something about the timetable issue Professor Kilton just declared."
Dren knew. He knew. Vance knew. Even Neva knew. That Professor Kilton was the prominent figure to object to Anaphol's presence at the Sanctuary.
Neva addressing Professor Kilton directly in the Reswa language that Naph knows, "Professor, that is wildly inappropriate given how older students with clashing lesios utilize this class to bypass their-"
"We have been working on providing better solutions to counteract those lesios. If you have one, let us know. Otherwise leave the classroom until the current batch has had three sessions of this class." Professor Kilton addressed her back in Reswa.
Hearing that Naph's mind secretly brought up a single statement from this morning, 'then we know what the first step we need to find is.'
Naph spoke as formally as he had learned from Don Extea, "Professor Kilton and Professor Hudenro, I have a lesio that forcibly teleports me away when I say a certain word. A very important word for lesios." Naph assumed cata is the most important word, he wasn't wrong by much. "Can you help me with that?"
None of the children of Baron Oliver expected that, nor did Professor Kilton or any other student. However, Professor Hudenro had a slight glimmer in his eyes.
