While Xiao headed to Dihua Marsh, while Rex Lapis led the adepti out to sea, and while a large force of elite Millelith soldiers was dispatched to garrison the Chasm, the Yaksha who had forgotten his own name and his companions was wandering the land of Liyue as a traveler.
He passed Lingju Pass. He entered Qingxu Pool. From this new perspective, he saw the world anew. During this time, the karmic debt and evil energy within him did not flare up. Instead, he managed to suppress them. Gradually, he even recalled fragments of the past. But he did not remember his name, nor his companions.
And so he continued walking, continuing his journey.
But just as he stepped into the Chasm, endless monsters had already invaded from the southwest, penetrating deep into the region. The battle to defend Liyue had begun.
At the Chasm, the Millelith garrison clashed with the monsters. The monsters were numerous. Though outnumbered and unable to hold out for long, not a single Millelith soldier flinched. They firmly believed that Liyue Harbor must already know of their situation and that Rex Lapis would send reinforcements soon.
But the monster invasion had erupted across multiple fronts in Liyue simultaneously. At sea, Rex Lapis and the adepti, though overwhelmingly powerful, faced the strongest monsters and were locked in a bitter struggle. At Dihua Marsh, Xiao fought tens of thousands of monsters alone, refusing to retreat a single step.
At that moment, every available fighting force in Liyue was already engaged. There were no reinforcements to send to the Chasm. The only thing the Millelith could do was to hold the monsters back with all their might, containing the disaster within the Chasm.
Under these circumstances, the mines of the Chasm were irreparably damaged, plunging the mountain people living there into misery.
Desperate to alleviate the monster disaster, the mountain people searched for local shamans to help the Millelith resist the creatures. Through their efforts, they did find several. Among them were two brothers, Boyang and Rongzhao, who were exceptionally skilled. The "Taisui Compass" they wielded had the power to influence space itself.
But what truly surprised and delighted them was that, while searching for shamans, they unexpectedly encountered a strange, nameless yaksha. They did not know his name, nor did they know his true strength. But judging from his four powerful arms and the countless scars covering his body, they knew he was no ordinary yaksha.
So they brought out food and wine to welcome him.
After he had eaten and drunk his fill, the mountain people tearfully told him of their suffering, of the destruction wrought by the monster invasion. They begged the yaksha to take action, to subdue the rampaging monsters and save the Chasm.
Having eaten and drunk well, Bosacius listened to their tearful pleas. He had forgotten his name. He had forgotten his companions. He had forgotten his past. But as a foremost yaksha, he would never forget that he was a born warrior, a yaksha who fought.
Hearing their cries, he drained his cup, rose from his seat without a word of reproach or promise, and walked out of the house. He glanced toward Liyue Harbor, ignored the mountain people's pleas for him to stay, and resumed his journey.
Only this time, his destination became the Chasm. And his purpose became the slaying of monsters.
Not only the nameless yaksha, but Boyang and Rongzhao seemed to understand what he intended. They followed close behind.
On the way to the Chasm, Boyang and Rongzhao looked at the powerful, four-armed yaksha before them, at the shocking scars that covered his body, and seemed to glimpse the bloody battles he had fought in the past. Their eyes were filled with reverence.
"Brother Yaksha, what is your name?"
"The monsters invading Liyue this time are no joke. With so many appearing so suddenly, something major must be happening."
"With Brother Yaksha here, we can surely win this battle, right?"
They spoke one after another. But since losing his memory, Bosacius had grown taciturn. He simply walked on in silence. His imposing figure seemed capable of holding up the sky, giving those behind him a profound sense of security.
Moving at full speed, Bosacius and the shamans soon reached the Chasm, where they encountered several common monsters.
Before Boyang and Rongzhao could act, Bosacius lunged forward, covering nearly ten meters in a single step. He threw punch after punch, obliterating the creatures.
For a warrior as seasoned as Bosacius, such weak monsters were nothing to fear.
But the two brothers did not rejoice. From another direction, hundreds upon hundreds of monsters came swarming up the steep mountain path, a dark tide of claws and fangs.
Seeing this, Boyang and Rongzhao shouted almost in unison. "Brother Yaksha, be careful! Many monsters are coming! Fall back, let us handle them!"
They poured their power into the Taisui Compass, using its power to block the advancing monsters, even hurling some off the cliffs. But as humans without Visions or great martial skill, they could not rely solely on the compass to kill monsters. They could only assist the yaksha and the Millelith by restraining the creatures.
But then, the usually silent Bosacius finally spoke.
"Stand back. I will fight them."
Before his words had faded, his body shot forward like an arrow. His four fists swung in unison, scattering the ordinary monsters like leaves in a storm. Some were smashed off the cliffs; others were crushed outright by his blows.
Watching this, Boyang, Rongzhao, and the other shamans could only stare in awe.
Too strong. This Brother Yaksha's combat power exceeded anything they had imagined. With his help, they were certain they could defeat the monsters invading the Chasm.
